I am an A+ certified computer technician with an associates degree in network engineering and data security so i probably know more about this then you. He did not "hack" it (btw this is the 21st century and no one says hack any more). He built his own custom firmware and uploaded it to the machines firmware chip. If he "hacked" the machine it would still have the original firmware on it.

Then, the banks insurance coverage fees go up. In order to cover the rise in those insurance fees, the bank charges us, the customer more. Next thing you know, you're paying (for example) $5 in fees just to withdraw your own $ from an ATM. Companies and banks are only in business to make $. Period. If they lose money due to theft, they make it back from us, the consumer.
