Weapon banner guarantee is a big deal not enough ppl are calling out. No matter what, within 80 pulls max you will 100% get the banner weapon. No 50/50s. Personally I feel way more comfortable pulling because of this.
I would have skipped Jiyan’s weapon if it’s 50/50 but since it guaranteed, It got me spending money for the banner.
@@ericcckysame, i decided i may aswell use the weapon on both calcharo and jiyan so i pulled for it. Best part is they gave so many rewards in the first week i pulled jiyan early and got the weapon at 50 something pulls without dropping money.
But in the future when the pull economy is normalized and more grindy i would not mind dropping 30-50 for something i would really want if i didnt get it with the amount i have saved.
Thats what happens when you can be confident that at the very least the money is put to better use.

The western gaming industry is DEAD. With very few exceptions it's all corporate live service slop and woke trash now.
Their priority is to develop woke 🌈games
One thing that made it stick with people is that from the start they gave everyone a free five star weapon along with the five star character they gave you.
Also MC is really good, unlike MC from Genshin which i still salty about... but regardless i like both games.
They really give around 4-5 five star characters, not even counting Rover, considering the rewards, and new player pity. The first you can get straight away, the other they give in like 20-30 pulls or something, the standard banner of 50 pulls, and I've seen quite a lot of people were able to pull Jiyan and/or Yinlin, really early.
you hit the nail on the head about r/gachagaming wanting WUWA to fail because they have invested so much in other gacha games. it is absurd how much they want it to fail and just hilarious to see how good WUWA is doing.
I mean this article was literally posted there so I find that somewhat hard to believe. It's more likely that the site is just full of dumbass trolls since they seem to hate on all trendy gacha games about equally from what I've seen and are always pulling for more mid popularity coomer stuff.
Also the guy in the video he's reacting too is a monster shill for the game at the moment and the website writing the article is affiliated with Tencent and not much of an official source or authority on mobile gaming trends (it's also completely wrong about Wuthering Waves being the only game of it's kind at that event) so I'd take just about anything that comes up in the video with a bit of a grain of salt. It's all kind of just hearsay from the article to Stix to Asmongold's reaction too it.
@@HardymanK I mean the hate for WuWa in r/gachagaming is not really hearsay it's wildly obvious, not to mention that there was a lot of posts in that subreddit that also had a lot of claims about Wuwa devs with also no evidence yet people were happy to upvote and believe it, that sub is filled with shills for all their games, it's just that HOYO shills are more dominant now
@@HardymanK i dont disagree with your comment about r/gachagaming, but the part about shilling and the article being affiliated with tencent doesn't matter, they're reporting on earnings, which you can see yourself with official documentation, its like the main driving force for stock market movement. It isn't their opinion that wuwa has "30m players" or "1 bajillion revenue" those are numbers.
@@zakariamimouni279 Not to mention the fact that on many instances, the exact same post can be posted on r/gachagames and r/wutheringwaves and in r/gachagames it is overwhelmingly negatively recieved, with a lot of posts spinning the post in a negative light purposefully, and the exact same post in r/wutheringwaves is overwhelmingly positively received.

