Well actually he has 5 albums with the God's Carpenter in 2023. And his last album that will eventually come out (darkness and Colors), will be 6. The Ricanstruction is a certified classic and Darkness and colors was an exclamation mark to his career. A dark album but yet so amazing and lyrical as always. I compare him to George Carlin in a way that as he aged, he became greater at his craft. Chino never sold out and ended his career with his most impactful album yet. My upmost respect to the Puerto Rican super hero! RIP CHINO!!!

Yeah, that album has to come out. Hopefully his estate and M80 can work it out.
I consider GOD'S CARPENTER one of his collaboration albums because he's credited alongside Stu Bangas. Same with SOMETHING SACRED with Playalitical (may he continue to Rest In Peace). The one he did with Balt Getty is technically an EP, but I have no problem classifying it as a third joint project.
I agree with you; he only got better with time, which is why it's sad he didn't get the attention he truly deserved. Hopefully I get to cover his work on here before the year is out.
      Thanks for the comment!

darkness and other colors is officially coming out october 24th.. its just that the estate is not on board with the album dropping without their consent. chino did give m80 his blessings to release the album though.

Wow...love the comparison to George Carlin. Chi & Carling are 2 of my favourites of all time and I can see what you mean. I don't think Darkness & other Colors is the last you have heard from Chino, he had MANY unreleased features and projects

I remember he was a punchline artist fir sure. Metaphors on top of each other. Think he had bad timing. Pun came out right after.

I think you have a point there. Maybe he would have stood a chance if he had come out like, say, 1998 or 1999 (during the ascendancy of a Latin wave) on a more hip hop-oriented label like Loud, he could have stood a chance. Also, I think what Pun had working for him was the initial buzz from "I'm Not a Player" and "Off the Books." I don't remember Chino having that at all.
