@@nathanb2100 correct and I can only hope there will always be people who buy to be different as it is good to have options / alternatives - one does with his/her money what one wants and I can see the appeal of AM cars this one included - but very often it also means buying something that is handicapped from the zero hour in many areas albeit some will never know any better...
Great review of a great car. I think sourcing the Merc engines was the right idea. The design of new Aston's are very good and contemporary, but I do miss the older classic Aston look.......but that is maybe just a sign of age......then again, just look at $ that folks pay on Bring a Trailer, Cars and Bids, etc. for old Astons.
Unfortunately for AM (and all others bar Ferrari and specialists like Pagani, Ariel, Caterham and the like) Porsche will remain a problem: when it comes to personal money most will spend it on Porsche - The engineering of the cars (leaving here aesthetics aside but have a look at the almost infinite combinations one can spec...), The residuals, The maintenance, The insurance and more important than all the rest: The Porsche system > it is a system which is supported by an enormous network of specialists (racing, service, parts & special parts engineering parts distribution...you name it...) like no other and one that nobody will ever match during our lifetimes and as long as petrol / gas remains around and the only real threat...the only thing that can possibly (if it improves from its current shambolic form) kill it is...electricity and... short sighted legislators
Well, if you want largely a similar experience, try an F-Type. You won’t have any problems with the sound. Huge dealer network. Sure, you might lose some bragging rights, but it’s got a better interior and the performance is on par.
Is the Vantage Roadster the best Aston on sale today? Let us know...
I wish I could test all of the Aston Martin range on twisty Cali canyon roads and answer your question.
Yes, it is the best. Aston Martin Vantage 🚀🚀🚀
Great review. Well done
Personally, I love this Aston 😃👍. Striking looks, a 503bhp V8 and no roof. What more could you want? :).
A Porsche is the answer...
@@sixpotshot well yes, but that's an obvious choice.

James is like the new Tiff (plus a little Hugo Weaving). Good video.
Thanks Michael! 😂😂
Nice review. I'm still on the fence with AM's current design language. Having said that ... you make the car seem pretty appealing. Cheers
Glad you enjoyed!

“I wish my afterthoughts looked and drove and sounded like this” 😄 James Dennison, 2021
I wish this guy would tell me something different that I don't know already from other reviewers

Very true
My dream car

Is it that difficult to put a modern info system?
Its not rocket science.
I'd rather get a lightly used 2016-18 Vanquish with NA V12 for same or lower price
James- You went on and on explaining and describing structural rigidity...... but then never commented how solid (or not) the Vantage was 🤦🏻♂️
Is it me or does it look like a large Mazda MX5 from the front?
My one to go if you want convertible 😍
Interior needs an upgrade.
Why does this presenter look like Doogie Houser but talk like Quentin Wilson?