Just imagine if Wuthering Waves was on console, the chart as far as revenue goes would be even higher
At China , console gaming is almost non - existent . For global, it would boost sales .
Yeah that's a pretty big deal. Mobile gaming just sucks and they really should have done a simultaneous launch like Genshin. Big mistake from HSR as well IMO. They're losing a big console playerbase that doesn't want to play on mobile, and it less likely to get into it once they are behind.
Gacha games’ strongest market is mobile gamers. No doubt console would help greatly but they need to simultaneously prioritise optimising mobile game play.
It is so easy when you deliver what players want.
Honestly the only reason i play games like Genshin, HSR and Now WuWa isnt because of the "gacha". It's because the games are polished and play smooth and give me something to do daily that doesnt take forever to do as well as constant updates/patchs with new content fairly quickly. Now WuWa's "polish" is severally lacking and has a LOT of work to do, but the QoL WuWa brings that Genshin doesnt have and we been asking for is enough for me to keep playing it until they fix it. It's really that simple.
Yep, if you are sick of the woke dumbed-down western mindset and you like fun combat and exploration and incredible puzzles and constant expansions that introduce new areas, these games are just what the doctor ordered.
To be honest I prefer these trio of games than MMOs. MMOs have too much gatekeeping and takes up too much of your time, these games are highly polished with constant patches, and also playable on mobile so casuals going to work/school can enjoy it too. Majority of East Asia loves these games and contributes a massive portion of revenue to gachas. In turn funding their development costs which gets re-invested back for amazing trailers and updates. MMOs have pretty much fallen off entirely
I feel like people are "hyping(?)" the gacha part in gi and wuwa so much when the really important part is actually everything else except the gacha, when it comes to actually playing and enjoying the game(?). Like people are gonna spend hundreds of hours of playing, the gacha part isn't even half of those hours, the exploration is. The gacha is literally like the cosmetics that you use to feel pretty running around town. Even ww system of echoes that everyone hated with how much grindy it is, I don't hate it. I mean it hasn't been 2 months since the game dropped and people want to be in end game so much like that's absurd. The grind is what makes people have something to do when in other games, when the dailies are done, it's done.
Gacha games are the perfect modern games for the modern audience who don’t have a lot of time on their hands for sure.
No it is not that simple. These kind of games make billions and that is the reason why they have the ressources to be as polished. Gatcha games are not games. They are nothing but psychologicallly analized gambling systems that put a game above it. They are build based on fomo and "colllectibles" like a generic ubisoft title but with waifus for simps. You people get so hard manipulated and do not realize it. it's really that simple.

Hologram 6 harder than Malenia for me, in Elden Ring at least the boss doesn't have crazy amount of HP and you can actually deal like 10% of it's HP per normal ATK, and Malenia doesn't even one shot you with HP build, and you can drink 2 HP potions then your HP is back to 100% while Hologram 6 in WuWa, even with the best build you can do at game's current stage on a character at lvl 70, lucky you deal 1% of its HP a hit lol, and one hit from the boss is literally game over. Besides in Elden Ring you only play as ONE character, so preparing for Malenia is easier, while in WuWa, you have to build 3 characters and have to do correct team rotations for max DPS output, cuz there's also a time countdown, so I really agree that some parts of the ppl that hates WuWa are the ones with skill issues.
And theres no way that whalers gonna one shot hologram 6.

The camera stinks and I feel some hit boxes and dodges not triggering are issues. But over all it is good.
@@Zzues im UL41 and I have no clue what you're talking about with the camera or the dodges/hitboxes. The camera was kinda tough with mourning aix because of how the boss was designed, but they fixed that issue. Are you using the lock-on feature? Genuinely not sure what you have an issue with regarding the camera.
Dodges and parries and hitboxes are also something I've had zero issues with, its all very fluid and responsive. For the record, I'm a comp deepwoken player so I am VERY VERY good at dodge and parry mechanics, far above what is required for wuwa, so that might be why it feels better to me. As for hitboxes, are you talking about HURTboxes? I don't know of any times that the hitboxes have seemed off, hurtboxes maybe a couple times.
The only major issues I would say wuwa has is 1. with ascension/trait material distribution (echo exp was a problem but they fixed that with events, the game just came out and I have 4 godroll echo sets). Doing forgery challenges for ONE ascension/trait mat when you need multiple different ones for different characters and weapons feels bad. They also don't drop enough for the waveplate cost. Also 2. Performance, but that will be fixed over time. Mobile performance is god-awful and PC performance sucks for the first 5 minutes but once things get loaded its smooth as butter even on my 7 year old PC.

