Josh, I enjoyed your 6 month review of the Google Nest Mini very much. I have 4 of them myself, and like you, I am constantly changing their location in my apartment as I think of better ways to use my Google devices. Yesterday for the first time, I paired two of them in my bedroom. It will be an interesting experiment to see how that works. Just like you, I have placed my other two Nest Minis in my two bathrooms. Thanks for all you do.

I am in the process of purchasing a house, And I am learning a lot of what I want and don't want in a smart home. I appreciate that your videos are very though. I do know that google is what I like and I will find items that deal with google.

Well done, I have 3 older mini's, love them, not sure I need more, but they sound pretty good.

Btw, I have subpar experience on my Nest Mini compared to my Home Mini. I am renting a room at my workplace. I got both Home Mini and Nest Mini as my Christmas present, so I have it them in the same room. Nest Mini definitely have better sound quality but it is less sensitive to the key word for trigger. More oftern, my Home Mini response to me rather than my Nest Mini. The Ultrasound sensing doesn't work on me consistently too. Mostly not responding to me when my hands go near by but it will respond to me when I clap my hands, this is weird.

@Quincey A. Allen Keep both. Bluetooth speakers are way more portable and useful imo. That said I like the nest for the bathroom. Can find out whatever I need to for the day and get my shower voice going with YT music.

If you set a timer/reminder in a nest mini, will it remind you in another google home devices you have connected and on your phone?
I'm about to start a smart home 'project' in my house but still can't decide between Alexa or Google. What would you recommend or what would be the top pros/cons of each? I just want them for basic stuff like turning on AC, lights, music and smart outlets

Just like everyone else, I got one of these for free from Spotify so I’m not complaining, but that home max is something else for sound quality. Blows the mini away, which is to be expected of course, but still. Wow!

I like your review series very much, but have a suggestion about the audio clips you use for sound comparisons.
They're so noisy and muddled and cluttered that all the devices end up sounding so bad that I find these sound comparisons useless.
I do audio work, and when comparing sound quality I like to use clips that aren't cluttered, but instead have distinct sounds like piano keys or guitar cords. I think the moments of silence between sounds are important (your clips are continuous sounds). To compare speakers, I'd add some discrete bass noted such as on a drum or a bass guitar.

I've got three of them now; they're great. One weakness so far is foreign language -- pronunciation is pretty bad, and it won't properly translate decently spoken French.

Hi Josh, I'm looking for best practices to use Google Nest mini (and other Google Nest audio devices) in combination with my iPhone en iPad. I'm not sure if it works as well as it does with Android devices. One of the things I've noticed is that when I play RUclips videos from my iPad and stream the audio (via bluetooth) to my Nest Mini, there's a slight delay. This is an issue I don't have with other bluetooth audio devices, but that may just be a software issue... Anyway, if you have tips, I'd be more than interested. I couldn't find much on the net. Thank you!

I am having this problem with Google Mini 2, unplug/plug, lights cycle through, then nothing. Won't allow me to do factory reset and is not recognized in home app. I've plugged and unplugged it a bunch of times, same thing every time.
I feel dumb for spending 40 bucks on one of these with all these people with free ones lol

No one else thinks anything is suspicious about these items being given away for free? I got a free one from spotify last year. And I was just sent an email from my auto insurance Nationwide that they want to give me a free Amazon echo for my car. We know these corporations are not that generous. Definitely ulterior motives here.
I don't know why, but I'm unable to do a speaker group. Every time that I want to use it only 1 mini starts playing. And most of the time Spotify doesn't even finds them.

Bluetooth pairing with the Nest mini is terrible and constantly disconnects. That is my biggest issue with it and they haven't solved the issue based on my research.
