I saw him at Universal Studios Florida with his family and just admired him from afar. We were on the Jurassic Park ride and him, his family and his bodyguard were in the car in front of us. His security guy was so big he took up the whole back seat. He seemed super nice though.

I met him in 2004 in Valdosta, GA. His band was playing a free concert in the parking lot of a bookstore for a 4th of July celebration. Across the parking lot was a regional wrestling show. I was with the wrestlers since I knew them personally.
Later that night at the bar, Dee stops by our table and wanted to tell the guys they put on a hell of a show and that he’d watch when he could from the stage.
He asked me if I wrestled and I told him that I was in the Air Force. He shook my hand and bought us a pitcher of beer.
He’s a very down to earth guy. Very cool dude!

I think a lot of us more sneaky-loved them. I was a kid when we're not gonna take it came out, but in the late 80s as a teen, we where all more into hardcore and thrash. But we all secretly loved TS... and KISS actually. But you know, when your a teenager you gotta pretend to only be into the hard stuff. Image and all that. And by the time the 90s came around, it became more about the flannelette and black jeans, and as the joke amongst my scummy friends went, girls getting confused and thinking us metalheads had feelings (Can thank Kurt for that lol).

Satan? He’s too nice to be Satan. I met him in 2004 in Valdosta, GA. They were doing a free concert for the 4th of July in the parking lot of a bookstore. It was part of a huge strip mall. On the other side of the parking lot was a free wrestling event which is where I was because I knew some of the guys performing.
Fast forward a few hours and Dee Fucking Snyder walked in to the Mellow Mushroom, shook hands with the wrestlers (Glacier was their headliner and a drinking buddy at the time). Glacier introduced me to Dee and told him I was in the military. He shook my hand, thanked me for serving, and then dropped $100 bill on the table to pay for our tab.
That was my one and only time meeting him. Dee Snyder is as straight as it gets. Nothing but respect for that dude.

This was a good one. And Dee was a great interview.
It was cool hearing about the evolution of a song like "We're Not Gonna Take It."
And how his wife said "You're a classically trained counter-tenor" to convince him to write and sing a Christmas song for her.
And knowing that Celine Dion sang that song and sold 14 million copies of the album it was on?
    Awesome.
I doubt it would ever happen, but it would just be too cool if Dee and Celine would do a version of that song together as a duet.
    Don't scoff.
David Bowie once did a very beautiful duet with Bing Crosby.

I was at that arrow rock festival show. Man what a show it was! I even remember Dee making jokes about being so late they didn't even have time to take a shit haha.
Also, somebody threw a toothbrush on stage and some jokes were made about that.
I was surprised that Dee still remembers that show, but man it makes me happy. It was the first time I saw Twisted live and I'm glad I was there!

I mean, there was Dimebag Darrell, and Randy Rhoads, two of the greatest shredders that ever lived, and THEN there's this guy, who not only would go out and rock and sing all done up in makeup and shit, he was there at the 1985 PMRC hearing, to defend what he was the most passionate about in life, and the greatest genre in rock music for the rest of us metal-heads!

In grade 3 in the mid 80's, Air Bands were a thing in our school. A few buddies and I did two songs from The Stay Hungry Album. The teachers weren't smart enough I guess to do a little research into the content of the songs. While all the other kids were playing Kenny Rogers songs, we came out to "I wanna Rock" and Burn in Hell. Needless to say, the total shock and awe was brutal, no more class Air Bands. Years later, Dee Snider was a guest DJ at a Bar in my city and I remember him bringing the house down. A total professional and entertainer. I'm glad he has had so much success!
