About Dude Dad:
Hi! I'm Taylor Calmus, a Colorado-based actor/comedian. I started Dude Dad© two weeks before my son Theo was born as a way to stay creative while learning to be a father. My wife Heidi and I now have 3 kids and over 300+ videos. My purpose for the channel is to entertain, enlighten and inspire.
In addition to Dude Dad©, I have been in numerous TV shows, commercials, and have regular appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live. I will also be hosting my own TV show called "Super Dad" on the new Magnolia Network / Discovery+. Heidi and the kids will also be a part of the show. I am originally from the rural community of Howard, South Dakota.

I make it a point to either be a "drop & run" visitor, or "show up, coo for a minute, find 3 to 5 things to clean, and leave" visitor. When my sisters had babies, every time I visited, I'd say hi to the baby and chat with my sister for a minute, load and start the dishwasher, the laundry, do the cats' nails, scoop the litter boxes, and take the garbage out on my way out the door. The whole thing was over in under an hour. I was a big hit.
Now that's priceless
That's awesome! I'm sure your sisters appreciated you! Now I've got to find some family like that, lol!
OMG I NEEDED YOU WHEN I HAD MY BABIES 😂 but really your sisters must appreciate you so much
@deborah- the world needs more of your kind.
Best sis ever?? Well done x10000000
' Grandma wants another one, make it happen. '
The baby's face in that scene, like, Help me! 😂😂
My grandma:um daughter i need four more please U^U
@@ukecanplay7316 mmmmm get to work my friend
My mother in law aka grandma
My mother never asked me for more. She never asked me for the first one either
0:30 - "NOBODY TOUCH HIM, GRANDMA'S GOT HIM!"
I just got a violent flashback to a family gathering. Someone's kid started crying and since I was the closest, I figure I'd walk over and quiet her. I nearly got runover by a grandma hustling in from another room. 🤯
Sounds like my mother in law. It's a bit of a relief that she wants to do so much when she's around. I get to rest, even if she is a bit of the know-it-all character.
My father in law is a bit of a nervous Nellie. He was left alone with our baby daughter so we could get ice cream from a local parlour. He texted us as soon as she woke up, even though we'd left diapers, wipes, clothes, formula, pumped milk, and bottles for her. We came back, and he was looking like he wanted to run away.
🤣
@@ruthcaperchione4103 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah, my daughter's mom-in-law. However, I got that baby anyway LOL LOL LOL
I was probably that grandma a baby hog
"Oh"
"Ohhh"
"Ooh"
"Grandma's got him, NOBODY TALK GRANDMA'S GOT HIM"
"Grandma just had a little stroke but it's ok now"
I feel like they need a sixth category: "Fixit Felix." The ones who will come into the house quietly, give you a reassuring pat on the back, and then disappear. The next time you look up, the house is clean, the dog is walked, the older kids are happily watching "Moana" with full tummies, the air conditioner is running better than it has in years, and your eczema magically cleared up.
My mother in law would show up and send us to bed for a nap. Around 3 hours later she's gotten the baby asleep, washed all the dishes, weeded the front garden, did some laundry, and there's a frozen casserole defrosted for supper. Wonderful
I turned into a 'drop and run' after I had my daughter, because I wished all my visitours were a 'drop and run'. But most were the 'stay for hours and never leave' kind.
Proud drop and run. Parents are busy.
I live in the other hemisphere to my family and we are also in a different country to my husband's family. Friends were the people we relied because family just weren't there. Thank the goddesses for the come n stayers, they got me through some really bad days!
Same here. I am a proud drop and run. Having my own babies has taught me the value of the precious drop and run visitors.
@@triarb5790 Same. My one friend, best friend took the train to my house everyday and stayed over on Fridays until Monday morning. She actually walked to the bus then catch an hour long train and then I’d pick her up at the station. God bless her. She got me through. ❤️
I always ask. Sometimes people just want food. Sometimes they're lonely. It depends.
I LOVE the drop and run visitors! They bring food and gifts and don't make it uncomfortable to be in an adult diaper all day! :D
Drop and runs were my favourite too :D and I totally knew they wanted nothing to do with the baby lol but the food and gifts were fantastic and I didn't have to put my shirt on
Saaame! I just want to sleep and not feel like I need to entertain a guest.
