Your Blender 2.8 tutorial was actually the one that brought me into the world of 3D modeling and animation. A year later, I have made a couple of freelance works using blender as my main tool. Thank you for being vital part of my journey!

I gotta say - you have the most practical and greatest tutorials. I'm older and retired/disabled now, but years ago, before the forced retirement, I started using Blender somewhere around the Beta version I think around .94 or so. I wasn't a self taught user and didn't use it much as it was just a hobby. Over the years, I've watched tutorials that would teach a bit of this and a bit of that. Never like this. I was able to do simple things and just kept dabbling over the years. Always wondering "How do I do this or that" about simple things. Being that I didn't use it all the time, I would forget things but I wasn't extremely motivated. I'm the type person that needs to sit with someone 1 on 1 and watch exactly what they do and be able to ask questions every now and then. Although I can't ask you live in the moment questions, the way you do your tutorials is EXACTLY what I've been needing all this time. I am starting with Part 1 and will continue each part until I master it this time round. All these years, I wish I had found you sooner. Thank you so much!

As a complete newbie at 50, I have paid a lot of compliments to Blender enthusiasts for their tutorials and knowledge, and I have to say that this beginner's course you have made has to be the best on RUclips. I am extremely grateful for these videos, as it's tricky to tackle individual topics from different channels and different people. You are clearing a lot of things up for me. If Carlsberg did Blender tutorials.... 👏

Hey Grant, I'm starting week 2 - I've looked at all kinds of Blender tutorials and (no disrespect to the efforts of their creators) - there's a difference between knowing Blender and TEACHING blender. Your vid is like an oasis in the chaos, your pacing, tone, and method are ideal....I'll be following your lead and thanks for these!!

Ah, so you're jumping on the re-release bandwagon too, eh? xD
The 2.8 version of the tutorial for this scene is what got me into blendering two years ago. To whoever is getting into Blender for the first time, this series is going to be a great starting point. Stick with Grant after completing it too - Blender Guru is charismatic and an expert, but Grant is all of that on top of having a teaching background. It shows in his tutorials, and we as a community are lucky that he's dedicated so much of his time and expertise to put out world-class free content. I've done my fair share of both free & paid courses, and Grant is about as good as it gets,

I had been viewing the first 3 or 4 videos of the ranked # 1 of the "ranked best 20 Blender courses" and they were okay. But to me, this (ranked # 3 in that list) is the best. Grant goes through the basics just fast enough and explaining things very thoroughly, moving around the Blender grid in a way that I can keep up. The challenges are also very helpful - kind of like mini-tests throughout.

Now I am at Uni studying animation and .... well still learning 3D software,.. but I have made amazing progress and am now modelling a full cyberpunk street scene for one of my major projects. Without the help of people like you in those early stages I doubt I ever would have made it to where I am now. I will always recommend you (and of course the donut tutorial XD) to anyone looking to get started. Thanks so much for everything!

I've used Autodesk123d for years and produced a few decent 3d prints (that's my particular interest here). I'm learning Blender to gain more precise control of shapes. It's going to be an uphill task given the relative complexity of Blender. These tutorials are particularly well delivered, especially when compared to others hereabouts. It's no mean skill to sufficiently empathise with those who know little, like myself. Thank you for your work.

That first line and I quote "At first blender can seem very intimidating." And Im like ok there's a ray of sunshine in this I know it. Then second quote "Its a extremely complicated program." Im not trolling you I love every thing you do. But I was definitely laughing. Keep up the good work and thank you for all that you do for us.
