Great video, again mate...👍 The majority of us dont have $100k to spend on a rig and then another $100k on accessories, like 99% of videos on RUclips talking about 79's. This is realistic, and well thought out what your talking about for average joe wanting to trip around. I couldnt agree more on running good quality tyres and the steel rims. I bent 2 alloy wheels up the cape. And tgere was no chance of straightening them, like you can with a steel wheel. Changed out to Sunrasias and I've had no issues since running D-hole steelies now, cause they look a little better, with the fake bead lock. Tyres, I started on Bridgestone Dessert Duellers, tried Hankooks(failed miserably), then Kumho's(even worse) Pirelli Scorpians(also crap) Spent some $ on BF Goodies and I've never had another tyre issue. No puntctures, nothing. Got fantastic life out of them aswell. Even doing The Cape, Simpson Dessert, High Country etc etc. A tip I got was to check out local dumps in the out back towns, Birdsville is a great example, and youll soon see whats shit piled up out there. Currently running Toyo Open Country MT's, only cause they had one more ply than the BF's.. but i can highly recomend the BF's.... so far so good on the Toyo's though....👍
Great video. I particularly like the lack of background music. Just first rate delivery of knowledge and helpful hints. Some of these videos have hideously loud "background music". With regards to the scan gauge ... do you have a video on that topic?
@@SmartTouringSystems Just leave the music off throughout the dialogue delivery, keep it for the title opening and closing scenes and even then, keep the style of music subdued.
Hey mate, running a very similar set up with my dual cab cruiser, with only 9,000km on it I still haven’t decided on what tyres to run. Do you think the 285s decreased the power, or made the ute use a considerable about of extra fuel?
hard to say mate as I did all the mods pretty close together. In a nutshell it will always use more fuel and feel less powerful. I would go 285s again however.
Hey man nice rig and great video can't agree enough having traveled this big old country... tell me where did you get that canopy? It's gold mate, fkn love the way it just produces a Great Northern crisp as if by magic hahaha good onya mate.

Cheers mate.
I use the DCS Lithium's as well... they are amazing!!!
Nice Vid,
Just wondering if you have a link to the scan gauge you're using.

Thanks mate, yes volume levels are something we are always careful with. The Scan gauge is a great topic. Stay tuned.

Yes indeed the best feature is the cold beer 🍺.
Hi mate just wondering what size exhaust did you put on
It’s a 3.5 inch torqit mate
best modification is not taking out a loan on a depreciating asset you can't afford.
That goes with everything. Except they haven’t been depreciating really. Probably will one day but not for a while yet.
