Hi Ken, I'm from Thailand and physical media is dead in my country. Only a smaller group of active collectors and we do 100% import from US, UK, Australia, Italy, and Hong Kong. This is the only way and a really expensive hobby. Just wanted to share that with you. Have a good one.
All Studio Canal releases from France are incredible. My favorite is Peeping Tom. Honorable mention to David Lynch's 4k releases A Straight Story and The Elephant Man. Can't wait for the Steelbook of Orca The Killer Whale.
What makes The Guest stand out from a lot of other films is the soundtrack, including Front 242

My prize possession on blu ray from the UK is Dracula (1958) aka Horror of Dracula starring Christopher Lee. It has some good extras, including some extra footage that was found in Japan. I have it near my holy grail, a 12-in. action figure of Dracula modeled after Christopher Lee. I love my hobby!

I got the Mothman prophecies from Imprint on ebay in Australia. Saw it originally at the movies.
That the Escape From New York version that I have. It was the first 4K for that movie.
I'd love to buy more overseas releases as they are better in my opinion overall. Issue is the price. I hate how expensive they can be.
Probably my two favorite overseas releases are the Elephant Man from Studio Canal, where the slipcase opens up into a pop up recreation of the cathedral model he builds in the film. And the Koch box set of David Lynch's Dune from Germany, which included posters, the marvel comic adaption, a book of production photos with an interview with the production designer, 3 discs of bonus features, three different cuts of the film, and the soundtrack cd.
In Germany they are releasing a Lethal Weapon bluray mediabook collection. Not 4k but if you like the rambo mediabooks then youd like those

I have the Studio Canal 4 disc set of The Thing. I had to get that. One of my favorite movies. Others in that series were The Fog and They Live, but to quote Mick Jagger, you can't always get what you want.

Lately I've been trying to focus on Australian releases, as that's where I live.
It makes collecting a lot more interesting when you want a specific release from a specific region.
I recently got Freaks Of Nature on bluray. A 2015 American horror comedy. I was really surprised it even got an Australian bluray release, so I grabbed it to go in my horror comedy collection with stuff like Tucker And Dale Vs Evil, Scouts Guide To The Zombie Apocalypse, Cooties, Zombeavers, all of which I have on Australian bluray releases.
Yeah, got to have a region free player for collecting.
Australia and New Zealand are Region B, so any UK releases will play on our players. I had to pick up a Region Free player for the US releases though.
Anolis media books are really great for their Hammer films and artwork. They are from Germany.
Most movies I get now days are from the uk and Europe or America but love some of the Australian releases we are getting now days
The Mechanic 4k is not available in the States so I had to emport it overseas where it's available there and it looks and sounds spectacular on 4k 👊👊📽
The guest has a second sight release?? WTH! Why someone hasnt come to my house and let me know this with an official document?
Those sets are pretty awesome but I can’t justify buying more than one edition of any movie. I spend a lot on physical media over 6000 titles with no duplicates. People say I’m not a collector because I don’t have multiple copies of the same movie and to them I say “I’m a curator” not a collector.

I regret not getting the Psycho set. I waited and then it sold out quickly.
Although an enjoyable enough watch it's super annoying all the editions you chose are no longer available unless you wanna take a second mortgage for ebay.

As an Australian, I got the Via Vision edition of Dredd. Interesting how the 4K looks completely different to the blu-ray, and not just colour/lighting wise. Some shots of the blu-ray look like they've been zoomed in by comparison, showing less of the full shot. Also tried to get screenshots of the same frame in both versions to compare quality, but the 4K is just different and I don't know why. Is this a thing that happens sometimes? Like if I took 1 frame from 2 discs and compared, they should match. These just look different, like it was adjusted for the 4K.
I have the German release of The Great Escape 4K with HDR-10+ & Dolby Vision from Capelight Studio. I also got the British release of Bloodsport 4K from Capelight Studio also, both are great editions. I also imported the 4K of U-571 and Apocalypse Now 4K from England. And of course, I got the Studio Canal 4K release of Fifth Element, which IMO is the better transfer. The last 4K movie I imported was The Neverending Story just before they announced the new 4K edition. Lol. I'll keep the cheaper older release, it still looks great.
I thought this was going to showcase foreign language films for some reason, I guess, wishful thinking, lol. I like films that stray away from the Hollywood norm. You just need to deal with subtitles. I have a collection of the eye (original) on blu coming in tomorrow. Barking dogs never bite was a fun adventure to get a copy on blu as well.

Bad news Michelle, Dark Skies Films is releasing a 300 dollar special edition of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. HIDE THE CREDIT CARD NOW.
The Australian and EU sets are always so much better as far as complete packaging and swag. US releases are usually bare-bones, and a lot of the time, the artwork is not as good.

I wouldn't mind seeing you talk about great just Blu Ray titles that have been released around the world too. Doesn't have to be 4k.
From what i read on the 4k review for Escape From New York it isn't all that good why i never bought it plus i want a proper 4k steelbook with a nice artwork with a new scan from the negative if the reviews are correct on the transfer. I do love the rambo medie book's artwork there fantastic shame its has german language on the booklets. Why can't we have this in 4k or as a steelbook with this artwork all in english as well it would've been a day one buy as a 4k media or steelbook complete box set. I just don't like the rambo steelbook we have in the uk there so crap
some other extremely premium labels overseas are: Manta Lab from Hong Kong (one of the best in the world), Filmarena from Check Republic, HDZeta from china, Blufans from China, etc

I like this movie too, but it is definitely not the best John Carpenter movie. I think you would have people arguing all day long as to which movie of his is the best. Numero 1. 🤪🫨 The Thing, Cristine, They Live, Vampires, Big Trouble in little China, In the mouth of madness, and other greats have to battle it out to be considered the Best of the Best. 😳😧🤔😁😏😏