I am very happy for its success tbh, I think the one thing Genshin and Other Gacha games need is competition to want to be better. If every Gacha game is putting out AAA content you better believe each of them is gonna up their ante to compete. This is gonna raise expectations for any new releases tho, like Arknights has Endfield in the works and you better believe that game is gonna at the very least have an unrivalled soundtrack. The one thing I do like about these games is that they are all free, which makes the options for FTP players huge, as they can play and experience so much. Good job Kuro games.
I think one of the main reasons why WuWa is a hit in release and in its first month is because of the Devs, They listen they take action quickly and for the general playerbase I think that's what matters the most. ( an example is the rewards u get from the tacet field complaints and they're gonna change it asap in 1.1 together with the waveplates storage too ) but that's just based on my observation and by playing all kinds of games where devs listen and where they don't

Gachagaming is a pretty bad place to get information and unbiased takes in my opinion. They also just don’t like Kuro because of Punishing: Gray Raven. Pgr fumbled its launch way back when and some of the early story isn’t great, but it is a phenomenal if quite niche game now. they still shit on it whenever it is brought up. Kuro can make phenomenal characters, music, gameplay, and stories so I really hope they put their all into Wuthering Waves.
21:54 Eh, I think it's a lot simpler than that. People just don't want their games to die because they like those games.
That's true for a casual player but games inevitably die at certain points in time. Now the whales however will need to do everything to protect the game they invested money on some even invested like 25k to C6 R5 every character
Then, we can all just move onto Genshin 2 😅
If there's something that actually unique in this game, i think it's gonna be the swap canceling mechanics. Swapping characters is nothing new in this kind of games, but idk why but i feel like the swap/ animation cancelling mechanics added more depth into the combat, it just feels more satisfying than only switching characters

In fact, my phone runs it better than my laptop, which makes sense since my phone is a samsung galaxy s23U and my laptop's video card is NVIDIA that's still on the 1xxx series. My laptop stutters the game for the first few minutes, and then it's all smooth from there. My phone does not have this problem.

If it is not a limited 5* selector. It is gonna be eh for many players.
at least be it a weapon
still cant believe they gave you guys the first ever 3 star character Aloy 🤣
Hoyo has STILL not even added any standard 5* constellations for the starglitter
Let alone even a single 5* selector for standard char/weapon, not even talking about limited.
The weapon banner in Genshin is pure ass - they added the pity mechanic after few years + it's still bad.
Not gonna talk about the end game, since Wuwa just starts, but for Genshin there ain't much to do
And for the context - I played Genshin until 3.0 on a daily basis and spent way too much, I later on played occasionally and now I'm just sometimes logging in for the maintenance primos and I can't even convince myself to play anymore, since I burnt out and also felt pretty disrespected as the consumer given the amount of feedback I provided numerous times, etc.
As for Wuwa - so far I'm enjoying it, I see a lot of potential if the devs will actually pay attention and polish the game.
What I do enjoy is the more dynamic combat for sure with the dodge/parry mechanics (gotta love Dark Souls) and from the gacha perspective the banners - the pity for characters is pretty standard, but I'm glad to see I can actually consider going for a weapon with reasonable pulls.
Let's remember Tectone's glorious Staff of Homa shitshow
Edit: regarding performance issues - as a software dev - You can cover a lot of cases, but You hardly ever get things done the right way for the initial release however it sounds

