You are pretty much the only person who posted a video of this spotlight and motion sensor. ( I searched a lot on youtube..!) Thank you! Only thing I would like to ask you is, how your cameras view when the spotlight is on in pitch black ? do they stay in black & white mode, or color ? I have Blink XT2 cameras. my garage lights are 3000K/650 lumens, it's bright enough but the camera quality is still terrible, not much different from no light..
Exactly. Been looking for reviews and this is the second Ive seen of this. I wish they would have named the light different. The reviews for the camera keeps popping up
@@rko32491 ; Wonder if the lack reviews is related to the large amount of dust that I noticed accumulated on the boxes of the two ring spotlights that I just purchased from Home Depot? Must have been sitting on the shelf for God knows how long due to lack of demand for these devices in comparison to the much more popular ring spotlight and floodlight cameras .... lol. ...
Question: Could the separate motion sensor be connected to ring cameras? So that when the motion sensor is tripped then the ring cameras start recording. I have a camera above the garage on a property with a few aces. It only alerts me if motion when it is 30 feat out. An area of concern is roughly 100ft out. I am missing events that I would like to see. I would want to put a motion sensor on a tree over there so camera can start recording and catch what was there. If this is possible, what all would I need to set it up? The existing camera, motion sensor, and bridge. Is there anything I’m missing?
Hi Steve and all Ring Users, I have question about Ring Bridge. Does the Bridge works without having any Ring Light products. I need my Ring Video doorbell to start recording a little faster by installing a Ring Motion Sensor that detects motions few metres away, sends signal to the Ring App by connecting to Ring Bridge. Will this works without any Ring Light products
It should... As the ring mailbox sensor for instance uses the same motion detector, and it can be linked to a ring camera to automatically start recording when someone opens your mailbox.
Everyone laugh till it happen to them😮. I got security system way bacc in '08 and they all said the same things😊 . Got footage of a suspicious individual looking at my car and a would be package thief . I was paying attention that day😅
4 "D" size .... Naturally Alkaline types strongly recommended.... And for me personally, thank heavens for the low cost "Amazon Basics" batteries. Since I have the ring battery floodlight and two spots for a total of 12 D batteries needed each year... 😳 ...
My guess would be both the cost of a substantial redesign of the original "Mr. Beams" motion light design these ring smart lights are based on and therefore largely defeating the entire purpose of ring acquiring that company to begin with.
I wish a "spot" light actually acts like a spotlight in the true sense. How is this spotlight different from other motion sensor lights? I want a spotlight to focus specifically on a "spot." I want this effect because I want an intruder to feel like he or she is the target of attention.
The irony is the original "Mr. Beams" product line of motion detector lights were real spotlight type lights in the 5000K temp. range. But after ring's purchase of the company back in '18, they converted the LED lights to diffused floodlight types around the 3000K range.
@@antonioterrell354 No surprise here with the current snowflake society. Ring probably didn't want criminals to feel bad anymore as if they didn't anything wrong. They are good citizens who don't deserve a spotlight on them.
Gave this a thumbs up, until I looked at the comments and saw that he doesn't answer questions. I did not give a thumbs down. I simply took away my thumb.
Honestly battery is nice because some homes don't get nearly enough sun to consistently power anything by solar. It's super convenient and nice when it works out in your favor but so many homes probably can't do anything about that.
I wish you explained about the bridge piece that is required.

How long does the light stay on and is it custimizable?
Thanks for the video. I like it with the censor, works perfect with the fence. I just purchased one but now have to go back and get the sensor.
Can I use it as a spotlight for the flower bed to light up from the bottom -> up?

Great review and you have a beautiful backyard.
Can someone answer: Will 4 spotlights with 1 bridge and one smart motion sensor allow all four to light up at the same time?
Hi Steve do I need to have the sensor for the light to work? I just bought 2 lights and the bridge. I thought the lights have a sensor
Where did you buy the extra motion sensor ?
How long will light stay on for
What is the battery life
4D batteries, up to a year
@@ashakash7795 Thank you so much
Is there anyway to operate the light without the ring bridge?
It still works, just no connectivity with other devices.
@@ericlancaster2889 oh okay, so I can still control it with my phone even if I don’t have the bridge?
@@chuchopalm3063 No, it will just be a light. No connectivity.
@@ericlancaster2889looking to buy one. So the motion sensor that turns on the light still works without the bridge correct?
How do you link the spotlight cam with motion censor, no mention of connectivity.
Ring Bridge.
Love your videos, Steve! Can I use a motion sensor with the Ring Flood Cam Pro or Plus? Would I need a bridge? Thanks in advance.
can you make them stay on for 2 hours or so??
Great review and how the light works & motion detector!
Did you need the ring smart lighting bridge for the lights?
Or did it work without?
I think you need it
You need the bridge, no way around it. ...
In fact the requirement is even printed on the box the lights come in ....
Beautiful yard!

How can I get rid of a drawn box that I mistakenly add for my ring pro 3?
Make up box down below and high do.
Dam how many cameras do you need ?
Poor area.
there the fake ones lols

How long do the batteries last ?
Around a year under regular use
Good review! 👍🏼
Hi Buddy what type of bateries should we use
4 D sized batteries
Why can’t they just use the same batteries as the ring cameras..

It would add approx $60 USD to the light. 😂

I don’t understand why you’d want a motion scensor AND a motion scensor light. Seems like a gimmick to make more money if you ask me.
Video is worthless if the one making it dont answer any question (not following)

Grammar in the comments is just horrific.