I'm a total drop & run! I dont have kids but I know how annoying guests can be when the baby is brand new lol
Yes! I always drop and run if I am not a close family member or close friend. I have 7 of my own, and while I really LOVE the blessing of a meal, I wish people didn't expect to come in and be entertained. Most of the time the ones who want to stay are the ones we know the least. One time a whole car load of kids came running into our house and were expecting a playdate. Ugh. Sorry everyone, I will socialize when I am feeling better.
I'm a drop and runner as well. Partially because I'm also terrified of being asked to hold a baby. And partially because I don't know what to say in emotionally difficult situations, even mostly happy ones like new babies. Grieving? Casserole. Sick? Casserole. New baby? Casserole. Big event, or deadline coming up, and I found out you're super stressed? Well guess what, you don't have to worry about dinner, cause I brought you a casserole. And if I really love ya, that casserole will come with a case of water bottles, and maybe a new fluffy robe, cause those are all useful in just about every stressful situation.
Comedic gold. As someone who has to pump round the clock; a tear fell from my eye when Mr. Oblivious dropped the milk packs on the floor.
The drop and run ones are the best. I don't need to get out of my sweatpants and they leave gifts or food. Thank you!
“Oh my gosh we almost had to look at their baby” lol 😂 so true
That's me there haha 😂 😂
I don't mind looking but don't hand it to me. Lol
LMAO I'm about to be a nurse, worked L&D as a a tech, and the "he's not latchin' right, not just the teet; it's supposed to be like the subway commercial" is the best analogy XD
As a new mom who had a ton of trouble nursing, I wish someone had used that analogy. That makes so much more sense than the lacation nurse and dulas were saying lol
“I know you said that you didn’t need any more clothes, BUT…. They just flew in the cart!”
So true!
I remember when I had my 1st, my mom had passed, and my dad went to Ann & Hope and asked the clerk for help with picking stuff out for the baby & me. He came to the hospital with two huge bags of stuff for us. He was so cute. I still had the robe he got me up til a few years ago and my son is 27!
@@skeeta1068 such a sweet memory. Thanks for sharing. Precious and it is easy those outfits so cute and people get so excited. Best feelings really.
This is my mother 100%. I'm pretty sure she's incapable of not buying baby clothes.
I made a ton of baby clothes for my grandson 🤗. Knowing he’d wear them baby once lol
"You got him wrapped up like one o' them Chi-pot-lay burr-ee-tows!"
The snuggler one is definitely my favorite. Totally my mom with my son, but not as intense about it. And let me just say this: be thankful that your child can have grandparents or other family members in their lives that want to snuggle them that much and help you take care of them. When I was pregnant I didn’t think I was going to want anyone around to help, but once I had him that all changed and I was so thankful to have my mom there to help me get a little break here and there!!!
I feel like I might be a little bit of a stroke gramma if I ever have grandchildren lol
My baby was born two days after theirs. These videos are so relatable it hurts 😂
Congrats
@Cory Gross My little boy is doing wonderfully, thank you 🥰 He will be 4 months old in about a week. Time flies!
Also, thank you!
@@rachelknapp7271 awww hope u guys are healthy
My baby's 23.... and it's STILL relatable ❣🤣
LOL I'm definitely the Nervous Nellie xD
Same lol
Same
Same
Same
I’m the snuggler😂
Best advice I ever got: "Don't take anyone's advice, just listen to your body, and listen to your baby."
I’ve always been a Nervous Nellie and now I’m about to have a baby in a few weeks lol guess I can’t do that anymore lol
Edit: I’ve had the baby! She’s 2 months and I can say I’m furthest from a Nervous Nellie now! I love my babygirl so much! ❤️
I was a Nervous Nellie, too! And I was so scared they would hand me my baby and my first thought would be, "great, 18 years of babysitting". But they handed her to me and I just felt so much love and fierce devotion to her. You can do this! Just trust your instincts 😉
I used to be the nervous Nellie too, but that changed as soon as I held my first child. It’s different when they’re you’re own kids!
You’ll do great 😊
Congratulations!
Congratulations!! I was a Nervous Nellie with my first one. 3 sons and 4 grandchildren later....I am all pro.
I’d never held a baby until I had one of my own. Three days in the hospital after the birth and I was very sad when I went home because I couldn’t just ring the emergency bell for a second opinion every time the baby cried.
My FIL put his drink on my breast pad when I was nursing his grandson! He thought it was a coaster. 😄
My in-laws ate everything in our house before the hospital discharged us, even the freezer meals I had prepped ahead of time! I had had a c-section and was in the hospital for three days, and they just helped themselves to all the food. That was a tough one to come home to 😥
@@d.leighannbatemon3192 What a$$holes. I don’t suppose they brought replacement food later, either?
