    Here at Tactical Rifleman, we are all about showing you tips, techniques, and new equipment to help you “Shoot, Move, and Communicate.” That includes training gear, like targets. Anyone can print decent paper targets on a standard printer. However, everyone loves to shoot steel. That includes me.
    Now, if you rewind a couple of decades, my A-team would often deploy overseas, to shit holes, to teach other countries to fight for themselves, so we wouldn’t have to. These countries didn’t fancy shooting ranges with steel targets. So, we would end up spending your tax payers’ money (thanks by the way) to buy piles of steel knock-down plates to deploy with. These were heavy and didn’t stack well. We always wished we had a couple plate racks, for doing “Man versus Man” competitions (good stressor), but there was no way you could fit a could large plate racks on a Air Force Pallet.
    At the NRA Show last year, I stopped by the MGM Booth to say “Hi” to Mike Gibson and his great family. You will not find a better group of Americans anywhere. Anyways, Mike showed me his “Plate Rack in a Bucket.” While it was designed so that any gun enthusiast could now afford a plate rack and could easily transport it; it immediately popped in my head that “these would have been great to deploy with!!!” Operators could literally toss 6 of these cans on your Deployment Pallet, and it would take up no room at all. Then, all you need is three 2 by 4s, and you can find them anywhere on the planet.
    So, I asked Mike if I could do a video, to help get the word out to all our war fighters out there, still going down range. Mike even offered all our Tactical Rifleman viewers (that’s you) a 10% discount; just use the promo-code: TACR10 when you go to check out. That’s good for everything on the website.
    What’s that?... You’re not a SOF Operator getting ready to deploy? Well, if you like to shoot, but don’t have a good local shooting range that has plate racks; then this Plate Rack in a Bucket is perfect for you too. Drive out into the woods or desert, set it up, and start shooting; much better than shooting beer bottles. These plates are Rifle-Rated Steel too. So, you can get out past 100 meters and bang away on it with your long guns too. Don’t forget to your the Promo Code TACR10, to get your 10% off.
    Thanks for watching. Strength & Honor, TR.

    If you plan to keep this at a steady location,.. get lots of extra lumber as they will get eaten up over time. No big deal or cost. If you get the green lumber know it is insect resistant but has arsenic infused so wear gloves for protection.

    Are you able to rotate the targets up and lean them towards the shooter? My thinking is as the round hits, it'll make the target either just fall back or rotate down?

  • @_Rick_S

    Looks like a good quick setup. I wonder if the front 2 legs were cut a little shorter to angle the targets, might help to deflect towards the ground? Guess it would depend on the holes in the target plates being small enough to grab onto the hooks and hold

    • @TacticalRifleman
      @TacticalRifleman  2 года назад +1

      Angling this bracket would expose the soft-metal bracket behind the target. That is not how it is designed to be used. It works fine as is. You don't need to get closer than 10 meters with pistol. If you need to be that close with rifle, you better use frangible ammo.

  • @stewpidasso288
    @stewpidasso288 6 лет назад +4

    If you cut the forward supports 6" shorter than the aft... would it diminish the sprawl coming back at you somewhat? This looks like a great product for a temporary range, if you can't build a permanent one. (neighbors suck sometimes)

    • @deasttn
      @deasttn 4 года назад +1

      I suspect they plates will hang vertically regardless of how much shorter the front legs are.

      You can shoot the shit out of it with rifle, outside of 75 meters... the wood legs are wide. It’s not going anywhere

  • @parkerazz4385
    @parkerazz4385 2 года назад

    The problem with systems like this is that the only hardened steel is the plates. The hooks and stand parts are not. You get any flyer rounds and they will deform.

      I see no different what you can do and say what Brandon Webb-SOFREP and what Robert O'Neill does. That said perhaps SEALs are the glory hounds and Berets are behind the scenes. If anything Tier one stories sell. Merchandise, Networking, Consultations-Tyler Grey, You Tube channel specials and live streams, endorsements, Book deals exclusive product development with the input of a Tier 1 all are ways to get your name out there. What is being planned 3 months from now regards Tactical Rifleman? Is there a growth plan? You in a unique situation to be trusted and have access to elite people. Capitalize on the fact you were a legitimate Green Beret. You guys can likely plan way better then I can regards growth-you planned military Ops-Is this really any different? People are actualy buying these kits??? LOL!! Looks so DIY. There has to be some company making targets that a human like figure. Maybe if you like zombies. ON some kind of swinging target arm. Maybe electronically controlled setups. With plates popping out we don't expect. Like the course you'd see in an old Dirty Harry movie. target could be a LEO, civilian, , combination of bad buy and hostage...etc. ..target should always be in motion (swinging left and right or north and south...etc.). Use Bluetooth and have the targets controllable from the app.

    We need the build-up a separate RUclips like Network that is gun-friendly but is not just about guns. We need to invite and include everybody because we need to replace RUclips with something better.
    My goal as a Firearms Instructor is to recruit as many non-shooters as I can and turn them into shooters. We need to be able to access and recruit the Next Generation. That is really what RUclips and liberal social media is trying to stop. They're trying to stop us from continuing to grow our Gun-Culture.

    How does one RETIRE from a service that was started 3 years ago? I really wish people and the media would STOP using the word "retired" for people who spent one term in the service and cycled out. It is seriously disrespectful to those who actually RETIRED (20+years of service) from one of the armed services.
