- Secret Garages fascinate me. You never know what to expect and in the case of the Hamilton Collection, it’s never static because Archie Hamilton is a wheeler-dealer & the cars you see here are for sale. There are some absolute pearls!!
I’ve raced against Archie in the past both at Le Mans in a Ferrari GTE as well as in a Can Am off roader in an imaginary Lego world… I had no idea that he’s the grandson of Duncan Hamilton who won Le Mans in 1953, despite giving up in the race when his car died and heading to the pub.. Lofty England, Jaguar’s infamous Team boss, roused Duncan and his co-drivers from the bar and threw them into the car to snatch an unlikely victory.
Anyway.. this collection has an eclectic mix of wicked Rally hatches, some unusual hypercars and some ultra rare racing cars.. one of my favourites being the Rover SD1 because the first model I knew my Dad driving (wildly) and the SD1 was the daddy of Touring Car racing back in the day. I’m hoping to persuade Archie to take this one on track in a subsequent video so I’m buttering him up.
I’m blown away by your support in subscribing to my channel so please let me know in the comments which cars from this collection you would like to see driven - then I’ll twist Archie’s arm 😉

Which of these race cars would you take home/take on track?? 👇👇
I agree with you, the G. C Jag would be an amazing drive. Nordschleife here I come.
Not the Mini 🤣
Unquestionably the 98 Aston Martin. It always appeals to me in any setting. I was at Bathurst to watch the John Goss/Armin Hahne Jaguar though so it is a close second. I was there to see you at Bathurst in 2009 Ben. I've been there almost 40 times starting in 1967, last time 2018.
I'm with you on the Silk...cuz power to weight ratio is hard to beat Ben.
Without question, that Valentino Rossi R8. Damn, what a machine! Nice vid.
That "green Aston Martin" is a DB4 GT Zagato. One of my very favourite shaped cars.
Probably worth as much as the rest of the collection :)
Archie did say, "Zagato." So, he wasn't wrong.
Two styles of presenting, two styles of racing, and two different appreciations of the automobile. Great video, I admire the both of you
I think you should buy one of those cars and take it on track
My uncle took my to see the 24 hours of Leman when I was 9. The first ever thing I saw was a Jaguar Silk Cut spin out right in the corner we were at.
then we went at night, the pit lane straight: the roaring and long flames out of the exhaust! Epic...
What a great video Ben and Archie. Two quite different approaches and styles, but it worked for me.
I love the Group C cars, Jag's (XJR-9 has a special place in my heart) and Porsches. Sweet, monster, visceral machines! 😃
There is nothing Sadder, than a fully working race car sat in a museum. It is nice to know that this collection is going to be sold to people who want to race them. Even if it’s only a few times a year, just to stretch its legs at Goodwood, or one of the classic hill climbs. 👍
It's not a collection, just a showroom.
We need to see some of these driven on track, sort it out guys 🏁
YOu are getting better and better at presenting where your knowledge and experience plus the little snippet descriptions enliven what could well be a banal 20 minute monologue . How could a superb Audi become worth less than scrap!! Excellent stuff. Thanks
Huge fan of the C5R corvettes. Absolutely love those!
Would like to see more representation in sim racing wink wink
Same here! They're AWESOME bits of kit.
that XJS is pure TWR style. living in the states in late 70's to current. it was very rare to find televised british car racing but im british twice removed so my grandparents would bring back corgi car and flake bars, my uncle was a car guy having all kinds of the best brit cars from rolls to lotus. he was a sportscar racing fanatic and sent me all kinds of stuff from his favorite Tom Walkinshaw Racing. i loved the XJC coupes wide crazy widebodies but the XJS was my dream. your car looks every bit like the cars TWR raced. not to be second fiddle but a SILK-CUT Jaguar bloody hell. you cheeky buggers hiding this from us. LOL. a sincere thank you forsharing this extraordinary collection.by the way you 720 in menacing evil looking.top notch build mate. cheers
The car looks every bit like the cars TWR raced because it IS the ex-works Group A ETCC and Bathurst winner.
so its got great history. it certainly seems that only the finest of the fine are sold here. outstanding gents. cheers@@marks7197
The Group 44 Jaguar XJS is my favorite tin top in that room but I’m biased, having grown up attending SCCA races in the Midwest where Group 44 were regular entries. Their cars were so perfect, everything from a Midget and Spitfire 😢to GT6, TR6, TR7, Jaguar XKE v12 and then when the team turned to professional racing in Trans Am and IMSA, TR8 & the XJS. My favorite open wheel car is the Matra, how could you guys waltz past the Matra with its V12??? Great video sir!
can’t believe they walked by the 1985 Bathurst winning group A TWR Jag without a glance or a mention 🇦🇺
Haha yes yes they walked past it twice with me talking to the computer and saying stop.