@@d.leighannbatemon3192 not ok....
@@d.leighannbatemon3192 oh no, that's awful!
@@d.leighannbatemon3192 so instead of bringing food they ate everything you had? I'm so sorry
I'm the Drop and Run. I'm a nanny by trade, people pass off their babies to me like friends in IT get handed broken laptops. So screw it, Drop and Run!
“If he wants to flail, let him flail” 😂😂😂
Oh you're the head doctor? Sounds like you're still practicing #dead. I'm absolutely dead# 😄😄😄
Honestly if a know-it-all came into my house and said something like that, they leaving even if it means calling the police. I can't fucking stand a know-it-all
🤣 Our daughter is 3 weeks old today and this is all extremely accurate! My sisters were so cute fighting over who got to hold her next (“You’ve already had 30 minutes! Let me have a turn!) Lots of family brought us tons of meals from Costco or restaurants and I was running on so little sleep the first 2 weeks that I couldn’t have been more grateful for easy meals. For some reason everyone’s favorite thing to bring us was strawberries, and we had to give away 3 huge cartons because we couldn’t eat them all 😅 🍓
I freeze mine, strawberries that is.
I have 4 kids myself and I usually just ask what the new baby family would like. Sometimes they just want the food and we drop it off (tip- also add paper plates, plastic forks, cups and napkins) and sometimes they want company so we’ll hangout and make sure to do a little housework too before we leave.
I haven't even had my baby yet and I'm wheezing at the snuggler because it is so my mom. She and I have already had the conversation about not needing anymore clothes and she's always like but it's just so cute!! It's hilarious and adorable.
Just like all Dude Dad videos, spot on! I always liked the drop and run people, personally. Come back and meet my kid when their little personality starts showing up. 😂
I was about to say this. Drop and run people are my favorite kinda people lol. Leave me alone. Im hurting. Im tired. Just let me eat, sleep, and feed my baby.
That’s so refreshing to hear. 😁
Love parents like you!
My uncle was an extreme asshole version of the nervous nellie. I started crying and he turns to my parents and says, "How can you stand this???"
They even made him take a picture with me and he looked dead inside. 😂
DAMN
Lol my brother has autism. He was similar. “I don’t like that think. Cries too much” 😂
how old were you that you remember this?
I’m a variation of the drop and run. If someone just had a baby, surgery, or is sick, I have a policy of not calling or ringing the doorbell, etc. Murphy’s Law says when I make noise is just when that person is resting or got the baby to sleep.
Nowadays I’d text the person to say I dropped food on their porch. In pre-text days, I’d call someone connected to the family to arrange a drop off.
Early newborn days is immediate family bonding time. I stay out of it and support from a distance.
I have just discovered this series of videos as a new granma. They are making me laugh out LOUD!!🤣 I forwarded some to my daughter and some to my granma friends
I GLADLY welcome the drop and run. I don’t want visitors but I’ll happily accept any food they have!
"BOUNCE IT LIKE A BASKETBALL"
IM DONE LMAO
When we had our baby I was deadly ill. I was very appreciative of the drop and runs.Looking like death and having your house destroyed was embarrassing. I love all the personalities who cared. Congrats and love.
I audibly gasped in horror when Mr Oblivious dropped the pumping equipment on the floor. Noooo, now she has to wash, sterilise, dry, and reassemble it all over again!
And tossed the frozen liquid GOLD bags on the floor. The horror.
I am 100% the Nervous Nellie. When my niece was born 19 years ago, my brother thrust her into my arms and I panicked and was like “what do I do with its head, isn’t there something about the head?!?” My brother was like, haven’t you held a baby before? I was like, “NO, when would I have held an effing baby?!” He also got mad that I called her “it”, lol.
Ha ha ha!! I was SO impressed he made it through that whole lecture on proper breastfeeding technique, when I was laughing my butt off… then I got to the end!!! Him laughing his way through it is equally as funny!!! Maybe even funnier!! 😂😂😂
My sister was a drop and runner lol except she couldn’t wait to meet her niece she was extremely supportive and made the best meals for the first two weeks of babies life! I can’t wait till she has her kids so that I can do the same for her.
I’m so a drop and run, so I’m glad to see others appreciate the drop and run!
