Great info for 1st timers or nervous flyers 🛫 Thanks for doing this Mike 👍 My tip for guest who have preference for a specific brand, buy from duty free before boarding to Cuba 🍻🇨🇺
Great tips for first timers and people like myself that haven't been in a while since this year. The digital declaration was new to me lol. Thanks for sharing!
@@Finding-Fish Niagara is good! Finally have some good weather coming this weekend lol Hung out with a friend we met in Cuba last weekend who is also a subscriber of yours from Toronto. Hope all is well with you!
@@Finding-Fish it was great A lot of mosquitoes as usual went through two bottles of bug spray. The food selection was minimal but good quality. Pig roast and pizza on cuba day and they had a fun Canada celebration. Weather very hot but nice breeze at ocean. Only thing I didn’t like I had to pay to use the safe in my room which was a first for me on any vacation
I absolutely love my travel day! It’s a process but oddly comforting because you know in 4 short hours your going to be in one of the nicest spots in the world and if your a returning guest, you will be amongst your Cuban family, and to be honest I love them more than most of my blood family!
As a senior I greatly appreciated this one. We recently found your channel and have been playing catch up to see them all. Could you please include in future videos how you find your deals? I appreciate how your videos show the food on the buffet. As a vegetarian I’m looking to see what I could eat. lol. Great job. We love your positive attitude
Great tips Mike! For check-in, how does that work for the Sanctuary? Do you go to the front desk and they send a cart to take you or do the Bell boys get a cart? We are going there because of your videos and just want to figure out the process.
Another great video! Very informative! I recommend people use very distinctive covers for their suit case. A lot of people have black & navy and they look similar. Temu & shein have covers for cheap to put over them.
Hi Mike, thanks for the promised update on the cellphone plan, greatly appreciate it! Another question for you regarding the internet in Cuba - based on your extensive travel experience, are there resorts or areas (ie. Cayo Coco, Varadero) that you have found to have more reliable wifi for work? Which VPN have you found to work the best? Thanks again, looking forward to the next video.
Great informative video Mike!! Do they still take your picture going in and going out of Customs? I found it very easy to get processed and get on with the trip in Cuba. Where are you off to next? I look forward to your next video as they are THE best especially the Cuban videos. Take care and safe travels.
Great video Mr. Fish. Cant wait to get to my Cayo Santamaria in August. Have you heard about Paradisus Los Cayos? Any recomendations for getting a nicer room there?
Yes only 1 person at a time at Cuban security unless you have kids they will take you picture and compare to your passport so you have to take off hats and glasses. Cuban Airport tips make sure you put travel locks on your suitcases and don't put anything in outside pockets chances it will not be there when you arrive either destination. A lot of times at Cuban airports depending on times there is not much to eat so eat before you leave the resort or make some sandwiches at the resort for the ride home.
Thanks Mike! I have not been to the T.O airport in many years...I thinkt hat inner field bus trip would be a bit confusing. The step for the shuttle bus is low, is it wheelchair accessible? Does it kneel/lower? Helpful. No direct flights from Sunwing Halifax in the Summer to Cuba.😢 Cell phone info also helpful!
Hey Mike , great video… we are heading to Cuba Friday July 12th for the 4th time this year lol … if your in the VARADERO area we will be at Callie 62 having a couple drinks celebrating one of the bartenders birthdays… join us if your around Cheers Mike
@@steveholc3148 depends , if your exchanging money for pesos I’d use USD as the black market rate right now is about 320 pesos to $1 USD , USD is also good for tipping as you can use $1 bill instead of our Canadian loonie, the Cubans can not really use that or deposit into their bank accounts , me personally I tip $5 Canadian and bring only USD to exchange for my pesos
Great video! We never knew there was that area at Pearson airport!....who knew!!!...Your videos are great we enjoy watching. One question do you travel to any other Caribbean areas?...Viv
Pearson airport seems chaotic vs MTL 😮😮 guess I'll be witnessing it next week... heading back to Cayó Cruz, 450$ per person cheaper departing from Toronto.
Hi! I love your videos, very helpful since I’m going to cuba in a week for the first time😊 can you tell me how much cash you think we should bring ( we are staying for 7 days) and should we bring CAD or USD? Do we tip daily or wait till the end of the week and leave a lump sum?
I tip daily, Bring some small USD I find it better and bring small bill $1 USD I tip my made daily and servers at the end of my service But it works for me
Well you can still be okay!!! If you have a computer you can do the declaration for and print it off and take it with you!!!! After that!!! No cell phone needed

Is that new for Sunwing at Pearson i.e. travelling by bus to a new location? Do you still need to fill out the Cuba visa card while enroute to Cuba? Thanks Peter
Sunwing flights began departure from the Pearson Airport Infield Concourse Sep 6, 2022. As of Jan 1, 2024, you no longer need to fill out the Tourist Visa form for entry into Cuba. Hope this helps
@@stevenmaw7491 Thanks. It sure does. Most of the time we fly Sunwing to Cuba, last time in May 2023 direct from the main terminal . Glad to hear the visas have been discontinued. Cheers
Some times you do!!!! Bring a pen just in case!!! I’ve been traveling with Sunwing for so long the inter field has been in operation for a good year or so
Hey Mike, so they no longer give you the declaration form on the plane? Haven’t been to Cuba since 2019 they always give you the visa thing on the plane to fill out.
The only document you’ll be given is your Tourist Visa. The declaration form is not provided anymore. Now you fill it out online (link will be provided from airline) 72 hours before your departure date. It’ll give you a QR code that I would recommend printing out that you scan at customs. (At least through Sunwing) can’t speak for the other airlines.
I never have an issue requesting the room and floor we want. I always shoot them an email request and through my travel agent and always got what I asked for the most part of it even in busy hotels like in Mexico the last two summers I went. I asked for a room with the resort front of trolly pick up view last summer we went to a Bahia Principe and they honoured it while yes it was further back not in the middle of the building it was fine more quiet. I did not want other side jungle view. Also in cuba went to Playa Cayo Santa Maria twice both times we requested buildings either 7 of 15 and we stayed in both one year 7 the other went to 15. Overall they are pretty good at honouring basic requests I always just ask for particular building or area to be relatively close to lobby/pool/beach if its a big resort except last year we choose AO only building which was the last of the resort so we had to take trolly everywhere but it was okay. I always request top floor never done ground. I am asthmatic so top is important. Those are my only requests which they do a great job honouring for the most part even in busy resorts😊
6:40 a great tip I didn’t know about. thank you for spreading the word about loonies and toonies. it drives me crazy to see people giving them and then the Cuban’s trying to exchange them for paper money they can use.❤
I tell you that I have made three donations in the last two years, to the Matanzas children's hospital and the Faustino Pérez University Surgical Clinic in the city of Matanzas as well.
