NYCT Bus Observations: Narrows Road N/S & Fingerboard Ave (Staten Island)

Welcome to Staten Island!
Seen here are buses fresh off the Staten Island Expressway, stopping at Fingerboard Ave on both sides of Narrows Road. The first and last stop in Staten Island for most Express buses that use the Verrazano Bridge is situated at the foot of the exit ramps.
The first few clips were taken near Narrows Road’s highest point, at North Drive. Everything else was shot at the actual bus stops at Fingerboard Ave.

Noice vid! 3:15, I don’t think that should be open. Did the engine overheat? These busses are 20 years and starting to act up. That can be a extreme safety hazard and those doors can fly off at any moment, on the highway and hit someone car and cause a accident or they can swing back so fast at a point they sent the rear. I hope everything okay with the bus..

No idea. It pulled up that way, so I assume it came unfastened on the way down.

Staten Island is the spoiled child of the Express buses. Always getting the new buses and leaving the Qm buses with what they had for a good Decade
Staten Island’s huge express bus fleet is warranted. There are numerous ways to get to the various parts of Queens from Manhattan, same with the other boroughs. Staten Island is quite isolated, and the only ways to get down there excluding express buses require numerous transfers and long trips in between.
While we could do with new coach bus order to knock out the older MCI’s, the Prevost’s in Staten Island were a much needed addition. The SIM network has to be the most utilized express network out of all the boroughs, just because of the lack of a proper connection to Manhattan.