Hysterical...loved Grandma running to get the baby screaming in Demon voice 😭 😆🤣🤣🤣
"I'm not a doctor, but" 🤣🤣
Sounds like you're still practicing. Almost passed out 😄
This is why I wouldn't let people come to visit for a month after I had my kids. I didn't need the stress
Trust me, if I didn't need the support, I'd be the same. My FIL is coming to help me while I recover. I'm hoping he won't stress me out.
These are so accurate. Lol. "Nervous Nellie" here so I do my best to "Drop and Run" if I can get away with it.
May people rest in peace who cant find this audio because the original meme didnt gave credit to the audio
My husband when he held our first child, and she cried for the first time for him, he literally threw her at me, screaming, "She's crying! Take her!!"
To be fair, he is a pro now.
Actually I’m glad they put the latch info in there-not a lot of new moms know that 😂
If I ever have kids and they have kids I’m definitely gonna be the snuggler 🤣
You can be a snuggler now!! Trust me, parents love a break and it takes a village-- offer one of your friends with kids the chance to have a few moments of baby free time and they'll love you forever!!
@@d.leighannbatemon3192 ok good idea
The parents do want it. I held my cousins baby for 5 straight hours... believe me I tried very hard to give her back.
We alMost had to look at their baby lol
Why is this so accurate?? Lol I'm a nervous nellie except when I had my own son I was more confident. But u still become nervous nellie around other people's babies lol
No one has said it, but the latch advice is *GOOD ADVICE!* Someone get that dad a beer, because he's clearly been helping mom around the house, with baby, and with boobs! Go dad!! The unsolicited advice is still my biggest pet peeve postpartum tho 😅
I’m definitely a snuggler whenever there’s a new baby in the family.
Welp Grandma got another one! Congrats Dude Dad! I've been rewatching all your pregnancy videos since I found out I'm pregnant with my 2nd. This one made me so excited for the newborn stage again.
This is so accurate lol and the jokes are absolutely hilarious!
😂😂DANG RIGHT! 😂😂😂Omg this is HILARIOUS especially considering I had a stroke and found out I have heart failure a couple weeks b4 my FIRST GRANDBABY GIRL🥰🥰🥰EVERYONE in the WORLD told me "take it easy, don't lift her too much, stop going to EVERY store in Nc, BLAH BLAH BLAH"😩😂😂😂 WHAT NANA DOES FOR THE BABIES IS NOBODY BUSINESS! NOT EVEN MY HUSBAND (POPPAW) CAN STOP SUPER NANNA!!!! TRY to STOP ME N ILL GO SCORCHED EARTH!👊🏾😑👑👵🏾👸🏾👶🏾👼🏾🤷🏾♀️🎊🎁🎉👼🏾👶🏾👵🏾👑😁😂😂😂
You take it easy Nanna!! 🤣🤣❤️
I know your old because you used almost every emoji possible
@@liamprogamer2322 yep n PROUD of it. Just PRAY YOU LIVE to get MY age. ESPECIALLY bc I'm a combat vet young one. LIVE LIFE FOR YOU and DON'T WORRY bout what SOMEONE ELSE is doing. BEST TIP I can give you. You stay blessed my dear 😁
@RegularJoShmo what I ment is that even if they didn't say I'm their comment. It still would have been obvious
Good one, dude dad! Very funny and creative with the multiple character roles. I loved it!
I’m definitely the snuggly grandma. Favourite way to spend my time-snuggling with the grandkids and just spending time with them.❤❤❤❤
*I'm definitely the drop and run.*
Not just for babies either - for birthdays, funerals, weddings, graduations, baby showers, ICU, nursing homes, retirements...basically I hate pretending to care.
I feel like the chaotic grandma one is just gonna be every gen z when they become grandparents.
-_-
Idea:
I'm gonna wait till I'm a grandparent, just so I can quote this video.
Coincidentally I got a target ad at the beginning of the video 😆
LOL!! This is the funniest video I've seen in a while! Thanks so much for creating and sharing this! I needed the laugh this morning! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lol grandma is always the best 🤣😂
I’m from Spain and I have a 2 months old and WHY IS THIS SO ACCURATE!! You just described my mom, my sister in law, my dad and my friend Irene perfectly.
I though 🤣🤣😭😭I was guna hear sumn dirty about that "tip" 😭🤣🤣😭😭awesome way to keep it clean n hilarious.
