New subscriber! You got a big thumbs up from me! Awesome video! I am a Webb note historian as I fell in love with the whole Webb note experiment and this by far was the best video I’ve seen on you tube to date regarding this not so talked about topic. You forgot to mention the natick test paper fiasco of 76 (series 77) where Webb print style machinery was used as an efficiency experiment utilizing paper from Natick Labs instead of the regular paper previously used on all US currency. The machines supposedly had an error detection mechanism that failed and a boat load of notes were printed with the serial numbers and seals upside. By the time human eyes set eyes on the errors there were bricks already sent into circulation. (A brick of dollar notes contains 4000 units). Short story long, notes from series 77 with or without error can be identified similarly to the Webb notes of 88A, 93 and 95. Easiest way to identify is looking at the back of the note, back plate number located on top right next to the word “trust” instead of the bottom right corner. So if you find any 77 series notes definitely keep an eye out for the natick test paper notes cuz they can be worth a pretty penny.

I work for the town sanitation and I find money in garbage all the time. About 7 years ago I was working and I thought a box into the back of the truck and I heard the sound of change. When I looked it was a box of letters from WWII and inside was a small bag with change of coins from the places he traveled through different countries during the war different types of coins. But I look a few coins online and a few website had different prices but great find.
He served for one month but the '63B series was printed for eight months as it took time for a new series to be engraved and reach the presses. As such, Barr notes are not all that rare because they were collected in large quantity between 1968 - 1970 as everyone at the time jumped on the band wagon expecting them to be rare. Incidentally, series 1969 - 1969D are way more rare because they were printed for a short time but lacked the notoriety of the preceding Barr notes and weren't saved in quantity as a result.

GREAT VIDEO SILVERPICKER!!! I just subscribed. I have no problem exchanging a dollar bill for 5 dollars, I had no idea about this but i'm going to be looking from now on!
I have a $20 bill from the early 80’s that was part of a recall. The ink was bad and flakes off when folded. My bill is uncirculated perfect. I tested the bills on either side of it in the serial number range, and the ink flaked off both. The bank teller told me that they were being recalled, so I asked to keep one. Been in a plastic holder since then.
Quick question...If you received the bill (and others apparently in numbers sequence) from your Bank teller and there was a recall on them, why would the teller give them to you, to begin with? Only to take them back from you? Also, In my opinion...this would not be considered "uncirculated" condition. Maybe I just didn't understand your comment🙃🤔
I USED to have a 1977 $20 dollar bill, a 1969 $20, and a literally like-new perfect condition 1950 $20! (I gave them to my father for safekeeping, he being a bit of an amateur numismatist and all, but since his passing four years ago, I have not been able to locate any of those three! :( I really don't know what became of them....but, are they even worth anything? And, if so, how much?)
@@thisbandreallystix Yes they have collector value but it is hard to give an assessment without knowing the districts and serial numbers (being star notes would add value). If the 1950 $20 note is as like-new perfect as you describe, let's say it's worth around $30 +/-. But without more details it's hard to give a more accurate estimate.
Thank you for your info my dad passed away he was vice president of federal researve and i got alot pf stuff from him right from mint but i no longer have his help so i thank you for your videos
My old job was a produce/ice cream place. When I went to go get more ones for the register I noticed the strap of 50 was mostly all 1988a and a couple 1993 and 1995s and I’m like this is odd so I’ll keep them all. And I wound up needing money one time and was about to spend them but something told me not to. So a year later I learned about webnotes and checked them. Turns out I now have 50 webnotes and some are consecutive!! Crazy how I almost spent them.
Nice video, but you didnt mention where to sell online. Are there specific sites that people use that are looking for these notes? Do some sites seem to pay better than others?
Just checked all my old wad I’d $1 bills ... no web notes ... subscribed and 👍🏼 I do have a lot of silver Mexican coins that I have to have looked over .
I have some bills that I think are rather unique, but seeing that I haven't really got a clue,I'm hoping you can help out a "new-bee" !? I have 4 $20.00 bills,*notes, that are in sequence. I've never sold on e-bay. Should these be listed individually or as the set of 4? I also have 6 bills, one $1.00 and 5 $20.'s, that have fancy serial #'s. The dollar having 3-2s and 5-7's. One twenty has 4-1's an 4-2's and all 8 added equal 12.
If you were to find one, where do you sell it and what resources can you share where we can determine how rare that particular specimen is and it's worth so people are not taken advantage of?
There's no estimated "worth" on these bills. They are simply worth, what someone's willing to pay/offer/bid. I recommend looking at "sold for" prices, on eBay.
Are web notes including each denomination, or is it solely the dollar bill? Aside from that, now I have something new to add to my collection, web notes, and that's awesome.
I adhered to a hare-brained, painless, savings scheme (that actually worked)from the mid 80s until about 2010 where, at the end of each day, any one dollar bills you find in your pocket, you set them aside. I had read about it in some old book. Turned out storage was a real problem, but we managed. Guess it’s time to start sifting lol.
Wow that's wild! I love the idea. However, I think you could make your money grow faster if at the end of the month you put it in a CD (at least) or even a mutual fund or something

