Nope so even at lv 255 she will die in 1 hit theirs only 1 way to be immune to ALL damage WITHOUT a bloody helm/armor but the ITEM THAT causes that effect KILLS its user 10 seconds later making a solo Rena lv 255 on Earth mode run impossible.
Exactly and Not even CLAUDE would WIN boss fights at lv 255 in UNDER 10 seconds if using that item that would KILL him 10 seconds after you use it. Precis CAN'T equip the Bloody armor/Helm at all so she SUCKS because of that Bowman CAN.
Also i found the best combination to get the HP and MP drain factors is by using, 3 Portraits, and 1-2 armors as materials, it will fill up the support gauge while reducing the buff and special to 0.
For MAXIMUM efficiency when searcing for HP absorb, do this: 1st: Sell all the books of one type that you dont care, in my case "Dish of the day" (That will clear it from your latest obtained list) 2nd: Use the skill Write to create 20 of that book you sold. In my case, 20 Dishes of the day (This will put this book on the top of latest obtained items) 3rd: Have equipped the weapon (This will make it appear higher up on the remaking list) 4th: NOW SAVE 5th: Down on the dpad, select remake. Choose the weapon you wish to give the effect, and then press L1 L1 to go to latest obtained items, use 5 of the books. Should be on the first slot. 6th: repeat the process 3 more times until you used all the books before loading the savefile to try again. This took me about 20 minutes for each weapon, I can't think any other steps that would reduce the amount of inputs per reset. keep it up and good luck!
Bloody helms are still CRAP you can still die as soon as you MP hits zero and it will once Etheral Queen starts her spinning attack by the time her SPIN attack ends with a BLOODY HELM equipped your 999 MP will already BE AT 0 which is why the helms still SUCK.
what a amazing sync of using 2 elements together I am hyped to see it done this way and but will not be trying this for my sake of enjoyment, but if I give up on all hope I may try this.
I swapped it around and did MP drain on Levantine and then wore the bloody helmet. Then you just have to spam killer moves/special arts endlessly and still get the same invincibility and mana resets on damage all the same. Worked great.
I saw on a reddit post on how you can increase the chances of getting either HP drain or MP drain. First unlock the master chef specialty then within that specialty select eggs and dairy two times to create the food item plain omelet. This food item increases the chances for rare factors but only for 2 times. Once you have eaten the plain omelet go to remaking and select for all 5 slots factor energy.
That's not needed the Bloody armor already does that only the Dream Peace TIME stop effect IN the Cave of Trials can't be nulled from bloody armors BUT that time stop effect DOES count as a STATUS ailment so instead of using a useless accessory to null Dream Peace USE the NULL status ailment FORMATION i effects instead. As in KEEP a Beserk Ring + Ring of Might on Claude and the Marvel Sword WITH a HP drain effect should still do 9999 PER HIT.
