Or for example, if you steal a Moto G5 Plus that is secured with a finger print or pin.
FYI: The notice for the Google account and password is for you to re-access all the apps and settings you have on the device through your Google account, prior to hard reset. NOT to use the phone itself. Which is why they give you the option to set up as new. So if you did steal this phone you CAN still use this device.

please help , my g5s+ just did the same thing . but on my setting i was turn on the "add password when it turn on" it was make you to add the password after the phone turn on , but it cant used if you not type/draw the password . is the trick just the same?? please help...
