Hearing you say Kazuha's ER requirements are more often than not above 200% really puts into perspective how much my R5 Fav sword have cut down his ER requirements for me, dude uses his skill ONCE at 161 ER and just get's his burst off cooldown so often that I thought he was overcapped in ER.
I have never gotten a fav sword 😭 even though I got every other 4 star gacha weapon usually around R5 already. Thx Zajef for the ER requirements but it seems I cannot use it. My kazuha is still stuck with a R5 iron sting with EM/EM/crit rate build because of too much crit dmg substats, 45/120 crit and 800 EM. I usually used him in childe international so kazuha gets his atk from noblesse Bennett(this is not in your calculations), dmg bonus from iron sting as well as others and crit from circlet so the ratio between these multipliers are quite even. Lastly, his pyro infused burst can vaporize a few times. I think anemo dmg goblet is much worse than EM goblet compared to crit circlet vs EM circlet due to kazuha multiple dmg types and my bias with iron sting.
This type of content is what puts Zafej above the other creators for me. I was debating upgrading my Iron Sting or my Fav Sword for Kaz but leaning towards more on the latter, and I'm glad Zajef basically backed that instinct with math.
@@psk_94 Nah, they definetly do. There's a lot of hidden interactions that are very clearly intended by the developers. If they gave thoma an AKTK% ascencion, its simply because they did not want him to have a better ascencion because it would make him too good. A very good example of this is the abyss enemy HP. From 1.0 all the way to 2.0, the floor12 chamber 3 enemies all had the SAME EXACT combined hp, despite being wildly different enemies and combinations. That doesn't happen by mistake.

If they knew what they were doing bennett wouldn't exist in his current state, they literally had a year of beta testing to fine tune, and haven't been able to recover post launch from a handful of way overtuned 4* characters that overshadow the majority of 5* limited character cast. This is basically a character collection single player game with high caliber world exploration, no real end game, so they can get away with lax balance and idiocy. They literally designed Thoma to be a niche support strictly for Hu Tao on her banner, then he ends up stealing vapes and overall worthless character without high cons.

@@kingdoom5022 what? EM is what helps him buff other chracters, most of the time kazuha is doing only a minor portion dmg in the team so buffing the rest of the teams dmg is much more valuable.
This is less likely since em sand has the highest drop out of 3 slots but it does help when er sand has good substats ( I also use er sand with 100 em and some crit)

Honestly speaking, I've been on a crit-based build for Kazuha ever since I got him, because after my initial grind for the Anemo set I got some really nice Crit-Pieces, some of which over 35% cv. And my other Anemo-EM set pieces went to Venti and Sucrose. After another 2 months of grinding Viridescent I finally got another couple of EM pieces for him. After having watched this, I feel like the grind is now more justified :'>

Thank you for clearing many myths I love my Sac sword C1 Kazuha. He takes A LOT of field time though. So unless you really need his E, such as in overload teams where his CC is very needed, fav is always going to be better. I now have 2 leveled up sac and fav on my account, in case I want to run something like fav/sac Kazuha with fav Bennett, and sac Xingqiu.. Those weapons, they are just so good.
Sac + C1 is my favorite thing to play in the whole game, I got super lucky on his C1 and am now about to grab a guaranteed C2. Most content that isn't very tanky, especially multi-wave stuff, there's nothing quite as fluid as running sac + C1 in something like a mono-pyro Xiangling, maybe throw in a Kaeya, maybe a team with Fischl etc., preferably some electrocharged for Kazuha's dmg. Bennett, Kaeya and Xiangling is a good example, not as much dmg as replacing Kazuha or at least Xiangling with Rosaria, but it feels so good and flexible to play.

Question: what if I want to leave the possibility of pulling for Freedom Sworn for Kazuha in the future on the table? Do you still recommend fav over iron sting? I hope you get what I am asking: an iron sting Kazuha, built to have enough ER from artifact substats can immediately swap into a freedom sworn, but a fav kazuha will realize that the fav sword seems to be duct-taped to his hand. If he wants to switch to a freedom sworn, the whole team's rotation may have some serious issues, and you'll have to re-farm for artifacts not just on Kazuha but also the teammates that depended on Kazuha's fav to get their bursts up. Thoughts?

