    Also, instead of using a bamboo wrap in plastic wrap, I used a silicone sushi wrapper that I found on Amazon, and it worked well!

    Also: if you're struggling with the rice, which is what I always found to be the most difficult part, this is what I do.
    For 2 cups of rice, to 2 and a quarter cups of water:
    Rinse the rice until the water runs clear, then soak the rice for 30 minutes in water.
    Put the rice in a pot, and make sure the pot has a lid that fits snugly.
    Bring the rice to a boil, and the minute the rice has come to a boil, turn it down to a simmer and set a timer for 15 minutes. DO NOT LIFT THE LID. Don't lift it while bringing it to a boil and don't lift it to check. I know it's tempting, but don't lift the lid. It lets all the steam out.
    Once the 15 minutes is up, move the pot off the heat, (once again, DO NOT LIFT THE LID), and wait another 15 minutes.
    You should have perfectly cooked, fluffy sushi rice :) works for other rices as well, I've found.

      Hey thanks so much for watching and commenting, there is no real answer to give you it it depends how hungry you are, as a rule of thumb I would say 2 whole rolls per person. But I am a greedy guts lol

      Can I use regular white vinegar instead?

    • @Cookingforthemissus
      @Cookingforthemissus  3 года назад +1

      I wouldn’t personally as it’s much more bitter, if you where going to try it I would add some sugar to the vinegar to sweeten it. But I still wouldn’t recommend it

      Very informative video, Subbed. You've truly inspired me to start making sushi on my channel, thank you Chef. I've always done American dishes, from burgers, steaks, sandwiches, to BBQ, to Italian, French, Mexican, European inspired dishes, Thai dishes, etc... I'm a massive lover of Sushi, for some reason never thought I could make it, or to try to make it. Thank you again Chef... cheers.
