His vocals and songwriting is just as good as his playing. And that's saying a lot because his playing is fucking fire. Hugely underrated. Man is a triple threat.
@@kastelrod439 his vocals are decent but no where close to elite. His guitar playing on the other hand is world class elite. Don’t lie and say they’re just as good.
Great playing, great singing, great passion, great groove. Why hadn't I heard of him til this week, dammit?! Dude should be a household name with that skillset.
this is the first video I found of Philip. Led to some great discoveries. He's a fuckin' top bloke too. Spoke to him on fb a few times. Always replies. A gentleman
Chicago area, in the 90’s , there was a SRV tribute band called “ SCRAWL”. They kicked butt like this. I can’t find anything on the internet about them. Great shows......
Amen brudder “ I feel God in all types of music “ Phil keaggy Myself, I dig SRV, Hendrix, Gary Moore, EVH, frampton, and I still play worship electric guitar in churches. Pentacostal, Nigerian, to Baptist and prayer meetings. But they don’t know nothing about no Philip Sayce or SRV or Hendrix or especially no Gary Moore. 🚧 BUT I DO ⚠️‼️
This by far the most instrumental bass and drums he ever played with. The other bass player was more engaging in the performance. Still this is his best band
First time I heard Philip was when he was playing with some other hotshot guitarist (whose name escapes me right now I'm ashamed to say!!) and he just blew me away.
No distortion here. Philip uses several fuzzs (depending on his mood : OXfuzz, Chicago Iron Octavian, 68 face fuzz, Square-Face fuzz made by Cesar Diaz...) + an old TS808. The Silver Klon Centaur is set as a clean boost :)

I would say on the recording it actually sounds less pop and actually very good for the song. But (in this live version at least) I'm going to have to agree with you
Blues is not dead... it might be soon though cause Sayce is killing it!
Look at Mother 10 years ago compared to now. Amazing.

No it isn’t
@@tomtroy12 yes it is bruh

An updated version of John Fuscante meets Steve Ray Vaughn! Very underrated guitar player!
He really went for it, all the hendrix tricks in one song!
First time I heard Philip was when he was playing with some other hotshot guitarist (whose name escapes me right now I'm ashamed to say!!) and he just blew me away.
Jeff Healey? A mate in work put me onto Philip Sayce a couple of days ago, and the first stuff I saw was him and Jeff.