Intaglio printing isn't as you describe.. multiple passes aren't intaglio. Stee engraved plates used under pressure to produce Raised Print is intaglio. Front and back of US currency is intaglio printed. The seal and serial number are over printed.
I thought I had a web note then he mentioned looking on the back and even though I have the series 1988 A with an interesting G and 4 x 7 as the numbers, on the back under the E is 203, so not all 1988A are the same
Thanks for the info...subbed. Question: how many do you figure are in circulation? Just a calculated guess would be appreciated! Your content is done very well. Quick, to the point educated info that doesn't confuse or become boring. Great job!
Do these notes generally not last as long as regular notes? I remember a around this time period (late 80s early 90s) when I'd find an oddly large number of bills that have 'faded'.
Those bills were printed with the intaglio method, but they were using a different type ink than usual. It was meant to give the bills a rough texture that counterfeits made by color computer printers wouldn't have. Unfortunately, the ink could literally be scrapped off the bills which gave it the faded look you are describing.
What is that weird flicker at 4:20? The one where he slides his finger up the bill and it looks like the left side of the dollar bill slides up and is replaced. It appears to be the same but....
I have just about all gold seal, blue, red but not one web note or a Barr note. This was a very informative video and I can see why you have such great videos. You have the right length, great content. I was like #700. Great work Silverpicker. All the best ~ Shirl

I love going through bills never found a web note but silver certificates come up decently.
Bro I'm so glad I found you I was looking through my wallet and noticed I have a 100 dollar bill from 1990 that's a web note that's crazy!
It's so sad how outrageously wasteful American society is. Thankfully, you were there to rescue the priceless letters and coins.
That 63 note is very rare, it's a Joseph W. Barr note. He only served for one month. That's one to Keep. Great video.......
Wow, I just learned something new!! I love learning new things about coins and currency!!
I love finding out interesting things about old change and bank notes!
Recently discovered numismatics and as you can imagine I am hooked. Love history. Love archaeology. Loving this new yet historically significant world. Thank you!
Welcome to the club!

