    “Calisthenics” means own body weight. Why the extra weights used?

      Calisthenics is indeed exercises to develop strength and flexibility that are done without special equipment, however weighted Calisthenics is a progression from using one’s own body weight, the choice is yours whether you want to do strictly BodyWeight or add more resistance but the movement pattern for the exercises is still the same regardless, hope this helps to clear up the confusion, appreciate the support 💪🏾💯
