Kody had an opportunity to do an interview with People Magazine. As mentioned previously, Kody and Robyn are full on in their image rehabilitation campaign. Kody is trying to come off as a new spirit. A forgiving soul. A misunderstood protagonist. Truth is, he's the same old guy with new shoes. He is still holding himself out to be the victim in the destruction of his family. He isn't taking any accountability for the things that he did wrong. We're not falling for it.

Christine was the only wife constantly calling Kody out for being a shitty dad. Janelle and Robyn constantly defended him because he spent the majority of his time with their children. Getting called out for shit you've done is not trash talking. They haven't even said anything that's not true. He can't even defend himself

But he fully expects them to cater to and support his emotional needs. "Are You a strong enough woman to help me heal after this breakup?" Nope. Because if the wives are solely responsible for their emotional state and relationships, so should you be.

It reminds me of when Kotex’s friend was so rude to the wives and told him he should drop all but one and Christine was so upset, but Kotex refused to stand up for her or validate her feelings. Yes, that was the clincher for me when he made fun of her feelings, belittled her & made a comment about her monthly estate!! I was sooo angry! I also was annoyed with the other wives that didn't stand behind her & against Baldylocks remarks & behavior!

I don't think Kody is asking forgiveness for himself. I think he is talking about him trying to give forgiveness to all of the family members who wronged him. He is now going to be this noble guy who is ready to put the sins of others behind him. Look what a great guy he is.

James, as we have said alll season long Its all Ego Baby, and now Mr. Ego himself wants us to massage his ego, what he doesnt realize is that his behavior made 3 women leave him in under 2 years, he never thought Christine would leave and she was also the heart of the family which hurt him more. Kody knew the kids would leave if she did and that is what happened .
When Kody was giving the women jewelry they never asked for or wanted (except Robyn), it was like an affirmation of the roles he wanted them to play. They went a step further and tried to sell these customized designs to the public. Sometimes the gifts we give people can smack of self-promotion!
I honestly think Kody never DREAMED the kids would leave too. He was doing all he could to drive the women away. But in his mind, HE was the heart of the family and the wives could leave, but the kids would side with him and shun the women for breaking up the family. Much like Christine did her own mom when she left. But to his dismay, he discovered that he really wasn't the heart of the family at all, and the kids not only walked away when Christine left, but basically the other two wives did too. Because, let's face it, who really wants to be left alone with K&R and her kids.

I love how Robin wants the others to give her permission to have stolen their husband, and to be greedy with him. The narcissism between the two of them overflows and exudes that huge house they live in. They’re not gonna make it. No one can stay with egos that big in the same house.

My dad literally did the same thing with my mom. He hadn't seen us for a couple of years and when my mom was making a plan to take us on vacation to Yellowstone he threw a big fit. So when my mom compromised and let us go on "vacation" with him We ended up just sitting in the back of his tractor trailer while he did a route Across the country for a job and then he didn't even stop to take us Disney World or anything like that to make it an actual vacation. We drove right past it to drop off his load (heart breaking as a 8 yr old) We were just tagging along on a job But it had to be his way or nothing.

He still doesn’t get it. Sure, nothing wrong with forgiving yourself, but you also have to own up to your grievances, and he still isn’t doing that. He doesn’t get to go, “ok! I’m done being angry! Let’s all be one big happy family again!” No, he made it perfectly clear where his priorities are and they aren’t with Janelle and Christine’s kids! He needs to understand he inflicted a lot of deep hurt, and it’s going to take time and effort for his children to be comfortable around him again.
Kody can't get forgiveness till he admits his own faults. Unless he means he intends to dispense forgiveness, not seek it.

Or refuse to be by Isybel's side when she was having major surgery. Or refuse to call, be there or give gifts to Savannah on her birthday or christmas. Or refuse to be an aware/alert parent making sure baby Truley was eating/drinking properly so she wouldn't wind up in the hospital. Or refuse to call Gabriel on his birthday, making that poor boy cry for his father. The list goes on and on......
To your last point about it being the “Kody Show.” I do think this is truly where his real anger lays. The women have upstaged him and that will always be unforgivable to him. He remains a shell of a human being without all the qualities the wives possess and contributed. He needs to rebuild much more than “confidence “ he needs to tear apart the old model and make himself a new Kody because that kit came broke, Amazon style.

Once my kids were older, I limited my interaction with my ex. It was so freeing. After years of manipulation when younger, I only had to be in his presence at graduation and a wedding. He’s passed since, but it was so much easier to be civil and not have to be the in between once kids were older.

His main issue is he is blaming Christine and Janelle for leaving as the reason the kids have 'sided' with them. He fails to take responsibility for abandoning them all during Covid. When it is shoved in his face, he blames Robyn. He will look at her and say they all blame you or say sarcastically, its all your fault. (I believe she made the rules, but he didnt put up an argument against it, nor side with his kids/family on anything that goes against her rules). He is absolutely unable to accept any kind of fault in himself. He even tries to say the mothers wont give him access to his kids. Those kids are grown adults and half dont even live in the same State as their mothers. The audacity that man has is truly unbelievable.

Exactly. Where I went to was when Christine was stating they'd been in Flagstaff for 800 days and Kody did stuff with them 3 times. And Kody's defense was that he was busy and didn't have as much time to play as Christine did. We all get that work life balance is hard. But hanging out 3 times in 800 days .... that means you're an acquaintance not a dad. And Kody can forgive himself but that doesn't mean the others are gonna forgive him or want to have a relationship with him. God he's an ass.

I figure Kody's PR team wrote that speech for him as part of the rehab storyline. Kody would definitely not allow anyone to put any blame on him. If the PR team wants to get paid they'll need to go with Kody's version of reality. The reallity is that the PR team has a job to do to get paid. Much like lawyers when defending their clients - it is not the PR team's job to judge Kody as right or wrong, they're just doing the job they're paid to do.

I agree that Kody thought this show was about himself, that it's his show, and he expected to have millions of adoring fans. Instead, he reminded way too many women of their ex-husbands. (As an aside, I remember a political satirist saying that Hillary Clinton reminded too many men of their ex-wives.)
Kody needs to sit down with all of his kids and wives and apologize to them that he is sorry for all the bad things that he has said about them and yes his Covid rules he could have handled better and that he was wrong spending all his time with Robin and her kids. Only thing is he won't do that and if I were his kids I would tell him that he needs to repaid their mothers all the money that him and Robin took from them and I know that is something that Kody is never gone to do. Kody will never change unfortunately and it is sad but all those legal kids need to just keep him away from them and start to live a new and happier life without Kody.

Kody hears TRUTH as TRASH. I think this is because he is wired to only see through his eyes. He really believes he was performing his duties masterfully and was done wrong by all. I don’t think his mind can be re-wired, so seeing what he did wrong isn’t possible. I think Robyn is fully aware of wrong that was done, but just plays her part until she can figure out her next move. Kody is not bright, but thinks he is. Robyn seems slick and knows Kody can be played.

What’s the saying “The proof is in the pudding”? Then the other one is “I’ll believe it when I see it”. I’d like to hear the kids, in an independent interview, talk about how his dad has gotten help and is consistently correcting his behavior and healing his relationships.
His approach is always “how can I get benefit from the relationship, sound bite, photo op…” It is often looking as though he’s trying to use trending psychology to diagnose his own issues and how others have hurt him. He says he wants to be this strong man, “real man”, but then falls right back into victim mentality and the one who’s been wronged. It’s wearing thin and really boring when it’s all he ever goes to in interviews and conversations.
