  • Dr. Sheila Knox was born and grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended Riverside High School. She attended UW-Oshkosh and Marquette University. Dr. Knox worked for Wisconsin Job Service in the Department of Workforce Development for nearly 40 years and retired as a Director. She also worked at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) in Community Outreach. She participated in a student protest at UW-Oshkosh in 1968 along with 94 other black students referred to as the Oshkosh 94. She is a history major, and has been active in civil rights and community efforts since her youth. She received an honorary doctorate from UW-Oshkosh in 2018.
