To work on this video I decided to watch majority of the films from Satyajit Ray's filmography, there are almost 40 titles in his catalogue, ranging from feature length and short films to documentaries about various prominent figures in the Bengali culture Amongst them I shortlisted around 25 titles that qualified my requirements and from them I was only able to find half of them in a good quality that weren't ruined by ingrained subtitles, watermarks and audio issues Even though my focus was somewhat limited and there were only handful of titles required to work on the video, I wanted to watch the well known to better understand how he worked But I didn't want to make another usual video on the director that are widely available in the platform, rather than that I chose to focus on something that is widely talked about when discussing his works This is the first out of two videos based around his work, the other one isn't entirely concrete as of now but I will use that film and it's talking point in my future work And maybe there can be even more, as I haven't finished all of his films that I want to watch, a good chunk of them are left and some might be almost impossible if I can't find them in a better quality
Always love to watch your videos I always feel like I learn more about cinema and find new movies I need to watch. Great job as always! Would love to see more videos like this
