If you have to use OBS and a capture card, doesn't it mean you'll only get to record/stream the screen? It doesn't seem you can actually use it as a second monitor to extend your desktop, for example.
if we connect One laptop to another using HDMI, can some other person identify whether we can connected to our external device, any popups populated like Your device connected etc....
In particular, the capture card used only does 1080p 60, a card that renders 240hz like the NZXT Signal 4K30 ($170) would work BUT as stated in the replies before me, if the laptop only outputs 60z you're not going to get it to pass that even with the better capture card. Hope this helps!
Some old laptops (like mine) don't have miracast support, so you use a capture card or buy a controller board and disassemble your laptop monitor and actually make it a monitor. A controller board goes for around 24 dollars, but a capture card comes at around 5 or 6 sooooo I ain't paying all that to turn my laptop into a cardboard screen

@@arthurdeseyn6441 yes you have to record your audio on the gaming one then by editing you can sync the video to make one video , I know its not a good solution but it works

You would need an adapter for hdmi to display port, or you can try to find a usb capture card with display port instead of hdmi

I'd imagine it depends on the capabilities of the laptop, a laptop with 1080p 60hz as a max isn't gonna automatically shoot up to 8k quality at 240hz
It depends only on the laptop display iself's specs. If it is 144 for example, you cant go beyond. Expect ofc if u overclock the monitor hzs