I have a few web notes that are in numerical order, in GREAT condition...think I'll hang onto them.
Idk why anyone wld complain I was pretty impressed when you said $4-20 or $5-$100! Even to quadruple ones money is fantastic for the low price of learning what to look for which you provided for free! Coffee money or even q weekend getaway if one was to do it every payday! Its kinda like gambling without the risk! Whats better than that?
Exactly! I was thinking, Hey, if I find 5 of these, and they're worth a buck and a quarter, it's worth the 5 minutes it'll take me to look. But $4?! Groovy!
@@keetrandling4530 Really! Think how many people will go to the trouble to look at the cap on the Coca-Cola brand drinks to get a song download! Why not just do a download of the RUclips video?
GREAT VIDEO SILVERPICKER!!! I just subscribed. I have no problem exchanging a dollar bill for 5 dollars, I had no idea about this but i'm going to be looking from now on!
I have a $20 bill from the early 80’s that was part of a recall. The ink was bad and flakes off when folded. My bill is uncirculated perfect. I tested the bills on either side of it in the serial number range, and the ink flaked off both. The bank teller told me that they were being recalled, so I asked to keep one. Been in a plastic holder since then.
That is really cool. What's the value on that you think?
You should check with the local banks to verify your father didn't have a safe deposit box.
Thank you for your info my dad passed away he was vice president of federal researve and i got alot pf stuff from him right from mint but i no longer have his help so i thank you for your videos

Great stuff! Sounds like you've got a great banknote source.
Just started this with coins and bills came up with ur channel I am so surprised, I have so many old coins am going to see ur videos.... Thanks
Did you ever find out what they are worth?
@@paulaw3399 yes actually! Some are around $20 and some are Apparently $180? I believe
That's such a cool story!

Where are the Monkeys?
Nice video, but you didnt mention where to sell online. Are there specific sites that people use that are looking for these notes? Do some sites seem to pay better than others?
You had a Barr note there also. I have that one not uncommon but people still collect and sell those too
Just got a 1953 red seal $2 bill at work. Not really worth anything, but it’s really cool
I would think that it would be. You may find a collector that would want it.
I bet it’s worth $2.00 at least! Lol.
I also have 6 bills,one $1.00 and 5 $20.'s, that have fancy serial #'s. The dollar having 3-2s and 5-7's. One twenty has 4-1's an 4-2's and all 8 added equal 12.
If you were to find one, where do you sell it and what resources can you share where we can determine how rare that particular specimen is and it's worth so people are not taken advantage of?
Go to Ebay, and look at the common prices for these!
There's no estimated "worth" on these bills. They are simply worth, what someone's willing to pay/offer/bid. I recommend looking at "sold for" prices, on eBay.
Great video. Love the style. Very descriptive. Way better then other people's videos.
Are web notes including each denomination, or is it solely the dollar bill?
Aside from that, now I have something new to add to my collection, web notes, and that's awesome.
WEB NOTES are $1.00 (Dollar) Bills ONLY.
I have some $2 and $1 old seal bills that also been cut short on one side, and a $1 bill that been double print about 3/4 in on right side of bill
Wait a minute.. Dollars are worth money?
Yea, about fifty cents.
Yes, but only 4 cents compared to 1913 dollars worth!
Boy if you knew
Apparently but to a very small group of collectors and they don't seem to have a big budget.
No they’re worth shillings

Intaglio printing isn't as you describe.. multiple passes aren't intaglio.
Stee engraved plates used under pressure to produce Raised Print is intaglio.
Front and back of US currency is intaglio printed.
The seal and serial number are over printed.
Really appreciate the clarification.
Thank you for the information I will keep a lookout for them
I thought I had a web note then he mentioned looking on the back and even though I have the series 1988 A with an interesting G and 4 x 7 as the numbers, on the back under the E is 203, so not all 1988A are the same
Thanks for the info...subbed. Question: how many do you figure are in circulation? Just a calculated guess would be appreciated!
Your content is done very well. Quick, to the point educated info that doesn't confuse or become boring. Great job!
ALOT.
Question- does this only pertain to tho One Dollar Bills ?... Thank You in advance 🤔

What is that weird flicker at 4:20? The one where he slides his finger up the bill and it looks like the left side of the dollar bill slides up and is replaced. It appears to be the same but....
is that why there were a lot of bills were off-center up and down or side to side, i thought those should have been mistakes

I thought you would talk about serial numbers. For example, I have a $5 bill with a serial number ending in 1111, which is a 1/10K chance.
I have several other videos on that topic :)
