Got friends leaving tomorrow and I'll be heading down in a couple weeks... I only go to Varadero.. Trip #21 coming up ❤️🌴🙏
Mike, it is nice to see someone with the exact same sentiment about Cuba. it is rare. Your comment at 22:20 is just perfect. I booked my trip in 2 weeks with my even kids before seeing your video. In Cuba you will ALWAYS get amazing weather, the best beaches, omelettes, cappuccinos, tropical fruits, best cigars in the world and the friendliest and kindest people on the planet.
Absolutely very kind!!!!
Great people
@@silviapiedra8920 Sylvia, people leave in every country for better opportunities. Venezuelans, Colombians, Mexicans, Guatemalans.. at rates higher than Cubans. My father left eastern Europe to Canada and his standard of living went up 10X. I then left my hometown and my standard of living went up another 3x. I have been to Cuba 15 times and I have lived with the people. I am not naive. At this point I would move to Cuba permanently and I think a lot of foreigners would love to escape 50% income tax, carbon tax, property tax, school tax... I would 100% rather give that all to the Cubans. Also, not everyone in Cuba has family in Miami that can send them a lifeline. For many, the foreigners are the lifeline and they appreciate us a lot. I have helped so many families and it disheartens me when people say that I should not help. Cuba will one day be an emerging market having partnerships with BRIC nations, solar farms for power, and a lot of good quality, arable land. They need some stability and care, not negativity. I am hoping that Article 50 c) passes and affluent foreigners can finally settle in, help the economy and move things forward. eltoque.com/en/the-cuban-regime-seeks-to-offer-permanent-residency-as-an-incentive-to-attract-capital
Great attitude!
You-re the man Mike. Me and my wife love your vids, your objectivity, honestly and ability to paint the real picture of what is going on down there. Keep 'em coming and all the best.
Thank you
Thanks 😊
I have been to Blau last year in December and we loved it., and I know two of you will enjoy your stay there., as you said thats your next trip destination.
Well said! Got back late yesterday and I’m already having the varadaro blues. Been watching your channel for over a year now and your able to give each video, each resort it’s own positive experience. Any idiot knows they all have issues, we just have to live with it. It was great to see you in action in person and nice to meet you! Keep it up!!

Thanks for taking the time to make this video Mike. You cut through a lot of “noise” and reassured my plans going forward. Like you, I have a small list of priorities and Cuba fits the bill every time.
I’m glad Michael
There could be a few hiccups
But like I said
They still make coffees showing and cold beer and the beach 🏖️
My wife and I have stayed at Sanctuary in Cayo Santa Maria 6 times and loved every trip.
We are both in our 70's and have never, ever felt nervous about our safety, the resort, the food, etc. We are heading back in January 2025 and will renew old friendships with the staff. Never gone hungry and have always felt like it was our second home. The beach is second to none and the people are fantastic.
Looking forward to our 2025 trip.
Yup I get it!!!!!
Have fun Gary
We were at sanctuary this jan for 1 month and we go back next month for another month
Thanks a lot for mentioning this video. I got a lot of information I need. Thanks a lot and have a great one

Hello Mr. Fish Wild 49 times almost a year worth of time. Best one yet man. I think a lot of people needed to see this. The people of Cuba are the best
Thank you
Thanks So much

Always
Thank you for your video, Mike, it's always instructive... I do appreciate all your videos... but NOW, you went to Playa Pesquero... OH MY GOD, it's my favorite resort... been there 3 times, can't wait for the next visit, and can't wait to see your video about the place... it's a magical, magical resort! ♥
Yes Magical is the right words!!!
I loved it videos coming soon
Unreal video, what people needed to hear!
Thanks Charlie!!!
Thank you mike for this honest, open video, we booked our resort in cayo coco the week of the black out, everything you talked about was right on point. Nothing like power outages (which we get here in New Brunswick) or some food items not available will ever stop us from going to Cuba. And your videos are the best and a must for anyone considering Cuba as a vacation. Yes not everyone will like Cuba, and that’s great we have choices and freedom to choose where we go. Thanks Mike.
Ronnie!!!
