Yes, I'll be making a video on Death Note. Yes, Amusement Part 2 is coming. I'll be at Toronto Film Festival next week and am debating making old-style quickies with my phone camera so I can cover more films than I usually do. Does that sound like a good idea to anyone, or should I stick with my current microphone style and cover less films? Streaming Life is Cringe: Before the Storm right now if anyone wants to join. www.Twitch.tv/AdumPlaze Thanks!
Pelcogo Personal Shopper......., was odd, yet boring for the most part and the girl that has a vamp baby has some very odd nude scenes. So there you go
I already said she did good in American Ultra. The only thing I've seen the were wolf in is some crappy happy Madison films like grown ups and the before mentioned.
Seriously . . . I have no words for how amazing the ending was, but not just in this film, but all of theirs. Their endings always have this impact, where it seems like the story hasn't ended, as if the characters are trapped in this cycle of misfortune. It's so dark and real, I just can't get enough of it.
I unintentionally saw this on LSD and I swear . . . . I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and then that LSD story scene happened, and I couldn't believe my eyes. An experience I'll never forget.
it makes me happy to see Robert Pattinson doing well. I always felt like this guy was way better than what we were given. I think he's the kind of artist who works best on smaller projects he enjoys doing than major hollywood blockbusters.
This video was extremely realistic in its depiction of lower class America. The set design was mind blowing. Watching the scenes with the 16 year old in the apartment just transported me back to a house I had in the Poorer Michigan suburbs (Detroit area) . It’s so fantastic
@ComfortableTool86 for me it was the fact he doesn't have to suffer in prison and actually be surrounded by people that are there to be friendly and have a good time
Hey Adam, I just wanted to thank you for recommending me to go see this movie, I wouldn't have otherwise see it. and for drawing attention to the face that the close shots in this film were intention and part of the art. It would have really taken me out of the film to see this movie not knowing that going in, Saw it twice here in Victoria, once alone and once with a friend. Keep indie development alive!
"Okay. So literally every film critic has used the title of this movie as a pun. But YMS is far too unconventional to do that." *Sees first five seconds of the video. "Goddamn it!"
I remember when you talked about "heaven knows what" in one of your top 10 movies of the year videos and I only watched it because of the song you included in the video lol. Definitely checking this one and the director's other projects. Thanks for putting me on adum!
So I just saw “Good Time” and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time.
Just from the footage used in this quickie alone, the film seems extremely interesting and intense. Those shots are really effin' good. I'll be sure to check this out!
This film is my go-to example for explaining how morally reprehensible characters can still make for compelling protagonists. Pattinson’s character is NOT a good person; arguments could be made that he’s a borderline sociopath, or just a sociopath altogether. But the one - the ONE - redeeming quality he has is his care/concern/love for his brother. It’s a line he refuses to cross in spite of going so far in every other direction. An exemplary experiment in writing flawed and hatable protagonists that still command your attention and investment as a member of the audience.
Man i can’t wait to see what the safdie brothers do next. I’ve seen uncut gems and good time recently and i plan on seeing heaven knows what. I fucking love their style they’re super dope.
Oneohtrix Point Never is my favorite electronic musician, his film scores are cool, I love his synth choices and stuff. He is like the modern day Vangelis or Kenji Kawai.
The guy that did the soundtrack is none other than the supremely talented Oneohtrix Point Never. Fun fact, OPN is so damn talented that he, along with Mac+ & James Ferraro, helped create vaporwave.
CutThroatNin3 the creation of vaporwave is one of his least creative endeavours and that stuff is definitely not part of his magnum opus. Tracks like I Only Have Eyes For You are way more interesting to me
Thanks for turning me on to this. As for Robt. Pattinson in "Cosmopolis," I've come to the conclusion he might be the best actor of his generation. No joke.
Shout-out for the chef-kiss on the aerial shot of the car driving. This was such a confident, visually transporting, immersive and thoroughly admirable film from every viewpoint. With acting this fine, the many close-up shots were engrossing, rather than claustrophobic. And yes: Edward Cullen is dead. I'll be very keen to see any new performance from Pattison. Some people may think that the characters are so desperate, making such bad decisions and facing such horrible choices that it seems like a dark comedy. But I feel that these chaotic lives, hilariously awful with small crimes and sudden death, are more truly representative of life in the underbelly of the American city than anything else in US cinema.
