    This is in South Africa. There are a ton of surfers in South Africa. I’m sure there not surfing in this area but they still gotta be close… they are brave souls cos after seeing this i would not put a toe in the water over there 😳

    I used to surf on both coasts in the US.
    On the West Coast, we used to see them swim past on their way north to eat off SF.
    Was I afraid? Of course, I'm not stupid. Did they ever stop to bother us? Nope, not once. We didn't fit their food profile, they wanted seals or sea lions, not skinny surfers, we weren't worth the caloric output.

      @JoyfulNerd400 I can't say that I've always shown such logic unless you count the fact that I married a beautiful zoologist.
      I did enlist in the military and used the money I saved to become a physicist and teach some amazing young people.
      Sharks are necessary for oceans to survive, no oceana, no us.

      @@JoyfulNerd400 I didn't change my mind at all. If my knees still worked, I'd surf today with sharks. They want more calories than I can provide them. They're amazing predators and beautiful animals.

    Water temp could be the reason of the color change. Humans change colors when in the sun too long or season changes etc.

    I would think the color of the shark would have a lot to do with the color of the water , clear to dirty ; Blue clear to other colors of clear

    What if the color change is simply due to the sharks blushing? Seriously, what if Great Whites skin pigmentation somehow reacts to the Water temperature or to the Sharks body temperature or both?