Thanks for watching and the Constant Support

Love your positive videos! We are going to Holguin Nov 1, booked it during the blackout. I still choose Cuba over other islands, there is something about the people in Cuba! We don't mind a survivor atmosphere just because we come from plenty in Canada, yet we are so stressed here. Bringing anything we can to Cuba to share with friends we are about to meet❤
That’s awesome
They been having rolling blackouts in Holguin for a while now!!!
Beautiful down there
@manashapost1218 i feel the same..I love it here.
Thanks for going down there and reporting back Mike we love your work, all the best, marc and leesa, ottawa
Thanks
I appreciate your support
Thank you for everything 🙏
No problem 😊
Well, thank you friend! I needed to hear what you had to share. I will go knowing what to expect now. 👍 Regards, from Toronto, CA
Could be hiccups

Mike
Thank you for the update. We are heading down the first week of December from Edmonton. We are just as excited as before.
I’ll be there to!!!
Enjoy I’m sure this will be totally sorted well before then
Thanks Mike for giving an honest opinion...there is so much negative feedback on the current situation in Cuba. I ❤ Cuba and will be there for trip #10 soon. Keep up the good work
Thanks for watching!!!
Enjoy your upcoming holiday
Mike
I love Varadero , will be there soon, thanks for the video...
The water is still warm
I knew that I could count on you to tell it like it is, to give us the straight facts. Thanks, Mike, for yet another great video. Cheers!
Thanks for your support
Mike
Thank you for this video… honest and raw. Planning on Cuba next year. Not able to this year or else I’d be there!!!!!
Mike great update! Great to hear things are getting better for the Cubans.
Better than a few days ago for sure!!!
But still lots to go
@@Finding-Fish Safe travels Mike!
Great info Mikey. Thanks for the update on the state of Cuba ... 😎
thanks Steve!!!!
I was waiting for you to discuss this because you are the only one I honestly trust with Cuba information ❤. Cheers Mike!
Omg thank you
Love your views on this video. I agree Cubans have endured a lot, and they still persevere. They are strong and selfless people and will go out of their way to make you feel happy. I agree with you, the haters/complainers should keep their negativity to themselves. Don’t cancel your trip, as Mike said, the majority of the hotels have a backup generator and there’s always some kind of food, drinks and yes a beautiful beach. What more can you ask for. Take a chance you won’t regret it. ❤
Keeping it real Mike...appreciate your voice of reason.
Well good morning and than you
Enjoy you day
Mike
Was in Veradero (Sanctuary memories) from Oct 12 to Oct 23rd. Yep no power, but we still had eggs and bacon every day throughout the black out. On the third day our bar tender called around to get us ice. At home they had no running water, no hydro and she is pulling in favours to get us ice. Think of that when you get a snide look from a waiter/waitress. They are just a different breed of people. No looting, they just pull together, and they try to make you happy. Awesome video. Yes will be going back.
Thanks Mike for the information.
I took the summer off from watching the news and boy did i feel better.
I do have a trip booked this winter to Cayo Coco and am still looking forward to it.
The people really mske the country. And its good when we can help some of them.
Keep going mike your my news feed lol.
Fantastic Mike, one of your best Videos
Glad you enjoyed it
Patty
Totally agree with people ready to give their opinions on something even when you don’t ask. Keeping your business to yourself before going to keep your spirits up, and helping the rest of us who appreciate your content and efforts…is a cool way to approach things.
Thanks Robyn!!!
great video Mike, kudos to you. Looking forward to your Playa Pesquero video, were planning of going in January, nice to see a preview of what we can expect. Keep on doing what you're doing!
Coming soon Dena hopefully starting next Saturday hopefully
We can’t wait to see the Playa Pesquero Video

Thanks for watching Terry
I cannot wait to see pp l love the hotel
You have plenty of positive vibes , Mister. You are brave to come into Cuba and to see everything for yourself. Thanks for uploading this video. My husband and I are also from Toronto and we have already booked a 10 vacation at the Royalton Hicarcos at Varadero on the 23rd November. My husband is trying to cancel the trip as there are a lot of negative news on the social media. However I want to come and hope I will succeed in doing so.
Don’t Cancel!!!!!