I like how you recommend smaller films and dont just review the films people are gonna see regardless I really appreciate it. Thank you I would have never watched this if you didnt recommend it.
I think the camera work on Heaven Knows What was clearly intentional. Good Time was even better. 10/10 for me on this one. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time.
Will defo check out the movie - was so hyped when I heard oneohtrix point never (aka Daniel Lopatin) was making the soundtrack, he's an incredible artist
Idk if the dog you were talking about was supposed to be a police dog, but they are specifically trained to go for the arms or legs if they can because it minimizes the risk of fatal injury. It's really easy for a dog to accidentally kill someone if it digs its teeth into their stomach or something.
Robert Pattinson was amazing in this movie. I didn't even see Robert Pattinson, I saw his character. He totally disappears in the role just like he did in The Rover, but this role was completely different from that one. I think this shows that not only is a great actor but one with tremendous range.
I was lucky enough to catch this in an empty theater because the last indie I saw in theaters was It Comes At Night and the theater was packed and People were booing during the movie. I watched it a second time and thankfully it was a much smaller audience that took the film for what it was.
I didn't like the movie at first despite the great acting, but I think about the ending alot. I really love the last shot of Connie in the police car, when he realizes that he brought down so much chaos on so many people for no reason.
I finally saw this movie and I loved it but I know what you mean with being a bit starved with the setting. I got excited when they went to Adventureland because that was a local amusement park in Long Island I went to all the time growing up so I wanted to see what they could do with that setting but aside from the aerial shot, we didn't get much of it.
I'd only heard of this movie due to Oneohtrix Point Never (Daniel Lopatin)'s contribution to the soundtrack, and i'm glad to hear about it being a good inclusion.
Fuck yes I loved this movie. I cant believe so few people have heard of it! Couldn't agree with you more on everything you said. The soundtrack complemented it so well, and now I can't stop listening to opn. The pure and the damned gives me goosebumps everytime. I loved how the aerial shots following the cars made it feel like you were watching an episode of Cops and it was a police chopper following the culprit. If you haven't seen The Rover I would strongly suggest you check it out. Not because it's a super great movie, but Pattinson's performance is amazing. Luh ya Adum.
Yes, I'll be making a video on Death Note. Yes, Amusement Part 2 is coming. Thanks!
YourMovieSucksDOTorg I like to eat ass
Old style quickies sounds good
But are you going to review IT this coming week?!!?
quicker quickies.
they'd be much appreciated
I think Twilight was an elaborate trap made by Jigsaw. The leads escaped and they now have a greater appreciation for their careers.
Well except for Taylor Lautner. American Ultra and good times are vast improvements but ridiculous 6.
Pelcogo Personal Shopper.......,
was odd, yet boring for the most part and the girl that has a vamp baby has some very odd nude scenes. So there you go
I already said she did good in American Ultra. The only thing I've seen the were wolf in is some crappy happy Madison films like grown ups and the before mentioned.
Hahahahaha
Pelcogo
Did you not see Taylor Lautner in Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3D?
I'm glad that Robert Pattinson is succeeding as an actor, post-Twilight.
Nicholas Viespoli The entire cast was bloody good in this
And he outdid himself again with The Lighthouse.
You can hate the movie.
But you cant hate the actor.
Unless the actor is jerk.
the rover proved it already...
4 years later and he's still killing it. The Devil all the Time, The Lighthouse, and now The Batman all such memorable performances.
Loved the end credits, incredibly emotional and was a great final point to finish the characters story.
Seriously . . . I have no words for how amazing the ending was, but not just in this film, but all of theirs. Their endings always have this impact, where it seems like the story hasn't ended, as if the characters are trapped in this cycle of misfortune. It's so dark and real, I just can't get enough of it.
Fr, was so glad to see Nick get the help he needs
If the video doesn't start out "Hey Guys, I just saw the movie "Good Time" and it was a good time. I will be quite disappointed
Edit: Not Disappointed