Every car there has provenance and worthy of its own fearure. Just spoilt for choice, really, and a 20 minute video can only give a brief insight to a small number of cars. I thought they featured a good variety of cars.
I was shouting at the computer! Epic car!
The Ferguson four-wheel drive F1 car immediately caught my eye...
Though I must say, my eyes wandered a lot in this video, so many beauties abound!
Thanks for coming down Ben!
When will we see you drive one of these?
@@morphman21 Hopefully soon sir!
@@ArchieHamiltonRacingwhen will we see Ben on your channel again?
How embarrassed were you after this video? You need to spend less time on social media and more time educating yourself.
Thanks for welcoming me in! Had a great time and can't wait to take out some of the cars soon 😉
Ben, like so many of us I've been following you since before I had a clue who you were. I really like what you're doing here. Keep it up!
I appreciate that!
Ben is just such a cool cat - highlighted when in the company of Hamilton Jnr.
The Group 44 looks very familiar....GREAT Race Car!!
My then 17yr old mate used up some inheritance money to rally prep an old 3.5 SD1. Hilarious car with XJS gearbox, 2 seats and a roll cage. 160mph and the only true info on his insurance was his name. Great film gents, facsinating throughout
I bet that was awesome.
Awesome? sounds terrifying....lol
You walked past a DB4 GT Zagato and looked at an Audi!! I can look at one of those in any car park!
You can look at Aston Martins in every car park too mate.
I watched this more to see if Archie had grown up yet, since he started his RUclips Tube channel 😂❤
Just loved that!! Such a varied collection of cars..:))
Great TWR history in that room. XJR-15, ETCC championship winning XJS, Rover SD1 and the Silk Cut Jag. 3 out of 4 sharing the great Jag V12 block.
You missed the 1985 Bathurst 1000 winning Grp A Jag
@@aussieausdeutschland4245 same as the ETCC winning car. Not sure which version it was as they carried the same livery. Would have to watch back to see the drivers names
Just looked back, you are correct. It was the Bathurst car 😊
Lots of nice cars in that building
But the TWR jaguar XJS in the green and white will always be one of my favourite race cars ever
I’m surprised neither of you recognize the Aston DB4 GT Zagato, as it is almost certainly the most valuable car in this collection by quite a margin and a holy grail collector car in spite of a somewhat disappointing racing record. That would easily be my pick!
My favorite car, only 19 original cars made and I think 2 continuations. Don't come up for sale very often but expect to pay about £10m
Yeah, the last one that was for auction in 2015 i believe sold for over 14m pounds.
And the crazy thing is, back in the 60´s Aston struggled to even sell them, so they had to sell the last examples at a discount for less than 5000 pounds. 🤯
Remember the xjr15 losing it while going in a straight line for one of clarksons's VHS videos, clipped the camera car too, IIRC.
where's the clip of that ??
I absolutely love the old Aston. However, I would want one that was 30 seconds from being binned. That way I wouldn't feel bad about putting a modernized chassis, brakes and engine in it. All the look with all the drive and safety.
For someone who gained their fame in a non speaking role, you are a fabulous presenter. witty, well spoken, charismatic and VERY knowledgeable on the subject obviously. Really enjoying your channel Ben and you just gained a subscriber. The respect and admiration you have garnered over the years has obviously helped in gaining access to some great subjects. Just the fact that we know you will get out on the track with pretty much whatever you want in that room, possibly more easily than Archie, who is management and in the family ... lol
Cough _nepotism!_ cough
@@dancarter482 surely what I described is a lack of nepotism, as it sounds like Ben will get favoured over him when it comes to this ... but sure, good chance Archie's family connections got him where he is.
That's hardly surprising; its pretty common in racing and industry/life as a whole. Best not to dwell on such things as it doesnt get you anywhere but bitter.
Soo much good reference material for 3D modeling these. The video is in 4k so I can spot everything I couldnt otherwise.
I agree with Archie - that wonderful Mini Cooper S is obviously the best car there 😉
Nice collection of cars and would love to see the Rover on the track.
Great video! Can we have a part two? Maybe a little more history on some of these bad boys (i.e. the Aston Martin). Would love to see Archie in the mini and the two of you in some of the others on track. 🏎️💨❤
There's another video on the way soon of another car in this showroom.
It wasn't in this video though... no spoilers.
@@BenCollinsDriveswahoo!! 🎉
The TWR Rover is from the European Touring Car Championship circa 1986. While the TWR XJS is also from the European Car Championship. With the car being the race winner of the 1985 Bathurst 1000
Xjr 15 gives nfs 3 vibes 🔥. Unreal car
Regarding Ben’s comments on the DB4 zagato - of course he knows what it is!!! I recently read a book written by Ben about the racing history of Aston Martin!!!!!