You’ll be fine at the Royalton!!!! Try and Believe
Great Video showed people what they wanted to see once again
thanks EVVIE
Please keep us updated. Planning on trip to Varadero in March
Mike, bro hats off to you for standing with Cubans in thick & thin 💝🇨🇺🙌
Your realistic & practical advise are very valuable & helpful to any 1st timers to Cuba. Basically Cuba offers better beaches & safe environment & best resorts at so much discount.
Having been to Cuba & traveled to remote locations, I am in love with the people & land called Cuba.
Thanks Sameer!!!
Thanks for watching and your take!!!!
I totally agree!!!
We both enjoy the beauty and peace of Cuba!!!!🇨🇺
🍹
Chat soon Sameer!!!!
Mike
Thank You Mike, Another Great Video As Always. Its Amazing How We Take Things For Granted, Power Goes Off And Yet The People Go On. I Too Was Tempted To Go To Cuba, But Alas I Could Not.
Morning
Living in Canada we do take energy for granted!!!!
Cuba 🇨🇺 beaches will be warm and waiting for you!!!
With everything going on and the crazy stuff happening beach walk will be the top priority!!!
Hopefully one will be in your future plans
Mike
I’m going in 2 weeks! Winnipeg ♥️
Thanks for the information. We have an upcoming trip on Nov 26, hopefully the power issues will be resolved.
Watching this Saturday November 2nd. And checked out the prices for Varadero $675-$1099 with taxes already included for the last few days of November- into the 1st week of December. Im definitely seriously considering booking. Appreciate the video.
Wow
I have a few more videos coming out about this Resort
Yes, this!!! Thank you for doing these videos. Been to Cuba many many times ourselves and it is dear to our hearts. Your videos are exactly what people need to see and we fully share in your points of view and opinions of the beautiful area and it’s people.
Thanks for watching and supporting
Wish I was there. It would be an adventure.
Thank you so much for this update video.
I can feel the much more comfortable after watching this. So lucky to have you travel into the ??? conditions to produce a great video to update us👍.
Hopefully by mid of November that things will smooth out.
Eggs, cappuccinos 🥚☕️🏖☀️🇨🇺.
Cheers,
Big Fan
Thanks Hobbyist
I also don't watch MSM TV/News so didn't really know what has been going on. I watch you tube vids, etc but also with a grain of salt. I have been to Cuba 10 + times and agree 100% with everything you said. I was hoping that you would explain what the actual issue is with the power grid going down. In July we went to Negril the week after the hurricane. We struggled with whether we cancel or go. We were concerned with using up valuable Island resources. We decided to go and so happy we did. The locals and businesses that were still open were grateful to have us and our tourist dollars. We were in the dark for 3 days at our resort, but it was one of our best trips.
Thank you very much for asking the people if they want tourists or not.
My annual November travel to cuba is approaching and i was wondering what to do with respect to the Cuban people.
If I go, am I using resources they can’t have for themselves but I keep contributing to the biggest part of Cuba ‘s economy or if i don’t go I just make harder for them to make a living.
Seems like they wants us (me) to go there and enjoy their wonderful sun and fantastic beaches.
They need Tourists!!!
We bring money items things they can’t get!!!!
Spices feminine products Advil children medicine
💊
$USD small bills used clothes
Honestly if u so care about "human rights", Every Single thing you are doing has been having consequences to ppl who are suffering in some part of the world.
Awesome video! Thanks Mike 👍... and I'm still heading there next weekend 👍
Nice Ron!!!!
Enjoy the beach sun and the fun
Awesome vid sir. I was really hoping you were going to Cuba while the power problems are happening so we could the truth of what is happening. Thank you sir!!
A few more videos to come
Good job and great video Mike. Make sure you pop into Mermaid Pools at 10th line and Innes one day to say hi. Safe travels.
Thanks Adrian!!!!
Thanks for the support
And invitation
Mike
You seem to have a good life. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and the support
Thank you for this video. We actually are considering booking this resort for February but we are concerned about the situation there. All in all what are your thoughts on this resort? Will you do a review video about it. We always enjoy your videos and value your opinion
You are amazing Mike! I pray the worst is over for Cuba! Have to admit I think things might be rough for a while yet. Be safe!!
I think there going to be hiccups
No doubt
Have fun at the blau , I think you will like it ,you can't beat the beach there
Can’t wait
@@Finding-FishI was there a couple of times years ago but had a really great time.Have fun!