The fav sword clarification is huge. I have him at around 25% crit, but did not run him with fav, but will now. The clarification in the comment about the refinement level is also greatly appreciated. Great video!
one of the other reasons EM is prefered is the fact you also got to calculate the dmg boost he provides to the other members, which for some chars out does crit.

Thank you a bunch for this video. I was on the fence about pulling for freedom sworn but I think I am just gonna stick with an ER sword and triple EM pieces. 100% uptime on the burst is infinitely more valuable than getting like 1k+ EM.

Interesting I would say iron sting and fav are equally good since one craftable meanwhile so it ads into it's value since some of us are unlucky enough to not roll fav sword... but I do agree with the utility of fav>is
Kazuha is far better in AoE situations and CC. Sucrose is about the same or better in single target situations. Sucrose is also better as an on field driver so she can constantly vv shred and swirl so she is superior in taser teams.
There are some clacs, but it mostly depends on which unit you're buffing. Hu Tao (example) is a case where Kazuha is a downgrade because she already has way too much DMG bonus (passive, artifact set) to the point where getting EM is better. In the case of Xiangling, he's a sidegrade for the most part, even in international (Childe's burst gets buffed by Sucrose and that's a big portion of the damage's team so it evens it out, especially since you never build EM on him). In the case of Raiden, he's 100% an upgrade. Freeze he's a sidegrade to Venti. It all depends on the units that you're talking about
In general Sucrose's buff is stronger than his value wise, but his personal dmg evens it out to the point, where both of them have about the same team dps in most teams. He is mostly a side grade or a downgrade, while being an upgrade in only certain teams, that have a special synergy with him.
Sucrose is generally better if the team is constantly triggering elemental reactions (taser, national). If the main dps is gated by standard ICD, I think both are equivalent - remember Sucrose can use TTDS (Yoimiya, Diluc, etc.) In swirl-able mono-element teams, only Kazuha can buff outside VV (freeze, hyper Raiden, etc.).

I was recently able to achieve 167 ER and 936 EM with my Iron Sting Kazuha. I know that Favonius is technically better, but I mainly use him in my Ayato Fischl team and he usually has his burst whenever I need it.
The best thing with the EM build is that we don't have to worry about getting crit dmg and rate , no need to balance them getting high cri dmg value , once we get main stat EM and ER in sub stat we are good to go

Honestly,i plan on going for Kazoo since i'm guaranteed,idk if i'll get him or not but if i do this video kinda convinced me to use Fav sword on him,i was planning on using Iron sting but Fav solves more problems than one by itself,it gives energy not only for Kazoo but for everyone else aswel which let's face it for most characters specially since Inazuma came energy is something we all made sacrifices in other stats for because lately everyone has high cost bursts so that helps a bit with that problem,it also helps with his ER so you don't have to go overboard with that either since the white particles give alot of energy anyway plus you don't have to go for too much crit rate since he hits multiple times at once basically so one of those hits can proc it so for a support Kazuha that is better,i guess you go full CR for DPS Kazoo but who does that unless you have all the cons which i will never have so its either going overboard with EM and using Iron or going overboard with EM and using Fav but using Fav helps in other ways aswel so yeah i think i got convinced to use Fav on him if i do get him thx. Also if i got this right,his E and normal atk scale together like Xiao's burst and normal atk since Xiao's burst and Kazuha's skill literally convert and maybe add a little bit of anemo dmg to the plunging dmg which is upgraded only by the normal atk talent.
I used to feel underpowered and that getting kazuha would solve my problems. Now I'm fine with only having sucrose and don't feel pressured to get kazuha to 36* abyss. Don't pull for just meta, it's pointless in this game. I'll be saving for sumeru, maybe build some pity with Kazuha banner without feeling bad if I don't get him.

Yeah I mean Kazuha is still one of my top desired pulls but sumeru and dendro have me really excited for some very different team comps. It makes sense to hard save, so I might just sit tight even though it'll be hard.