If it was bad he would’ve said it was not a good time
This quickie was a good time.

I unintentionally saw this on LSD and I swear . . . . I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and then that LSD story scene happened, and I couldn't believe my eyes. An experience I'll never forget.
Dude whenever acid comes up in media while you’re tripping you feel like a caveman who just discovered fire 😂
The soundtrack for this movie was really good. Oneohtrix Point Never did a good job.
it makes me happy to see Robert Pattinson doing well. I always felt like this guy was way better than what we were given. I think he's the kind of artist who works best on smaller projects he enjoys doing than major hollywood blockbusters.
The lighthouse is one of the best movies I've ever seen and it had a budget of like 11 million dollars
I give it a 9. Robert Pattinson and Benny Safdie are excellent in this. It is certainly one of my favorite films of the year.
Holy shit!! Is that really Robert Pattinson? I didn't even recognize him.
He's been on a roll as far as movie roles.
This video was extremely realistic in its depiction of lower class America. The set design was mind blowing. Watching the scenes with the 16 year old in the apartment just transported me back to a house I had in the Poorer Michigan suburbs (Detroit area) . It’s so fantastic
The credit sequence made me cry... other than that the safdie brothers need help with family issues
Do they have family issues?
@@bookeblade their 2 big films are bout family dysfunction
lol if you look up their interviews where they talk about their dad, it's pretty fucking insane
damn the credit sequence made me cry too but I didn't even really understand why
@ComfortableTool86 for me it was the fact he doesn't have to suffer in prison and actually be surrounded by people that are there to be friendly and have a good time
Hey Adam,
I just wanted to thank you for recommending me to go see this movie, I wouldn't have otherwise see it.

Saw it twice here in Victoria, once alone and once with a friend.
Keep indie development alive!
Huh, this sounds like a good watch. Thanks for the recommendation! It was also nice meeting you at VF c;
I love Adum's quickies but I love Adum's longies as well ;P
I prefer his longie
"The lack of wide shots"
You have got to be kidding
Bruh
damn r pats looks really good with facial hair like damn lol
Christian Ocasio ew gaaayyyyyyyyy
Adam has a strict "no gay" policy.
Which is very confusing.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
this is the kind of movie you watch like 70 times throughout a year and still enjoy watching it everytime
i like the close-up style... it makes everything much more intimate and relatable
Love how much effort you put into describing the music without simply mentioning it's by Oneohtrix Point Never.
My fiance just walked in on me watching this vid and said, "..WTF? Quickie? Good Time? Wtf are you watching?"
"Okay. So literally every film critic has used the title of this movie as a pun. But YMS is far too unconventional to do that."
*Sees first five seconds of the video.
"Goddamn it!"
Most people are walking cliches
darren motise which begs the question: do we really have free will😹😹😹
I remember when you talked about "heaven knows what" in one of your top 10 movies of the year videos and I only watched it because of the song you included in the video lol. Definitely checking this one and the director's other projects. Thanks for putting me on adum!
First it was a 7/10 on his imdb, now it's and 8/10 with the possibility of being a 9/10?! That doesn't happen very often.
I've been watching too much Fantano to where I instinctively went to the bottom of the description for the score.
Sooo... can we talk about the fact that Robert Pattinson is a legit actor now?
you even used the best song of the theme.
can't believe I waited as long as I did to finally watch this excellent movie.
So I just saw “Good Time” and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time and it was a good time.
Had fun watching you edit this. Nice job!
Best movie of the year right next to A GHOST STORY
Oh for f*ck's sake. Sure, of course someone who worships "A Ghost Story" likes this. Now I will never see this film. That's all I needed to hear.
The score sold me on the film and I love Oneohtrix Point Never's other music; it's plunderphonic genius
Oneohtrix Point Never’s soundtrack for this film is genuinely his best work. And that’s saying something, because his previous work is incredible.
Just from the footage used in this quickie alone, the film seems extremely interesting and intense. Those shots are really effin' good.
I'll be sure to check this out!
I still bump this soundtrack when i'm just driving around.
Love this movie.
hey adam, OPN did the soundtrack and he is absolutely great. you should get into him. listen to returnal.
Jack A I'd say Replica is his best album, but R Plus 7 is a close second
Id say GoD is his most accessible tbh
yeah but returnal has pleb filter attached to the front. and is his best album
All of OPNs albums are amazing xD
IDK if aliases count but Eccojams Vol. 1 is the best imo