That was hard work with the work experience kid phew . Didn’t know any thing .
I'm sure you do? 🤣
Don't understand why people are so toxic. Archie said right away that he doesn't know everything about these cars. Mayde one of the sellers would've been better to interview but can't blame archie for not knowing everything
Now that is the sort of car showroom where if you have to ask the price you definitely can't afford it 😂
The most successful car in GTE in the WEC is the Ferrari 488 GTE not the AM! Love the XJR-15 what a machine!
Shame we didn't get to see the little Alfa in the corner, looks like a Giulia GT. 😍👌
How can you not know what a Aston Martin zagarto body db4 is 😮
Who cares about an old DB4? Aston Martin is a car company that failed so many times (at least they are good at that lol), is it even still Aston Martin?
Hope to see some of the cars back on the track, at Goodwood 😊❤
Yeah...
I've wondered why the Ferguson 4WD GP car hadn't raced at Goodwood Revival for some years now, turns out it's up for sale...
Me too.
Here's to hoping sir Ben Collins will be driving some of these fine machines before they are sold. Perhaps Hamilton will be more than a passenger ! Had no idea Ben has driven so many race cars. I think a proper race history on ban Collins from the beginning to now would be in order. Perhaps do a video in that? Have someone interview on yoir race and driving history ? Ideas for future content . Thank you from the states !
Ben, would love to see you in that Jaguar E-Type, or that Alfa Romeo!
‘88 RS Cosworth driven by the other Stig! (Blomqvist)
Him and shmee with their fake laughs drive me absolutely mental
Schmee has a toy cow now and everything
so many great cars missed and that guy should of got salesman to walk around would get better info
You missed the cossie! Still, the focus is pretty special. And the silk cut Jag is just one of the few racing cars I’ll remember in my retirement
i saw it - lovely motor - hoping to get one out in the Spring
Yeah so many that we could have spoken about. Had to keep it brief though!
No point talking to Archie tho, he didn’t have a clue.
Beautiful collection!
i've got the front wing from the car paul crashed at le mans sitting in the spare room
That ford c-100 is a 24 hour car but the headlights were just covered up
cant believe how little either of you know about these cars !
Ben I hope you do get a chance to track some of those. The SD1 would be awesome and I would a comparison in specs between the Team 44 XJS and a TWR ETCC XJS if that was possible (or 962 v Jag XJR12)
*Some people really need to chill on Archie in the coments, it's enough him loosing his Dad without having to deal with hate*
Just watch and enjoy the cars, that's what it's all about, if you have nothing nice to say, don't.......... You know the rest
Losing
There is nothing more stagnant than staring at a static car car collection with Ben, at the very least just fire one up.
Some say that you can call this........... The Hamilton Collection. 😁😜🤟
I really like your clothing style Ben. Another great video
thank you - I'm defo better with clothing
Thank you!
I'd have taken Needell's XJR, no question.
Great shout man.
This man has more cars than my GTA online character
You walked past John Goss's 1985 Bathurst 1000 winning Grp A Jaguar Ben without a sideways glance.... such a travesty
Looking at the overlooked cars - which Matra is that?
As an aston fan, i take the Vantage GTE. The dirty noise just do it for me. And the vantage did win le mans 🤦♂️ 2017 aston vs corvette
you tube Ben :) clean vid.. nice!
Good guys!
Lol. Moto GP "would involve a lot of sitting down". 😆
Just because Archie doesnt know every single detail doesnt mean he doesnt care, he probably has other interests in his life. Anyone having a go needs to get a life themselves! 😂
The guy is full of greed unfortunately
Good video but personally I found the music in the background and when you went from one car to another really intrusive…
Nooooo not him
You didn’t talk about the John Goss Jaguar that had raced at the best track in the world, Mt Panorama!
…and Ben, have you driven/raced Mt Panorama?
Brush over a DB4 GT Zagato. Its THE car i that shed. Where is the eye roll emoji when you need it!!!!!
🙄 Here you go. Can't believe neither of them knew what it is.
Can't even use an emoji, that tells a lot 🤣 And yeah nobody cares about a rusty AM.
DB4 Zagato, almost a 250 GTO, such a pity being a merchant and not a car aficionado.
Who cares about an old rusty Aston Martin? Maybe an old DB5 from a James Bond movie would be cool but otherwise...
Get the rover out at the super touring event at brands next year
The Ben Collins
Good morning Ben
Morning!
It's kinda sad when you think about how many race cars are no more. The drivers are celebrated, but often times the cars are scrapped in favor of next years car. NASCAR is the worse with some cars only having 1-3 race shelf life.