You don't I believe its 1 of the POST game FUN City arena based ones but since You'll likely STILL NEED a Bloody armor user to win that fight its useless besides Bloody armors already make you IMMUNE TO Poison Paralyze Petrify anyways. Theirs also the Null MOST Status ailments formation though with a Bloody armor on a Solo Claude is still nearly useless theirs only 1 STATUS attack that Bloody armors can't NULL but the NULL all formation/accessory won't NULL the Dream Peace TIME stop effect which just so happens that ONLY 1 enemy IN the Cave of trials can use it. IE the 3rd floor boss can BUT those STILL show up on floor 7 to 9 then AGAIN on Floors 12 and 13 as a normal battle its also the boss you KILL to get the Phantom/Weird Slayer needed to kill the main boss of its 5th floor.
Even with this trick Ashton is still crap as in STILL BLOODY armor Opera with Healing star BEFORE you can get the MARVEL Sword to have HP drain the Aeterna still SUCKs for HP absorb and that's only because the 13th Cave of Trials boss may still ABSORB the Light Elemental damage IT causes.
This is the first thing i did when i realized you can get hp drain factor on weapon, they made the already op bloody armor more op lol. Also Chisatos ultimate weapon that drains MP can be viable now, when you add MP drain factor to it.
About that I'm sure Chisato's MP LOSS effect from the Psychic gun will NOT have MP drain actually work she would still possibly still LOSE MP per hit even with a MP drain factor so for he actually USE the Phantom Slayer 5th CoT floor weapon since that one by Default already HAS a HP drain effect and both Chisato/Bowman can equip it. Precis can't equip the Bloody armor so she's still USELESS even WITH the Phantom Slayer equipped for the HP drain effect.
Yes but in that one you can NOT set all 8 party members TO that class so for that one give that job class to a party member that has a Physical MP cost skill the ONE that drain HP off of enemies and TRANSFERS it BACK to that party member so that he will NEVER die.
With this build you could add Full Reset factor on the armor to make it so your status effects heal up in 10 seconds. As long as you attack you should be fine.
About that if your going to happen Dragon Roar Rock Explosion or Mirror Blade for 9999 damage each AND STILL BLOODY armor him then your actually better OFF WITH the HP drain effect since you MUST have the Ring of Might and Berserk ring BOTH used so that the Marvel Sword ITSELF does 9999 per hit using those 3 KM's of his especially at lvs over 150.
Hi , I prefer bloody helmet and weopon with mp steal that way I will not die even I don't hit anything right, sadly it's hard to get a mp steal factor in a weapon
While the NEW Update has Chaos mode so boss stats are about the same has 4D mode so 4x HP not double but as long as Claude SOLO is bloody armored for the entire game even CHAOS mode enemies won't do ANY damage to him AT all though he MUST do 99,999 per hit else draining like 12 million HP OUT of Etheral queen for Chaos mode would take TOO long.
Yes BUT ONLY worth the BLOODY ARMORS in 2nd evolution you can't NULL the Bloody helms MP drain effect so the helms are still crap and for the PSP game you MUST bloody armor Claude Dias Opera Bowman/Chisato.

