I will be attempting this on my spare time at work. working in the metal shop in a Canadian air force base! 1:52 you could also use a pencil grinder and a chain saw file set to get the shapes out, instead of a jewelers saw. I would lay it on some scrap wood and grind away the brass and wood.
a bit of a hard debate. the snapping sound is technically your finger slapping the palm of your hand. but when you have metal plating around your hand and fingers, the source of the sound is no longer your fingers, and more of the clanking between two metal pieces. while the sound is still produced by the same motion, i guess it really depends on how technical you wanna get.
Correct, which is why I said it's technically not a snap, but it does sound like one, it's made using the same motion, and it feels no different than a snap as you wear it.
So a couple questions. Why such a thick glove? Is it that a smaller more form fitting one wouldn’t hold up to that much wear and tear from the riveting? I’ve seen this metal infinity gauntlet floating around eBay that has one key distinction. The stones are removable and light up themselves vs the wiring within the gauntlet. Would you find that method easier? Or do you prefer it being one solid piece with no removable parts?
I used the biggest gloves I could find so that it would appear to be sort of squat and bulky. If you pay close attention to the one in the movie and compare it to the plastic gauntlets you can buy, the plastic ones are slimmer, especially in the fingers. There are also details added that are not present in the film, such as the weird snake emblem in the center and the crescent moon things on two of the fingers. As for the lights, it would be cool to make them removable like the toy, but in order to get good light effect (the lights in my gauntlet are not edited in any way in the video footage) the lights cannot be inside the stones (I tried and I could not make it look natural). So I had to resort to putting it all inside the gauntlet...which works for me because once finished, it goes on display and I won't be touching it pulling the stones out, etc.