That's the way is it with the cars though. The tech, regulations, and competition move on, rendering the older cars useless. How it's been from day 1.
Ben I don’t want to bash on your host however if he is going to represent his company and cars he may want to school up a bit on the cars he will be presenting. He didn’t appear to know a thing about any of the cars and that does not make for good content
Archie has never been an active part of the Hamilton family business.
Without Archie you would not even have seen those cars in video, but I guess you would prefer no content at all? Weird mate.
Skipped over my three favourite cars 😢. Brilliant group of cars but definitely lacking a lot of information!
Maybe I need a new job, because I knew most of them straight away 🤔
Archie doesn't seem to have any care about the cars. Riding on his grandfathers legacy and not really giving a crap. He should find another vocation
Nothing makes me prouder than the family legacy. I’m just more into the modern cars and racing with what I do! When growing up all the knowledge was in my father’s head. I hope that clears that up! 🙏😊
@@ArchieHamiltonRacing it's obvious that you care - and it must be hard to have never really got to know your Grandfather but he would have been proud that you're keeping his name going and dedicating your career to the car business he created.
You don't seem to care what comes out of your mouth. Disappointing your grandfathers good name with hateful comments and not really giving a crap. You should find another interest.
Fully agree , the guy is full of greed
What involvement does AH have in DH, other than family name over the door?
He does some filming there from time to time but not sure he’s a director of the company and as he admitted doesn’t know a great deal about the cars for sale.
He should give up on the Porsches and go historic races to demonstrate the stock, if he’s involved in the business.
What does it matter to you, who gets to dictate/criticise 'your' life?... that's the problem with autism, you just don't know when to be quiet.
Need Harry Metcalfe to visit and give us the lowdown, and sort this young man out!
Can you do better than Furd? Sure...put a JY LS in it.
Performance stats would of made this a great video
Noted for next time!
I don’t understand Archie. He has all of this content/car history at his disposal. Yet he modifies BMW M2s and drives around London..
Who cares about old cars ready for the scrapeyard?
Who cares about spelling of the word scrapyard?
@@fordgtcrazy You? 🤣 You're funny kiddo. I guess that's better than nothing 😄
@@22Epic Your comment was literally a wind up one. Naturally lots of people care about classics because of the value of them and how pure they are to drive. Stick to your 2023 Camry and keep reeming Archie’s asshole kid.
I mean, his Grandfather might be Duncan Hamilton , but he’s not the Stig is he ? 😂
🤘😎🤘
Many great cars , shame that kid is going to sell up because he doesn’t want to know and loves greed … such a waste of
Nice focus Colin's was better
Hellou Focus rulez
The Focus is sick!
hi hi D
How do you ignore the Matra but look at a mini...🙄
The jealousy in the comments is amazing. Almost as if people are planning on donating their inheritance to charity the second the paper work clears.
No Ascari's ... incomplete collection.
Nicely done video. Just really not fond of the goofy music. Yuck. Great video and place for sure.
Noted for next time. Thanks for watching.
Secret,.., with a website .. and selling all of it.. Archie is a salesman there ? er.. no.
Why people keep saying secret about as secret as area 51
You lost me when you walked past the DB4 Zagato like it was some old Wolseley. Blithe ignorance is disagreeable.
Does anyone think this is what's wrong with laddies nowadays?
Who cares about the Aston, its only about 12 to 18 million dollars US.
The custodian would have been a better choice to showcase these cars for this video. With the family history you would think that this child would have a sense of pride and take the time to learn at least one fact for each of these vehicles.Such an embarrassing shame.Seems like once he has complete say on the collection he’ll sell everything off so that he will be able to stunt for social media to strangers for likes.
Why are you acting like this is a car collection? Duncan Hamilton is in the business of selling classic and competition cars. This is a showroom. These are stock.
Those cars come and go, you can go to any dealership, the owner will not know about all the cars going through their business. Please mate, use your brain next time.
I am going to be harsh but I really don’t like Hamilton. It is his family business, he is the sucessor to his father and grandfather but doesn’t seem to be running the ship and has others doing it for them.
If this is your business you should know everything about the cars your selling and run the business yourself. Don’t know how to do it? Learn as you go along!
What a wast!
I’m very proud of the family name, and we have a fantastic team. Who my father loved very much, I have never been involved day to day due to my racing and not being 100 percent clued up on the historic cars as this knowledge was mainly in my father’s head. He created an amazing legacy, and we miss him everyday. I hope that clears it up!
“I’m going to be harsh”, says a lot more about you. You did so heartlessly without clear knowledge or understanding. It’s not Archie’s business, it is his family’s investment now. Let’s see if you can be as graceful as you can harsh, and retract or apologise.
Is it based on a db6? Jesus, pinky and perky can do better.