I’ve been playing since release. I think it’s a good game. I spent about $100 so far. I’m going to continue buying the battle pass for sure until I get bored. I can’t beat hologram 3 lol. I suck. I beat the crap out of Star Rail but dude my first game system was Atari. I grew up playing turn based rpgs.
19:30 I doubt that average gacha player cares about popularity, because gacha in general is a niche genre. Genshin and all the next hoyo games are exceptions. Also gacha gamers mostly play multiple gacha games (especially because all of these games have dead patches time to time) and they pull waifus just because they like them. Other game being popular really don't matter. Just look at gacha revenue list. There're so many of them and most of them are not even close to genshin and hsr, but people are still playing them and invest money and time on them.
I agree 100%. People want to play games with great combat. That alone will make a game with a meh story great because you want to get into the action.
That figure for WuWa includes all platforms, the chart Asmon was looking at only showed mobile.
Vanguard sound will taking care on sound and voice director they already confirmed it(stil didn't know who gonna manage music and bgm) as for translation still no confirmation but i hope they achieved translation level of HSR.
7:18 Gacha is the new Dophamine Hit Drug that the DEA could not do anything about. The Alarming Mental illness that we see is the effect of being addicted to Gacha Games. Perhaps soon a Psych Fed could evaluate the effects of Gacha to a Kid and may Regulate it. It is earning more than the Cartel lol.

A depressed crosstian, wow so new
Earning more than the cartel? No. Wake up.
Look at topics in where it has aspects of FOMO, gambling, and Sunk-cost. It's all been there for a while. When it comes to gacha, I'd say some people will spend to even test their luck.
@@jamess359that makes gambling addiction ok you right
@christiannielsen8733 escaping the misery of the world by playing gacha games is ironic, if gacha gaming becomes popular in the west the state of gaming will become far more miserable
I saw a trailer for WuWa over two years ago and pre-registered then. I had patiently waited for news about it, checking every now and then on it. I was hooked, because of how things looked, and the theme going for the game. I was, excited for it, very excited for it. Then it came, and it blew me away completely. The combat was new, got my heart going. Sat there going "Okay WOW this is different. I like this." I am happy to see the game is succeeding so much, deserves it completely. And I hope(not expecting much if anything at all), this will finally shake Mihoyo, and step up, and try making Genshin, a game that was great the first two years I've played it, great again. Whilst I absolutely hate the term "Genshin Killer" because it's so stupid(WuWa is it's own game, don't compare it to another. Leave it be.), WuWa, is a game Mihoyo should be scared of. Where they've been lacking or being super lazy about, Kuro has been listening to feedback from the players, and has been making changes. Not to mention just how super generous they are with not only compensations, but with rewards in general.
Genshin and Stonkrail(HSR) are their own things. WuWa is it's own thing. Do I like and still play them all? Yes(local gacha addict here). Do I like them all equally? No. In my book, WuWa is number one, HSR is number two, and Genshin is number three, with the latter going down frequently. The team for Genshin just doesn't do enough for the game anymore, and it's honestly sad imo. Genshin keeps declining, HSR is climbing, and WuWa is just taking off into space.
Now I can't remember wtf I was originally typing about lol. Either way, love your vids Asmon, they're always great. Wish you a good and happy life.
Folks dont leave other games not just because of the money invested, but also because of time invested. For instance you do not leave WoW, even though it has been trash for a long time, because of the time you have invested and because of the viewers you might loose if you stopped playing it completely.
Jianxin and Tao Qi got me into Wuthering Waves
As someone who plays WuWa on mobile, its been pretty smooth. Main gripe is that the screen is small so controls get cluttered. You end up popping ult while moving the camera, or attack instead of dodge. Hopefully with 1.1 including controller support that will be fixed
I don’t understand why the Genshin and WuWa community must have to draw swords against each other. WuWa takes Genshin as its inspiration and improves on some of its aspects. Genshin could use some of the QoL present in WuWa to improve the player experience. Competition begets improvement, it’s like iPhone vs Android - in the end it’s us the consumers who win.
It because of Genshin hater is playing WuWa and they talk for the WuWa community because their number was a lot 😂. Most player are pretty chill and including me I still playing both Genshin and WuWa.
I love WuWa more ofc, been with Kuro since PGR but yeah this kind of war is something I hope this community won't have. Genshin is already toxic as it is, we don't need this in WuWa.😅
@@NikLoveGaming I've already seen a lot of comments saying for Genshin to die. I play both games, but it feels like the WuWa community is turning toxic and it is deterring me tbh.