A24 is the best production company out there
Super Orphan I mean not according to their Wikipedia page, but okay dude
Super Orphan, They also do production for both film and television along with distribution for films.
John Klein my guy
Super Orphan I already told you it's on the Wikipedia page
Super Orphan, You might want to look at the production companies for Moonlight.

As for Robt. Pattinson in "Cosmopolis," I've come to the conclusion he might be the best actor of his generation. No joke.
This movie was fucking insane
from twilight to good times. how crazy.
Ooo thanks for this, hadn't even herd of this film till you made a video about it. Going to go see it today!
3:39 well that's a dumb complaint because that's genuinely where police dogs are trained to bite.
Can't wait to see this here in UK (October), glad to hear it's even better than Heaven Knows What.
As a heroin addict from New York these directors really know how to depict shit life from both movies
my mans OPN on the music though. i hope his work on this film and his award at cannes gets him more film score work in the future holy shit

Anytime I see rob patt all i hear is death grips now,
True story, I just got back from watching Good Time for a second time with friends tonight then saw you posted a quickie on it.
Robert Pattinson was amazing in this movie. I didn't even see Robert Pattinson, I saw his character. Hey Adam
Hello
So happy that you enjoyed this!!!!
Just saw Oppenheimer and love that Benny got the role
I'm so happy I saw this yesterday blew my shit, came home watched a bunch of Adum Plauz, and now I get a review for the grand slam
Yes! So happy you reviewed this!
Love your videos man keep it up
Dope. Excited for Battinson.
I was lucky enough to catch this in an empty theater because the last indie I saw in theaters was It Comes At Night and the theater was packed and People were booing during the movie. I watched it a second time and thankfully it was a much smaller audience that took the film for what it was.
Missed this at the movies in my country, now I gotta for the netflix
Just watched it on Netflix, it was amazing. I loved everything about it. It's fucking heavy
DUDE this was a great movie and a great way to ruin a perfectly good day....
"That shot passing the ferris wheel? MWEHHH" I love you Adum.
I didn't like the movie at first despite the great acting, but I think about the ending alot. I really love the last shot of Connie in the police car, when he realizes that he brought down so much chaos on so many people for no reason.
OPN soundtracking this is solid
i was mostly going to see this movie for the soundtrack by oneohtrix point never so im glad to now also hear that the movie is good as well
You just saved my entire night.
I saw this Thursday night and it was awesome. I also think it's an 8/10.
ha yess I could listen to that voice all day
nice to see a UNIQUE DIRECTORIAL style
If Adum wants to see this movie a third time, you know it's fucking awesome
I finally saw this movie and I loved it but I know what you mean with being a bit starved with the setting. I got excited when they went to Adventureland because that was a local amusement park in Long Island I went to all the time growing up so I wanted to see what they could do with that setting but aside from the aerial shot, we didn't get much of it.

Didn't even realize that was Robert Patterson lol
Dat soundtrack tho. When i saw oneohtrix point never's name in the opening credits I was like "oh thats why this is porn for my ears."
Just saw this and I loved it.
I feel like I've seen it three times after watching your review
Best movie I've seen this year.
The song he uses is "Leaving the Park" by Oneohtrix Point Never
I already feel disoriented just watching the clips in this short video. I don't know if I could handle extreme closeups for almost an entire movie...
I Fuckin loved this movie
Didn't recognize rpatz at first, so happy that he's getting real movies that can actually let him act!!
i'm not here for a long time i'm here for a good time
I'm looking forward to the new Batman with Robert Pattinson. If they have decent writers he should absolutely kill it