Thanks Mike. Appreciate the video. Heading to CSM on Nov 8 for trip #8 to Cuba.
Nice choice Frank!!!
Love that beach
Thank you so much for letting us in on this trip again. I agree that the best way to support Cubans is to support their travel industry. I have had nothing but great experiences with the people and the places I've been there. Looking forward to landing in Holguin in less than 2 weeks.
I’m looking to get tickets for tomorrow or the day after to varadero from Vancouver. Fingers crossed
Here now Amazing weather lots of people!!! We’re having a great time
Once again thanks for your comprehension about the cuban dilemma, like we always say: is not easy but is not difficult either, as a cuban my self I do understand the issues that you addressed, regards and there is much more of Cuba to see. God bless you. Don't forget the beaches east of havana.
Yes!!!!
On my list!!!
And Cuba is so big and vast
So much to see and do in Cuba
Thank for your message
Mike
I'm going to Cayo Coco beginning of January. Wonder how it's going to be in the long run. 🤔
can you explain about the travel to the hotel by bus if you had to pay out of pocket or if its included...also the tipping at the hotels how do you leave tips and what currency?
I’ve made many videos about tipping
US or CAD
I never pay for transportation
Included in the package
If not take a taxi
Negotiate with them
Thanks for the video! Curious s to what was the issue with the solar chargers etc....?
Issues with Solar Chargers?
Hi Mike,
Appreciate you're remarks!
Ironically we were to travel to Royalton Cayo Santa Maria on the 22nd of Oct but realized in the morning that they were still struggling with power supply and only had really 10% of even Havana up and running.
So I made the conscious decision to cancel even though I would take a significant lose, that being no cancellation insurance, but sure enough its been "good" ever since.
No major regrets as I'm looking for stability!
Have a 2 week booked and planned again for same destination in December and like your remarks regarding the "Que sera. sera" attitude!
Thanks Lima!!!
That’s a great Resort
Remember our blackout in 2003? We were without power for a few days too.
I remember, we loved it!!!
Barbecue and beers
realy not for the same reason ...come on .
Here we have hydro 24 hours a day we could have a power outage due to any weather condition but in Cuba there have been black outs since Castro got the power and only one power plant is working and those dictators don't care about anybody including tourists the resorts have generators but there is not enough fuel either because those dictators have borrowed millions of dollars from different countries and they never paid them back this is the problem all the money they get from tourism they put it in their pockets. No tourist should go there because the people don't get any benefit from it .
Thnx for update we r going to memories of carbie on 2nd week of nov first time to cuba
Enjoy your holiday
Try not to worry!!!!
@@Finding-Fish awesome thanks looking forward to it
Love the video Mike. I love the "not wanting to hear negativity" speech cause its just too much, and I agree 1000 percent. Question for ya, we;ve booked our family of 4 trip Dec 3 to Grand Memories Veradero. Thanks again for helping us make the best choice for us based on your amazing thorough and non biased view of the resort. I do have a personal question to ask. Is there any way I can buy a Finding Fish t-shirt or hoodie like the ones you wear in your videos. Id like to support the channel and represent at the same time.
Keep up the amazing work and we would love to see some Mexico/Dominican Resort videos if your feeling the need!!!
Thanks for watching!!!
I appreciate it!!!!
Mike
We still consider ourselves to go back to 🇨🇺
God bless Cuban people 🇨🇺
Awesome. We booked 2 weeks.
Awesome
Great job Mike, Thanks for everything you do
Thanks Jeff
I love your content … I’ve been to Cuba about 1/2 as much as you and I often use the phrase “ we understand Cuba” things in Cuba can be up and down but Cuba has my heart and I will be back in January. I don’t ever recommend Cuba but I always tell an honest experience and let people decide first themselves. I hate the negativity people spew as out travelling to
Cuba!!
Yup absolutely we’re on the same page!!!!!!
Thanks for this video!
Thank you!!!!😊
God Bless You. You are our Ambassador to Cuba and Cuiba's Ambassador to the world.. You call it the way you see it and that is appreciated. I feel sorry for the Cuban People.
someday it will change we hope.
Thank you for all you do with your lovely lady to keep us up to date.