I forgot to add that i got severely disappointed by it after giving it time, literally worst gamevi ever played

I tried Wuthering for a few days and deleted my account. But I do really want this game to success and grab a big cut of cake from Genshin. Genshin dev need to have some pressure.

Would you spend money on this game?

I love this games difficulty and sense of challenge, I'm a few UL away from 40, which would allow me to ascend my Resonators past level 60, but I'm trying to complete Holograms Difficulty IV before I ascend, just for the challenge, I've seen people have a hard time doing Difficulty IV on a level 90 Resonator, so now I gotta do it.
> ive seen people have a hard time doing difficulty IV on a level 90 resonator
stop lying even the biggest whales are not at resonator level 90 yet. its physically impossible to have a lvl 90 resonator because there's a limit to how many times you can refresh waveplates per day even with gems.

give kuro time like 2-3 ver update and u will find out 😋
I don't really consider it hard when it's all about how built your account is. Genshin's easy now because people have been playing for 4 years and have all the meta units with long-farmed gear. ER is not the same kind of thing.
It has better fighting mechanics then genshin impact.
I agree on wanting to play great combat. Some times I just go around obliterating every echo in sight. Just to have fun with the combat. I finish my dailies and then go on a face stomping romp in some random direction, lol.
The unique mechanic part that no other mobile game has in Wuwa is the parkour combo. Maybe as complex as titanfall 2 or apex
Wuwa has continued to deliver time and time again. I wonder if the whole community came together and asked for a console release, what would happen🤔😏?
The genshin schills are afraid of Wuwa taking over because alot of their playerbase is migrating towards Wuthering Waves which is just overall a much better game

I good part of the reason I bought skins in League, for instance, was because I appreciated the artwork and the changes to attacks/spells/animations made them feel more enjoyable to play. Your point still stands though because I probably would have only bought a quarter of the skins if the enemy wasn't able to see them.
Sony and Square ignoring the success of Kuro and Hoyo. Sony has the studio (Aniplex) to animate it/artwork.
As someone whose beeeen waiting for Wuthering Waves I'm so glad it's doing good!
One major thing that also makes Wuthering Waves great:
Great Action Combat (although not as deep as DMC's but at least it's deeper than Genshin's)
Really good game, just wish I was good enough to beat the rank 5 holograms...
Wuwa deserves the success tho happy for them,
They knew what they were up against, and they knew what to do and what not to do.
Pretty straightforward when they were able to follow the guidance of two other successful gacha games.
The only thing that kept me playing were the apology compensation.
Can I have a couple of millions for a worse clone of an existing gacha game that was unfinished +game breaking bugs and a crappier gear system? I member Cyberpunk being teared to shreds for a failed launch, here it's a different tale, people are so gullible...
Having bugs in free live service game is more forgivable , but having major bug for AAA game is embarassing
since launch wuwa has been soo smooth for me, 45 ping and plays with no interruption, this is on PC of course
I play Genshin, and Honkai too
I wish that WuWa success shines.. the only thing as a genshin player i wish WuWa did - is to fix input lags and overall game optimization
We get so much bad games nowdays that i only get happy when new project slaps
Don’t know how this game could have failed considering Kuro developed PGR. Like that game is still the highest quality mobile game I’ve played till date.
True. I like WuWa, but PGR is still my favorite and this is arguable but I even think they added something unique to the hack-and-slash action combat system overall even compared to non-gacha AAA games due to their orb system.
Indeed
just imagine when it reaches Crimson Weave gameplay level, qu shukra, etc..

Why do people care about if they play the biggest game. I play both HSR and Wuthering Waves, I enjoy both. I hope both succeed and make the game better IDK what the big deal is
Not to mention competition is good. You should only be worried if your game is dying, and that rarely is the fault of another game coming out...
People who care about "being good" at a videogame, have probably never been "good" at a videogame. Because once you have you will realize nobody truly cares, and at the end of the day games are for fun.