Seriously laughing out loud the whole video. Sooo accurate. Keep these coming 😂💖
Omg this was hilarious..I had to subscribe 😂 now I’m gonna end up binge watching your channel, I’m sure lol
Sounds exactly like Dana Carvey.
The breast feeding lines are priceless 🤣
I love how the gramamother is like that that is who i would be
lol
I'm the "Know-it-all" (literally could agree to all statements) except I try my hardest to keep all those opinions inside me except when someone explicitly asks me and I don't argue or think I'm for sure the "right and only way one". I could immediatly think of a fam member for every type.
But do you say "You're the doctor with your own practice? Sounds like you're still practicing". (This line cracks me up daily!)
🤣 this is perfect.
As I'm watching I realize I know personally some of each of these people! Lol
Haha yes this is very true. My mom is definitely Gramma all the way. She has dibs on my babies for the first six months. It was a tug of war for my first kid when she stayed with us cause I wanted him every second and so did she haha 😆 by my second kid and then third I was like here you go, I had ten months in the womb with them
Omg such a great actor!! Your so into it I love it!!
I’m definitely the snuggler…yeppp ŪvŪ I’m going to do this to my kids in the future 😂😂
The know it all during the breastfeeding part...ugh.. reminds me of a lactation consultant when i had my youngest. It was my third baby and i did not ask for her to stop by. But when she did she just hovered and kept talking and talking, picking at every little detail. She eventually picked up on my irritation, i guess she could see it in my face so she finally left. So even when its an expert hovering it can be annoying.
I'm a nervous snuggler. I like to hold babies and play with them, but when they cry I have no idea what to do.
The know it all and Oblivious ones were my favorites! Lmao!
I’ve never had a kid or anything but the drop and run visitors seem awesome, they bring you food and Do you nothing that could possibly inconvenience you, I imagine the advice giver would be the most annoying kind a visitor
Love the know it all lady super funny lol reminded me of the church lady from early SNL
I am the snuggler for sure. My son is the nervous Nellie, and my husband is Mr. Oblivious. My mom is miss know it all!!
I tend to focus on the baby like a laser beam and forget the parents even exist.
I'm an Auntie, but I def act like grandma when there's a new baby
2:51 made me gasp audibly 🤣 the sheer audacity, hilarious!
Grandma was TOTALLY my mom. I could never have a 2nd child, but mom was the ultimate helicopter grandmother.
Hahhha did he just call the remote a "clicker" 😂
Not just the tip the whole teat 😂😂😂😂😂❤ great advice
I’m 2. The nervous Nellie. Lol. I’m terrible with holding babies. 😂😂 and people look at me weird like I have two heads.
Same lol...
I got my first baby 5 weeks ago and let me tell you, the first 3 weeks were HORROR! I felt so vulnerable for my little son and anxious. I told a clear NO to everybody except for my husband and NOBODY respected that😡😤 they were touching and poking him anyway and telling me that i shouldn't be like that and that nothing is going to happen. It wasn't a worry about danger though. I mean, i carried him INSIDE ME for 9 months and suddenly he is out! I am still extremely attached. And why do i have to justify my feelings anyway????
I love these videos so much!! These a guaranteed to make me laugh 😆
This was so funny I had to watch it twice in a row
Lol!!! The 3rd one reminds me of “The Church Lady” from SNL
I'm #2 for sure....hahaha. My friends kept telling me that motherly instinct would kick in one day, but it never did. Give me a puppy or a kitten any day!
I don't know anything about this guy, except that he's hilarious! He should be doing stand-up comedy tours if he isn't already.
“your wife just flashed me” 😂🤣😂
Literally everyone who's had a child has experienced the Snuggler multiple times
😂😂The drop and run! Yes!!!😂😂
Drop & Runs are the best. Smugglers are good too if you need to rest & have your house fully cleaned & meals made:)
Hilarious! I realized I'm the drop and run friend. 😬😅 But it's only because I don't want to bother them or spread germs to the baby!
Thank you so much for letting us comment, I love your videos, they are the best.
This is so true I love it - you hit it dead on
Too funny, "Why I have to support his head, what's wrong with it"?
Nailed the grandma on Every level 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
If someone tries to give me invasive unsolicited advice after I have my kid they're banned from the house. Maybe when they're 3 I'll let them back in, but when I'm dealing with postpartum hormones? Get out.
The drop and run… Right here! 🤦🏻♀️
Grandma's already asking for the second one before the first one is even born