200 ER requirement for Kazuha in Childe International, while all this time I've been using Iron Sting / 150 ER and botching all my rotations. Testament to how strong the team synergy is that it can brute force so easily despite pilot error.
The next question is how long does your International team rotation last? If your team rotation goes on for 30 seconds or more, of course that much ER is enough. But if the rotation we want is 24 seconds (which is the most effective rotation duration according to Childe Mains), then the ER is lacking. We also have to consider the conditions, if 150% ER you mean in a scenario that has many targets, of course that's enough. But what about in the worst conditions when the enemy produces very few particles? THAT'S WHY Zajeff might make an ER minimum in the worst case scenario. THAT'S WHY answering the Minimum ER question is a pain in the ass, because we don't know what kind of condition each person is facing. 13:12
@@OktavianusCelestialine My problem was that I apparently massively undervalued the importance of Kazuha burst for team damage. I focused mostly on his E buffing the team, and since his E was always up on demand it never felt lacking. If his burst was also up, cool, but if not I just E and swap. Anyway, I leveled up another Fav Sword with Monday materials so now I have over 200 ER / 800 EM, so we'll see how this build feels in Abyss.
Doesn't the increased elemental DMG buff in freeze team justify having less ER on Kazuha than recommended? If not, I wish I saw this video before crafting Iron Sting and leveling it to 90 ._. Also, 23:15 wasn't that 191 there low plunge damage? I calculated your Kazuha's multipliers, his high plunge damage should be ~238 if his collision plunge does 95.
Thing is that his ult still contributes a not negligible amount of damage so you should never willingly not burst in any team, freeze included. It's still worth sacrificing 5-10% elemental damage bonus in order to get enough ER for him to ult every rotation.
The higher ER is generally worth it in Freeze teams too Sadge... Also that is indeed an instance of low plunge, you can see I'm deploying my glider before my plunge instead of plunging immediately so don't plunge from quite as high as if I just used my E

That's called min maxing your character damage and crit rate/dmg is how you do it in most cases besides kokomi.
One thing I learned from this is, instead of forcing a 4-star EM VV sands, just equip Iron Sting then put on a 5-star ER VV sands.
Unless you don't have both 5 star em sands and favonius sword, then yeah.

one of the other reasons EM is prefered is the fact you also got to calculate the dmg boost he provides to the other members, which for some chars out does crit.

Thank you a bunch for this video. I was on the fence about pulling for freedom sworn but I think I am just gonna stick with an ER sword and triple EM pieces. 100% uptime on the burst is infinitely more valuable than getting like 1k+ EM.

Interesting I would say iron sting and fav are equally good since one craftable meanwhile so it ads into it's value since some of us are unlucky enough to not roll fav sword... but I do agree with the utility of fav>is

Kazuha is far better in AoE situations and CC. Sucrose is about the same or better in single target situations. Sucrose is also better as an on field driver so she can constantly vv shred and swirl so she is superior in taser teams.
There are some clacs, but it mostly depends on which unit you're buffing. Hu Tao (example) is a case where Kazuha is a downgrade because she already has way too much DMG bonus (passive, artifact set) to the point where getting EM is better. In the case of Xiangling, he's a sidegrade for the most part, even in international (Childe's burst gets buffed by Sucrose and that's a big portion of the damage's team so it evens it out, especially since you never build EM on him). In the case of Raiden, he's 100% an upgrade. Freeze he's a sidegrade to Venti. It all depends on the units that you're talking about
In general Sucrose's buff is stronger than his value wise, but his personal dmg evens it out to the point, where both of them have about the same team dps in most teams. He is mostly a side grade or a downgrade, while being an upgrade in only certain teams, that have a special synergy with him.
Sucrose is generally better if the team is constantly triggering elemental reactions (taser, national).
If the main dps is gated by standard ICD, I think both are equivalent - remember Sucrose can use TTDS (Yoimiya, Diluc, etc.)
In swirl-able mono-element teams, only Kazuha can buff outside VV (freeze, hyper Raiden, etc.).
Tldr. Sucrose best for elemental reaction team, kazuha best for mono/freeze team

I was recently able to achieve 167 ER and 936 EM with my Iron Sting Kazuha. I know that Favonius is technically better, but I mainly use him in my Ayato Fischl team and he usually has his burst whenever I need it.

