- Hey y’all! Another price increase by Chanel, and I’m a little uneasy about it lol. It definitely doesn’t sit well with me, but I’m still a fan of the brand … smh I know shame on me lol but I definitely invest elsewhere. Chanel is my first love, but Hermès has my heart

Hey Taylor, love your look. Before 2008 the hardware was “ 24Kt gold overlay”. It was not solid gold. The metal on the Chanel now is simply a gold tone metal. ❤

Interestingly to all the stories I see on Chanel quality, I have never had issues with a Chanel bag. I got the mini backpack from cruise in Nov 23 and practically wear it everyday. It does not have anything wrong with it as far as I’ve noticed. No peeling or rubbing or bad zippers. Nothing of the horror stories I’ve heard. Same with another crossbody that I wore a lot before the BP.
However, I own Chanel and Hermes and other brands as well. I can definitely tell the quality is not there for the same price point of an Hermes. I completely agree that at the price of the CF, I’d much rather have an H bag.
Loved the mini backpacks! Super cute! Is it caviar leather? I say the same. Fortunately, I didn’t have an issue with quality either, but it’s a lil discouraging hearing it from others. I just would be more vigilant moving forward if I decided to purchase another CF. Yes! Hermès quality wins hands down
@@taylerfoe yes. My mini BP is caviar. All the cruise mini BP were caviar (I believe) I actually got two but use the black one way more. Because I wear it crossbody, I would not buy it in lambskin.
At these price points, I would not want lambskin from Chanel. Even the mini went up. Not terribly, but they don’t make it in caviar anymore so the price makes the bag look less appealing.

I have two Chanel handbags. For the price I paid, my classic WOC is peeling. I’m done with Chanel. Machine made vs hand made and price increases are frequent. Hermes (Berlin or Kelly) is better quality.
Omg I audibly gasped when I read peeling! How long did you have it before it started peeling? That’s the thing. I can’t justify the price increases with the quality issues I hear about. Love Chanel, but Hermès will forever be my first choice

I was hoping to get another classic flap before this price increase. Now that the price has gone up, i am rethinking if i should really purchase a classic flap but we will see. I will say if i do get this bag, this will be the last classic flap bag i purchase. I would only buy the Chanel kelly, or Chanel mini from now on.

I love the mini’s and the Kelly is super cute. It’s a lil outlandish to pay that price for it to be made by a machine. Insanity! I still love the brand, but idk it just doesn’t sit right with my spirit.