This is nothing. The best strategy is to have 4 people in bloody armor, then take control of Opera and then spam her healing spell. It cost 10 MP and at Proficiency 999 uses it will AoE heal for 9,999 But... you have to take control of Opera because she won't use the healing spell if the AI uses her. I've beat every super boss with this strategy back in the day.
Its a no brainer Bloody armor is for 100% invincibilty you can still be damaged with Side Kick abuse on earth/galaxy mode unless the pc has a defense over 5000 at max level. That and Bloody armors will be abuseable as soon as you get 9999 HP is can be way earlier then it takes to get the 5000 defense setup for no damage.
I am BEFORE its possible to get HP absorb on weapons though have Claude Opera Dias Chisato/Bowman all lv 100 with 9999 HP and Healing Star will still restore 5000 of it ON all 4.
About that because skills cost LIKE TRIPLE their SP cost I actually prefer the PS1/PSP version as the better game for example on the PS1/PSP Version I could easily have Blacksmith at lv 10 by the time Claude Opera Bowman/Rena are all lv 100 and STILL have the increased SP super specialty Enlightenment at lv 10 at lv 100. On this R version instead of taking like 130 lvs to MAX out ALL the Item creation skills AND BATTLE skills to lv 10 on 1 party member it would take closer to 200 OF your 255 lvs to DO so. That makes this one take like 70+ hours just before you can access the Cave of Trials in the POST game the PS1/PSP version doesn't even take me 25 HOURS before you can access the Cave of Trials at all but on those v versions just saving in from of the Final boss unlocks it. While the Cave of Trials you can't still save the game this R versions AUTO Saving may still kick in every time you go Up/down a Cave of Trials floor for all 13 but yes in the PS1/PSP version the 7th to 13th Cave of trials floors CAN still do 9999 damage in 1 hit AT lv 255 and that's just the NORMAL enemies on Earth mode.
Star Ocean is chock full of stuff that, so long as you know what you're doing, you can easily snap the games difficulty in half. I remember laughing my ass off when even the postgame superbossess ultimate attack in 3 did ZERO DAMAGE.😂
Only on Earth and Galaxy mode on Universe mode not EVEN 9999 defense will null their worst attacks and on 4D mode defense is useless just being hit once on 4D mode and you can lose the full 99,999 HP your party members have in 1 hit and those 2 bosses WORST attacks easily hit 20 times or MORE.
So the HP is still capped at 9999 huh? I wish it was something like FFX or SO3 where you can get past 9999 value.. how about damage? is it also capped at 9999 per hit?
and also going mp route ya can use the soul jacket from fishing with the rare crit factor adding 2% mp leech and 2 % hp lech and instent death imunity and petrafacation.. can also add the 2 rings off the achevement thing with blue and red dragon factors on them for more leech 10% hp/ 10% m[ and get this Wafer and fire imunity ..
At the early game when you enter the tournament eith claude and have to rescue that blacksmith, after finishing the tournement and claiming your reward from the shop you chose immediately go back to the blacksmiths house on the hill (DO NOT LEAVE TOWN) and he will give you a sword which you can customize using mithril and then do a mithril customization again on the sword you got from the first one and you get aeterna. (Sorry for being so vague, i hope you understood) make sure you save before doing the customization
For a Bloody armor Claude you don't the 100% Hit Rate of the Marvel Sword is a MUST especially on UNIVERSE mode after all a HP drain effect on a bloody armored SOLO party member like Claude/Dias is actually useless if you can't land a SINGLE physical hit on its target the Marvel Swords make that IMPOSSIBLE so that your hits will NEVER miss. Btw it NEVER actually restored 9999 HP it restores 60% of all party members HP at 999 uses so Opera on the PS1/PSP version only healed for 5000 HP at 999 healing star uses WHILE this version doesn't HAVE total uses Healing Star BEFORE a HP drain effect is possibly STILL heals for 5000 HP to all party members INCLUDING HERSELF.
Bloody armors make you immune to all damage and with his LIMITER OFF NOT ONLY will his PHYSICIAL hits still do 9999 per hit on earth mode at lv 255 so will his ATTACK spells + Divine Wave.
Pretty much yes but the reason the Aeterna SUCKS is because if lv 255 Claude on Earth mode still CAN land a SINGLE hit against Etheral Queen OR the Red Raid bosses it makes HP absorb useless that's why HP absorb MUST be used on the Marvel Sword or Chisato's Psychic Gun both are 100% Hit weapons so you'll never miss. While Gine the BIRD boss you normally fight with Ashton CAN make the 100% hit Marvel Sword actually miss that won't actually happen with a lv 100+ Claude.
Nope eve at lv 255 I still could NOT Iselia queen eve on the PS1/PSP version WITHOUT The Marvel Sword on BOTH Claude and Dias so KEEP it equipped on both of them with the Ring of Might and Berserk ring the Marvel Sword will still do 9999 per hit (without break damage limit) by lv 100.
Hmm 🤔 so his weapon already gives it the sparkle that acts as hits but you're telling me if i slap like a slayers ring for 2 extra attacks hes practically infinite heal if he isnt already 👀😳 i wonder how it'll fair with dias crimson diablos as hes mostly single hit burst 🤔
there is better weapons in R and you can get accessories that make the stars for eternal sphere work with any weapon, also there's one that lets you do 2 extra hits per attack with 1 accessory, so equip 2 and you can do 5 attacks with one click and its not mirror slice although that move got upgraded, so on claude his normal attack combo is 3 hits, with that it would be 15 in a third of the time that mirror slice goes out plus you add some factors like dmg% or drain hp you'll be nice and comfy edit claifying something
About that they aren't really buyable until the 2nd half of the game so at first use a lv 100 Claud Opera Bowman Dias party ALL with Bloody armors equipped AND use Healing Star yourself.

