    The word ''Progression'' doesn't always mean moving forward or doing the correct thing or going in the right direction! But wisdom passed down by elders will always help keep you from messing up in the future !

    • @unclebounce1495
      @unclebounce1495 2 года назад +1

      Progression is rarely a good thing, not as an ideal. Chang is needed sometimes, but change without specific reason is just another word for chaos, for change is choatic.

    As a child. We all got up and sang this to my papa for his birthday, he loved it. Always talked about that memory and how he felt so loved. When he was on his death bed again, he brought it up... all of his grandchildren got up at his funeral and sang it for him again. But as she sang "Daddies really never go away" I looked at my mom and aunts... and I just broke. Fell to the ground crying and couldn't finish. Thankfully I was in the back behind a crowd of aus. My brother and cousin picked me up and held me up. Now I tear up everytime I listen.

    Just saw Wyonna Judd live in a small Texas music venue. Maybe 100 people? Wyonna, Cactus (her husband) and a bass player. Great night of music. The audience showed her lots of love and Wyonna returned the love in spades. She ended her 2 hour performance with the Pledge of Allegiance ! The audience all stood and said it with her. Great show. A nice Texas night out enjoying live music, beer. God Bless the Lone Star State.

    This song brings Jamey Johnson's "In Color" to mind. I think you'd enjoy that one Tasha...a little suggestion in case your list is too short (haha).
    I have a considerable number of decades under my belt during which time I've lived, worked and traveled all over our country and, based on that experience, I'd say the vast majority of Americans are kind, peaceful, hard working folks; rural and urban alike. I believe that holds true today. The difference I see is the level of political divisiveness and endless attempts to destroy civility among our fellow citizens. Self serving political ideologues demonize those who disagree and simply wish to live their lives as they see fit. You've heard all the name calling (racist probably being most typical) and seen the bullying, cancelling, etc. The American people must reject attempts to foment division, fear and hatred where it doesn't actually exist or we face a grim future. Make no mistake, political ideologues don't care about us or our society...they only care about their power, despite all the wearisome rhetoric.

    An artist named Dave Fenley has an amazing cover to this song with 14 million views. I watched and commented on it at like 4am on Thanksgiving morning last year, and he replied almost instantly.
    I told him how great I thought it was, and then I edited my comment to ask if he had been on one of those singing shows, because his name sounded vaguely familiar. He said something like yeah, he was on the Voice and America's Got Talent, but didn't win. And jokingly called himself a fat loser. Lol
    He replied to me a second time. He seemed very humble with a sense of humor. Was surprised he was up in the middle of the night on Thanksgiving morning, and replied to my comments.

    I’m a new grandpa, I am glad I don’t have the stories of the Great Depression or The Dust Bowl. We were poor just not as poor as my family was when I was a kid. Something they don’t teach anymore is look the person in the eye, square your shoulders, stand up straight, give the person a firm hand shake, and if you say you’re going to do something do it. A deal or a contract can be made with a handshake

    My PawPaw always said there's nothing new under the sun...people still mean...just have new technology to be meaner and mean in new ways. Bit he always believed folks are really good beneath all the surface politics. He hated politics and refused to vote the last 20 years of his life...claimed they are all crooks. Said politics never helped anybody. He grew up during the depression and a WWII vet, hated war and politicians. Loved that man.. Mom and Dad died when I was 10 and he raised me. Family was all that mattered, really, still true.