The only thing that can kill genshin is hoyoverse lol as long as the game has a ton of whiteknights itll never die haha @bzibubabbzibubab420
@Zzues you're not doing tower of hologram bosses?
Asmon's "gacha game lifespan" take, I've mentioned it before and I'll say it again, Honkai (HI3 and HSR) have a formula of following some characters and when you gacha, you can gacha for the same characters at different points in the story.
HI3 is literally just about 10 characters but like 100+ different gachable versions of them at different points in the story and multiverse. HSR already has the IL Dan Heng and now is coming out with a sword version for March 7th. Instead of introducing new waifus constantly, you could definitely have a longer "life span" by building emotional connections to older characters and making new versions of them.
No one cares about hi3 now after part 2 flop
@@christophealexander3262 Shaoji is still on the story of HI3 and according to CN players he's cooked for the next big patch.
HI3 didn't just flop cuz of the story, it flopped because its HI3's predatory design and shitty gacha. Soft pity used to start at 75 so by 85 most people got their characters, now they removed soft pity and moved hard pity to 90 and everyone basically has to hit 88 or 89 to get it. Not to mention it's a PvEvP game where you compete for points with other players so the weapons and gear you HAVE to pull for.
The nail that fucked HI3's design is Sena. Makes no fucking sense that every single Part II team REQUIRES a limited time S rank (5 star) to even function. And they're churning out new S ranks every single patch without giving F2P breathing.
They also said they're going to do away permanently with the Animated Shorts that was the main appeal of HI3, moving the budget over to Genshin (Arlecchino's recent anime short) and HSR (Acheron's dance and Firefly's recent short). Hoyo is done with HI3 lol
My favorite character in HI3 was Himeko they killed her off early.
@@ComeOnBunny yeah it just sucks they never made more versions of her. The 13 flame chasers and Yae Sakura were all dead before the game's story even started and there's a bunch of versions of them.
march7th sword character is for free lol😂
I usually not spend. But on this game I spent. Just because all of the free stuff with the combination of good gameplay and intentions I just felt the need to spend and give back some 😅
We will really see how its doing after 2 months + . Novelty and genshin similarity wich is a global phenomenon certainly was a big part of WuWa first month revenues. but yea i hope it stays successful
Wuthering Waves making the biggest daily revenue during the first days of Yinlin banner in Korea & Japan appstore is mind boggling, it even surpassed youtube and tiktok at one point...
3 Different games did that in both regions in the same week. Getting to Number 1 in Japan actually isn't that big of a deal these days. Staying there for more than couple days is though. Genshin actually did this for almost a week on Google Play last week with it's new banner. Actually Wuthering Waves never managed to get even close to it on google there and Genshin was the #1 game for the week on PSN there as well with the same banner. Yinlin banner did a pretty good job getting to #1 on IOS there at all though even if it's already well below it on IOS too even after a week. It's definitely a start for WuWa though.
I don't really believe the 140 million dollars in a month claim from Gamelook for a second though. It doesn't track with the available Sensor Tower data on mobile unless it achieves a historic slant towards the PC app for it to be the case. Like to such a degree you might as well just toss out the mobile app as borderline irrelevant to it's first month gross cause it'd be barely 20% of it.
Not sure if this means much... Didn't Tower of Fantasy make crazy money globally near its launch?
If Kuro keep consistent and getting better it wouldn't ends up like TOF

Genuinely hope they fix alot of the issues the game has relating to voice and dialogue. It completely ruins the immersion you when you're balls deep in a quest and the text sounds reads it's from google translate, and you can't even scroll to read the rest of it if it's long. I think the game is very solid overall, but they definitely need improvement in some areas. Story could be better, voice and dialogue could be better, shiny system could be better etc. Hoping they put some of the money they made towards fixing the areas where the game falls a little short.
wait for 1.2 or 1.3 they can overhaul entire game dialogue and voice acting.