I'm doing my second playthough like normal, but I'm gonna do a new game plus after with my max level characters and see if I can beat him then. I managed to actually do a few 1000 damage to him on universe at only level 30ish so I think it's possible as long as you don't get hit.
About that in order to do a SOLO run you must ONLY have up to 5 party members in total any more and the 6th to 8th party members may possibly be forced to fight battles.
I’m not sure I get it. You can just press L1 or R1 (on PlayStation) to change the maximum party size to fight in battle. Doesn’t that make it solo if you just keep it at 1 character in battle?
Putting this in the remake was perhaps the biggest mistake. Bloody armor was already exploitable as all hell, but this just makes the gameplay even more brainless. Don't even need to use MP, just mash attack for infinite invincibility.
About that KEEP the Marvel Sword equipped since Bloody armors are useless if even at lv 255 he can't HIT the super bosses at all so make the Marvel Sword be the one to have a HP/MP drain effect. Dias though he can't USE healing spells with Him bloody armored and the Marvel Sword on HIM having a HP drain effect he can't die. The Phantom/Weird slayer weapon CoT floor 5 already has a HP drain effect so Chisato/Bowman can be bloody armored and they will never die Chisato's MP drain weapon that causes HER to lose MP a MP drain factor should NOT overide its MP loss for her so just keep the Phantom slayer on Chisato instead.
On THIS version the Cave of Trials/Expel is POST game only so kill the FINAL boss SAVE the game and instead of choosing the NG+ option LOAD the Cleared Save file in order to go to the Cave of Trials in Expel first. BUT BEFORE going Bloody armor Claude OPERA Chisato and Dias/Bowman.
I did the entirety of the Maze of Tribulations, Gabriela, Iseria Queen and Unlimited Gabriel with Aeterna. And Chisato who was also invincible. Why use the Sword of Marvels when it's weaker than the Aeterna?
Why because even on the PSP version on Earth mode at lv 255 I had that weapon get BLOCKED still 100% of the time against all 3 bosses with the Marvel Swords 100% hit rate AND the Beserk ring + Ring of Might equipped by lv 100 Claude should still do 9999 per hit WITH the Marvel Sword and never get the hits blocked. So WITHOUT having the Aeterna WITH a 100% hit rate skill on it the weapon even with Claude Bloody armored is pure crap since the only way to really DIE solo with a Bloody armor equipped against all 3 of THOSE bosses at lv 255 is if you can't even HIT them at all.
Star Ocean games want to be broken in the same way BOTW/TOTK want you to be creative and cheat. What really makes a star ocean game is the blistering pace of battles and the ability to tinker with just about every conventional feature of a JRPG. The developers knew what they were doing.
They want people to have fun instead of struggling, star ocean divine force is example you can break the game as early as you get the alchemy, and they never patch it, if you know what happened to Diablo 4.
I know this is a thing in the game but I personally call it cheating. That said, I might use it for raid bosses, as I am on universe difficulty, with a battle suit, lv 75-80 and most of the Raid bosses on Expel still hit me for 9999, Defense feels basically useless. My claude has over 1000 def, and he still gets hit for 9999 by the bird and golem. No idea how you'd kill most of them without this armor, at least on universe difficulty.
About that I had Iselia Queen at LV 255 on EARTH mode PS1/PSP version still hit for 9999 PER hit with A based 3000 Defense stats even with that boosted with 1 HP left AND the Seraphic Garb equipped. Also on Earth mode if IQ isn't killing you with 9999 Physical hits all of HER spells including Meteor STORM will still hit for 9999 as well as lv 255. For at the 50 Survival battles the bird in match 50 can still do 9999 PER hit 3000 max physical defense on earth mode AT LV 255 at FULL HP even with the Valiant Mail/Helm/Boots all equipped on Claude.
Warning! The game will be easy! The game is already easy. If all you do is use the obvious things that increase exp, you realize you can power level super easy in a just a few battles. My characters were all in their 50's before leaving the first continent, and the only "grinding" I did was while walking around looking for fishing spots.