One day Jim!!!!
My family and I came in on the 19th we experienced blackout but eventually got lights the same evening all good we survived and are more resilient and had a good time during the last leg of our leg and very happy we stayed ❤.
Thanks for sharing Jenn!!!
It’s nice to see you still enjoyed black out!!!
Nice to hear
Thank you for sharing this!! I was arguing with a travel agent on TikTok about this. She said anyone who travels there is ki11ing the Cubans and is telling everyone not to go.
I tagged you on TikTok .
Thank you for speaking to the people.
I think I saw that
Tina
Great info thanks Mike.
Thanks Randy
Thanks but no thanks Mike. It’s a 3rd world country at the best of times.
I’ve been a half dozen times.
Add hurricane threats, shortages, blackouts and rude foreigners.
We’ll pass.
But we appreciate your thoughts.
.. It’s a big world out there.
We are going to Panama next month and Mazatlán Mexico for a month in January & February.
Many places without all those issues we can visit!
Don’t get use wrong. We liked it there.
Beaches aren’t everything.
Things have changed. Rude visitors from other countries seem to be making the locals less friendly & we don’t blame them.
Have you been to Roatan or Belize / Caye caulker ?
There’s a reason why 1/5 of Cubans have left the country.
I’d like to see you explore other islands.
On the affordable side.
We will be exploring the entire world 🌎
My first time there..will be in April.. God Bless
Enjoy
I like traveling to Cuba in April
Thanks for this informative video
Thanks for watching
Hey Mike thx so much for the update on the situation in Cuba. I am planning on a visit to the Sanctuary at Grand Memories this coming week. Pls let me know if you hear any reports of the situation at the sanctuary. My name is Charlie and we met at that resort this May. Keep up the excellent work. Love the tip about the solar powered charging unit. I will pick one up before I leave Toronto. Thx again, Safe travels.
You’ll be fine !!!
Charlie!!!!!!
Yes
I went to Sol Palmeras because of you!!!
Loved it!!!!
I just got home this morning!!!
From Cuba!!!
Things are stable and fine!!!
Hard to believe but true!!!
I believe they closed Grand Memories and Sanctuary!!!!
They sent them all to Grand Aston!!!
Subscriber at the airport were telling me this, because they booked the Sanctuary but ended up there!!!
Free of charge of course!!!
They said the resort was amazing!!!!
But that’s what I was told!!!
Regardless you will be totally looked after!!!!
Thanks For watching Charlie!!!!
Have fun
Mike
Thanks Mike you are the best !!
Mike, me and buddy Dan are arriving tonight to the sanctuary. I heard you will be visiting Varadero this week as well. If you would like to stop by for a cervesa let me know. Enjoy your vacation and keep the videos coming !!
Hi Mike great info on what's going on with cuba thanks for the video! Take care and enjoy your trip ❤
like this video, thanks 😊
Just came back yesterday (october 25th) from 7 days in Cayo Paredon. No problems for me there, everything was working, great vacations. I sure hope the situation gets better for Cubans. Thanks for your video.
I’m glad you had a great time!!!
Hi Mike . Great video. I appreciate ur non-nonsence honest approach. No A/C at night might be problem but hopefully for March Break will ok. How do u like this resort overall ?
I’m sure at March Break you’ll be fine
👏👏👏 🙏🙏🙏
Great update Mike, like always it is Cuba and we all know the chances we are taking when going there.
Thanks Phil
4 of us are heading to varadero at the end of november. Love it there, and im sure we will be just fine. A food friend from the area says its challenging but still good at resorts.
Ya food comes and goes
I’m sure resorts will do there best to please,
For PR and keeping people happy
Well said Mike. We love Cuba have been twice already this year and will be back Nov 13th to Iberostar Bella Vista Varadero . We were a bit anxious about the situation but since we were 3 weeks out we had faith they would get it sorted out. We always go with a relaxed expectation in regards to food, it's Cuba we get it. Other than that you can't beat the price and location. The beaches are the best. It's our way of supporting the beautiful people of Cuba....without the resorts they would have nothing.
How is the weather plz going next week
Hi. Whats the temperature/weather like in April?? Thanks ❤
There are websites showing weather in Cuba by month.
Great job
thanks So MUCH
