I love this song. I love this album and for 20 years I've loved this band and I'm proud to say it (it seems in vogue to be a U2 basher by lots of people for some odd reason!?!). My relationship with U2 has traveled along the same path as any long-term love relationship - through those same stages of love: eros, philos, agape; and I am happy to say they now deserve my 'agape'. I agree. This is the best I've heard Bono sing in a while. I've always felt that his vocal quality suffered by over smoking in the early 90s, not to mention he doesn't ever hold back his voice. He belts a lot, sometimes strains his voice. If you watch the Zoo TV dvd his voice is fantastic but when you watch the Popmart dvd it's not as good. In fact pay attention to One inparticular. He definitely struggled to do the falsetto bit at the end.

I just read up about it, apparently the album has been forced upon half a billion people via their itunes accounts... which I think is a bit wrong! Luckily, I quite enjoy a few of their songs (many are TERRIBLE). It's made me a bit nervous, like Apple are forcing us and invading our privacy like that!

zootv500 well considering how much smoking has affected his voice over the years I think age might play a massive factor as well
I agree. This is the best I've heard Bono sing in a while. I've always felt that his vocal quality suffered by over smoking in the early 90s, not to mention he doesn't ever hold back his voice. He belts a lot, sometimes strains his voice. If you watch the Zoo TV dvd his voice is fantastic but when you watch the Popmart dvd it's not as good. In fact pay attention to One inparticular. He definitely struggled to do the falsetto bit at the end.