Try Bloody Helmet + MP Drain instead. Now you're invincible AND you never have to worry about running out of MP.

Even in universe, power leveling for 20 mins + proper IC makes it easy still for OG players who know what they're doing, still fun and refreshing tho
Instead of using HP drain you can just use the sword of life special art. At that point it full heals you and more

WOW. I remember doing this in Star Ocean 5, but with Second Story R, the HP Drain really is a step further. No need to rely on healers.

This is a good way to be invincible. You could also just avoid remaking entirely and just use the sword of life skill. damages enemies and heals you.

You dont even need the weapon factor. With his special art "healing blade" (something like that) he can heal himself

Healing Star is NOT a Spell so you actually need to use it yourself BEFORE HP drain effects can be set to weapons.

Its a no brainer Bloody armor is for 100% invincibilty you can still be damaged with Side Kick abuse on earth/galaxy mode unless the pc has a defense over 5000 at max level.
That and Bloody armors will be abuseable as soon as you get 9999 HP is can be way earlier then it takes to get the 5000 defense setup for no damage.

About that because skills cost LIKE TRIPLE their SP cost I actually prefer the PS1/PSP version as the better game for example on the PS1/PSP Version I could easily have Blacksmith at lv 10 by the time Claude Opera Bowman/Rena are all lv 100 and STILL have the increased SP super specialty Enlightenment at lv 10 at lv 100.
On this R version instead of taking like 130 lvs to MAX out ALL the Item creation skills AND BATTLE skills to lv 10 on 1 party member it would take closer to 200 OF your 255 lvs to DO so.
That makes this one take like 70+ hours just before you can access the Cave of Trials in the POST game the PS1/PSP version doesn't even take me 25 HOURS before you can access the Cave of Trials at all but on those v versions just saving in from of the Final boss unlocks it.
While the Cave of Trials you can't still save the game this R versions AUTO Saving may still kick in every time you go Up/down a Cave of Trials floor for all 13 but yes in the PS1/PSP version the 7th to 13th Cave of trials floors CAN still do 9999 damage in 1 hit AT lv 255 and that's just the NORMAL enemies on Earth mode.

Only on Earth and Galaxy mode on Universe mode not EVEN 9999 defense will null their worst attacks and on 4D mode defense is useless just being hit once on 4D mode and you can lose the full 99,999 HP your party members have in 1 hit and those 2 bosses WORST attacks easily hit 20 times or MORE.

the bloody helm and mp leech is better then the bloody hp set up on cluad..
and also going mp route ya can use the soul jacket from fishing with the rare crit factor adding 2% mp leech and 2 % hp lech and instent death imunity and petrafacation.. can also add the 2 rings off the achevement thing with blue and red dragon factors on them for more leech 10% hp/ 10% m[ and get this Wafer and fire imunity ..

At the early game when you enter the tournament eith claude and have to rescue that blacksmith, after finishing the tournement and claiming your reward from the shop you chose immediately go back to the blacksmiths house on the hill (DO NOT LEAVE TOWN) and he will give you a sword which you can customize using mithril and then do a mithril customization again on the sword you got from the first one and you get aeterna. (Sorry for being so vague, i hope you understood) make sure you save before doing the customization
For a Bloody armor Claude you don't the 100% Hit Rate of the Marvel Sword is a MUST especially on UNIVERSE mode after all a HP drain effect on a bloody armored SOLO party member like Claude/Dias is actually useless if you can't land a SINGLE physical hit on its target the Marvel Swords make that IMPOSSIBLE so that your hits will NEVER miss.
Btw it NEVER actually restored 9999 HP it restores 60% of all party members HP at 999 uses so Opera on the PS1/PSP version only healed for 5000 HP at 999 healing star uses WHILE this version doesn't HAVE total uses Healing Star BEFORE a HP drain effect is possibly STILL heals for 5000 HP to all party members INCLUDING HERSELF.

Pretty much yes but the reason the Aeterna SUCKS is because if lv 255 Claude on Earth mode still CAN land a SINGLE hit against Etheral Queen OR the Red Raid bosses it makes HP absorb useless that's why HP absorb MUST be used on the Marvel Sword or Chisato's Psychic Gun both are 100% Hit weapons so you'll never miss.
While Gine the BIRD boss you normally fight with Ashton CAN make the 100% hit Marvel Sword actually miss that won't actually happen with a lv 100+ Claude.

Hmm 🤔 so his weapon already gives it the sparkle that acts as hits but you're telling me if i slap like a slayers ring for 2 extra attacks hes practically infinite heal if he isnt already 👀😳 i wonder how it'll fair with dias crimson diablos as hes mostly single hit burst 🤔
there is better weapons in R and you can get accessories that make the stars for eternal sphere work with any weapon, also there's one that lets you do 2 extra hits per attack with 1 accessory, so equip 2 and you can do 5 attacks with one click and its not mirror slice although that move got upgraded, so on claude his normal attack combo is 3 hits, with that it would be 15 in a third of the time that mirror slice goes out plus you add some factors like dmg% or drain hp you'll be nice and comfy

About that they aren't really buyable until the 2nd half of the game so at first use a lv 100 Claud Opera Bowman Dias party ALL with Bloody armors equipped AND use Healing Star yourself.
And you can get status immunity with 300 gauge.
Bloody armors already make you immune to MOST status not ALL of them but that formation IS STILL useful with Cave of trials only.
What about harder difficulty?
It still works since the Marvel Sword for Claude NEVER misses and Dias can also equip it WITH a HP drain effect.