Great video mr. Zajef! I always thought that Kazuha's plunge would count as a swirl. Now I know why a lot of people play him wrong.
The best thing with the EM build is that we don't have to worry about getting crit dmg and rate , no need to balance them getting high cri dmg value , once we get main stat EM and ER in sub stat we are good to go

I like the synergy with Kazuha and echo teams with the 1s ICD like Beidou, Yelan, XQ, etc, since you can do his E during the downtime of the ICD and get effectively full uptime
Honestly,i plan on going for Kazoo since i'm guaranteed,idk if i'll get him or not but if i do this video kinda convinced me to use Fav sword on him,i was planning on using Iron sting but Fav solves more problems than one by itself,it gives energy not only for Kazoo but for everyone else aswel which let's face it for most characters specially since Inazuma came energy is something we all made sacrifices in other stats for because lately everyone has high cost bursts so that helps a bit with that problem,it also helps with his ER so you don't have to go overboard with that either since the white particles give alot of energy anyway plus you don't have to go for too much crit rate since he hits multiple times at once basically so one of those hits can proc it so for a support Kazuha that is better,i guess you go full CR for DPS Kazoo but who does that unless you have all the cons which i will never have so its either going overboard with EM and using Iron or going overboard with EM and using Fav but using Fav helps in other ways aswel so yeah i think i got convinced to use Fav on him if i do get him thx.
Also if i got this right,his E and normal atk scale together like Xiao's burst and normal atk since Xiao's burst and Kazuha's skill literally convert and maybe add a little bit of anemo dmg to the plunging dmg which is upgraded only by the normal atk talent.
I used to feel underpowered and that getting kazuha would solve my problems. Now I'm fine with only having sucrose and don't feel pressured to get kazuha to 36* abyss. Don't pull for just meta, it's pointless in this game. I'll be saving for sumeru, maybe build some pity with Kazuha banner without feeling bad if I don't get him.

Yeah I mean Kazuha is still one of my top desired pulls but sumeru and dendro have me really excited for some very different team comps. It makes sense to hard save, so I might just sit tight even though it'll be hard.

200 ER requirement for Kazuha in Childe International, while all this time I've been using Iron Sting / 150 ER and botching all my rotations.
Testament to how strong the team synergy is that it can brute force so easily despite pilot error.
The next question is how long does your International team rotation last?
If your team rotation goes on for 30 seconds or more, of course that much ER is enough.
But if the rotation we want is 24 seconds (which is the most effective rotation duration according to Childe Mains), then the ER is lacking.
We also have to consider the conditions, if 150% ER you mean in a scenario that has many targets, of course that's enough. But what about in the worst conditions when the enemy produces very few particles? THAT'S WHY Zajeff might make an ER minimum in the worst case scenario.
THAT'S WHY answering the Minimum ER question is a pain in the ass, because we don't know what kind of condition each person is facing.

@@OktavianusCelestialine My problem was that I apparently massively undervalued the importance of Kazuha burst for team damage.
I focused mostly on his E buffing the team, and since his E was always up on demand it never felt lacking. If his burst was also up, cool, but if not I just E and swap.
Anyway, I leveled up another Fav Sword with Monday materials so now I have over 200 ER / 800 EM, so we'll see how this build feels in Abyss.

Doesn't the increased elemental DMG buff in freeze team justify having less ER on Kazuha than recommended? If not, I wish I saw this video before crafting Iron Sting and leveling it to 90 ._.
Also, 23:15 wasn't that 191 there low plunge damage? I calculated your Kazuha's multipliers, his high plunge damage should be ~238 if his collision plunge does 95.
Thing is that his ult still contributes a not negligible amount of damage so you should never willingly not burst in any team, freeze included. It's still worth sacrificing 5-10% elemental damage bonus in order to get enough ER for him to ult every rotation.
The higher ER is generally worth it in Freeze teams too Sadge...
Also that is indeed an instance of low plunge, you can see I'm deploying my glider before my plunge instead of plunging immediately so don't plunge from quite as high as if I just used my E
