No it is silly to do this on 4c hair without blow drying or so much as detangling first. You’re not going to get the best results that way and that’s why she was struggling smh
This is just not how straightening properly works. There's a reason very single salon offering silk presses and straightenings blow dry the hair first. If a straightener is making coily hair that straight on the first pass then it's way over the heat capacity your hair can handle, else, it will almost always be unsatisfactory not that straight or flowy hair..
The brush isn’t made for hair that is not blown out and that makes a lot of sense. It’ll fall out more than the hair not being blown out /combed out. Just like if she used a flat iron, it wouldn’t work either. Use common sense
I think it would be helpful to detangle, stretch or blowdry the hair first and apply a heat protectant. Since we know 4C hair loves shrinkage, it's going to take a bit more prep 💕

My little girl.has this type of.hair and the straightener won't go through without it being detangled. This is the best review I've seen that is relatable to my daughters hair type so thank you. Normal straighteners and heat brushes won't straight my daughters hair properly and don't get near the scalp either

Thank you for making this video. I bought this straightening comb about a month ago but I've been afraid of using it because of the possible heat damage. I hope you do a follow up video on if you had any heat damage. Im glad you featured trimming your hair too. That's exactly what I want to do after straightening my hair. Hey Beautiful!! Thanks for this because my daughter has 4c hair. Also, if you get some shears to cut your hair, it's MUUUUCH easier to trim. Walmart had them for like $13. Very worth it. Plus, regular scissors pull your hair and don't give an even cut. Have a wonderful day, love!💖

I'm glad I found this video, too. I just purchased the Tymo Ring hair straightener. I have 4b and 4c hair in certain areas. I don't straighten my natural hair but want to try it with this straightener. Thank you for testing it on your 4c hair with no blow drying.
Great video. Remember a wide tooth comb is best when you detangle in small sections. CHI Heat protectant is a great brand to use on your hair before applying any heat. I hope this helps.

Happy New Year!! I purchased after reading reviews on Amazon and watching your video.. I haven't trimmed my ends in awhile so wanted to straighten it. I did hot oil treatment overnight, a shampoo,conditioner, deep conditioner, masque etc but didn't have straightening cream to really straighten it. Def need a few passes to get it straight. I feel my electronic hot comb straightens it about the same. Only difference is the Tymo is a brush format so the back doesnt get so hot as the hot comb.
I think I am the only one old enough to remember, but isn't this just a pressing comb re-branded? Nothing straightened better than the comb on the stove. But even an electric pressing comb will do.

I am a guy, I wish this existed back in the day. I had long hair but then at I went bald at 25 lol. It was fun doing my hair. If I have daughters I'll know what to do for their hair. I just like to learn that's all. I don't like being forced into a role. I've done a lot of things over the years. From painting to physics.
I am bald now, so at some point I'll have a daughter in my life. For now I am learning software XD. I am enjoying my first 35 years doing what I want. When I have children, I'll have all the skills to help them start in some way for their potential future. Unfortunately I can't teach them how to master it because I am a master of none.

I was here hoping it would be my holy grail, this and the Revlon one step dryer brush.. but one look at them reviews had me super concerned. Plus the models using it usually were doing it on already straightened hair 🤨 and on some of the most compliant 4c I ever seen. So hot oil treatments and a hot comb it is I guess 🤦🏿♀️

Part hair in sections spray heat protectant then blow dry first … then use the brush you’d have better results & less struggle….
After i wash detangle...detangle...detangle..thn blow dry on low..detangle..i just give up on straightening i be so tired lol..i end up putting a wig on or brading my hair with honey blonde..i see so much length but my 4z hair is a project

Honestly, you should blow dried your hair first…of course it’s not gonna run through smoothly. It’s a hot comb..even with regular hot combs you have to blow dry your hair first.
Those scissors were terrible. You need cutting shears for hair.

I bought something similar many years ago and the problem is when you start to put the oils and all the Syrians are stuff in your hair and you start to use this product eventually what happens the calm starts to get clogged up and overheated with the chemicals and it starts to smell and you can smell the sofa in the hair where it's been burnt so for our kind of here it's very difficult because we have to add products to our here We just cannot blow dry the hair without putting some heat protection on it this is whether it's a problem with the comb

My hair is just like yours. Why would you let you hair dry without blow drying it. I put leave in conditioner in my hair and detangle when I deep condition it(every wash). Otherwise I can’t comb it at all. 4C hair has mad hair shrinkage!!!! Tiny Afro can be shoulder length hair. Black Girl Magic😂😂😂.