About that he can't be killed even at lv 100 but the game uses FIXED equipment against Dias the bloody armors aren't 1 of them.

@veghesther3204 I'm actually curious to see how that goes on my new game plus. I'm doing my second playthough like normal, but I'm gonna do a new game plus after with my max level characters and see if I can beat him then. I managed to actually do a few 1000 damage to him on universe at only level 30ish so I think it's possible as long as you don't get hit.
Universe mode requires Dias in the party and on a Rena game the AI controls Claude for that fight and kind of SUCKS at controlling him against Dias.

About that in order to do a SOLO run you must ONLY have up to 5 party members in total any more and the 6th to 8th party members may possibly be forced to fight battles.
I’m not sure I get it. You can just press L1 or R1 (on PlayStation) to change the maximum party size to fight in battle. Doesn’t that make it solo if you just keep it at 1 character in battle?
That may only work if you have less then 4 total party members joining besides Claude/Rena that is.
Putting this in the remake was perhaps the biggest mistake.
Bloody armor was already exploitable as all hell, but this just makes the gameplay even more brainless. Don't even need to use MP, just mash attack for infinite invincibility.

About that KEEP the Marvel Sword equipped since Bloody armors are useless if even at lv 255 he can't HIT the super bosses at all so make the Marvel Sword be the one to have a HP/MP drain effect.
Dias though he can't USE healing spells with Him bloody armored and the Marvel Sword on HIM having a HP drain effect he can't die.
The Phantom/Weird slayer weapon CoT floor 5 already has a HP drain effect so Chisato/Bowman can be bloody armored and they will never die Chisato's MP drain weapon that causes HER to lose MP a MP drain factor should NOT overide its MP loss for her so just keep the Phantom slayer on Chisato instead.

On THIS version the Cave of Trials/Expel is POST game only so kill the FINAL boss SAVE the game and instead of choosing the NG+ option LOAD the Cleared Save file in order to go to the Cave of Trials in Expel first.

I did the entirety of the Maze of Tribulations, Gabriela, Iseria Queen and Unlimited Gabriel with Aeterna. And Chisato who was also invincible. Why use the Sword of Marvels when it's weaker than the Aeterna?
Why because even on the PSP version on Earth mode at lv 255 I had that weapon get BLOCKED still 100% of the time against all 3 bosses with the Marvel Swords 100% hit rate AND the Beserk ring + Ring of Might equipped by lv 100 Claude should still do 9999 per hit WITH the Marvel Sword and never get the hits blocked.
So WITHOUT having the Aeterna WITH a 100% hit rate skill on it the weapon even with Claude Bloody armored is pure crap since the only way to really DIE solo with a Bloody armor equipped against all 3 of THOSE bosses at lv 255 is if you can't even HIT them at all.

Star Ocean games want to be broken in the same way BOTW/TOTK want you to be creative and cheat. What really makes a star ocean game is the blistering pace of battles and the ability to tinker with just about every conventional feature of a JRPG. The developers knew what they were doing.
They want people to have fun instead of struggling, star ocean divine force is example you can break the game as early as you get the alchemy, and they never patch it, if you know what happened to Diablo 4.
I know this is a thing in the game but I personally call it cheating. That said, I might use it for raid bosses, as I am on universe difficulty, with a battle suit, lv 75-80 and most of the Raid bosses on Expel still hit me for 9999, Defense feels basically useless. My claude has over 1000 def, and he still gets hit for 9999 by the bird and golem. No idea how you'd kill most of them without this armor, at least on universe difficulty.
About that I had Iselia Queen at LV 255 on EARTH mode PS1/PSP version still hit for 9999 PER hit with A based 3000 Defense stats even with that boosted with 1 HP left AND the Seraphic Garb equipped.
Also on Earth mode if IQ isn't killing you with 9999 Physical hits all of HER spells including Meteor STORM will still hit for 9999 as well as lv 255.
For at the 50 Survival battles the bird in match 50 can still do 9999 PER hit 3000 max physical defense on earth mode AT LV 255 at FULL HP even with the Valiant Mail/Helm/Boots all equipped on Claude.

The game is already easy. If all you do is use the obvious things that increase exp, you realize you can power level super easy in a just a few battles. My characters were all in their 50's before leaving the first continent, and the only "grinding" I did was while walking around looking for fishing spots.
