Hello sir I am working on a business project for my business school in ocean fright forwarding and would like your inputs and recommendations could you please spare some time
Okay, so the crypto comment did not age well, but regardless. I would argue that freight forwarders will not go away because half of what I do is not freight forwarding. It is fire fighting (dealing with problems). When I explain my job to others I just ask them if they have seen the meme of the dog sitting on a chair while the building is on fire, while saying "This is fine". If they say yes, then I say that is my job! :D
@@hughfitzgibbon7661 I work with B2B, region to region (between states in us context) that can not go under groupage (dont fit in big machines that sort goods etc). It is not project forwarding, but basically the same with smaller shipments and domestically. You want a 5 meter long crane part shipped for example. I am responsible for one region of my nation, but because the leadership structure is so flat. I basically deal with everything that is not direct sales related in my region and I work that part alone. Because of this my role is very fluid between allot of aspects. I control drivers, talk to train companies, sell goods, take complainants from terminal to CEO level leaders, responsible to figure it out despite electronic EDI (electronic freight documents) lack info, responsible for the economics of my region and so on... Because of this planning, which an Ai can maybe partially aid me a bit in, is only like 1/4 of the job.
Just outstanding!!
I wish I would have run into your,"brain" 3 years sgo
The comments are bluntly honest and real
Thank you
Amazing, good job with this podcast!
So are you saying that the freight forwarder role itself needs to become more of a sales and marketing role?
Great discussion!
So basically, AI is going to render humans obsolete.
That didn't make me feel too warm or fuzzy.
What's that written on the wall about quality of your thoughts?
I like ur discussion
Onya PAUL.. long time no see.

Can I ask what your role is in forwarding?
