What a great jam that was. This just blew me away. Jamming in a place for few folks who are feeling what Philip is putting out. I’ve seen it before but tonight I got what he was putting out. Dude is a legend.
His tone is Stevie Ray all the way does a lot of Stevie Ray licks, but the one thing this guy has is fire! Not many people play like this anymore, he plays like he has a f****** gun to his head like it's the last time he'll ever play! Definitely has the goods, inside of that Stevie Ray tone he definitely has his own style!
I don't see any problem with that if he's good. There were maybe 10 original and really unique guitar players in the world. The rest is always following someone.
beto correia More like they get stuck and remain content in SRV's shadow . I guess even SRV was content emulating many of his blues heros . I guess the difference is that SRV had that certain something that caught people's attention .
@@lucassmith1319 Fun fact. Philip toured with Jeff Healey after only playing for around 6 years. He was 21. A friend introduced him to Jeff and Jeff used to just let Philip rip! There are plenty of videos online. Yes that is true. And if a powerhouse like Healey takes you on tours and let's you solo all night lol .... you got something special. 🤘
Jimi was always known for being very polite and a tad shy - if he heard this dude he would say “ darn ! I’m gonna kick his white ass all the way to Alabama 😂

@@DaveElke I think it's disrespectful to say Gales in the same sentence as Philip Sayce. I've been a session guitarist, engineer, and song writer for years. Played with almost all of my heroes. Philip is miles ahead, my friend. I mean no disrespect to him but I have to tell the truth. I don't just mean miles ahead of only Gales. Me and everyone else too hahaha. And I've played on 11 top 40 records. He is the best alive by a large margin. A spade is a spade, my friend. Of course it's all subjective as well. This is just my opinion.
@@factsonly5994 I saw Eric in LA one night, and he did a whole Hendrix set. I think you have to witness it to understand, but he was purely deep in the soul of the music. I wasn't comparing, as that's not what music is about. I've seen Holdsworth, Metheney, John Schofield, Larry Carlton, Buddy Guy, Robben Ford, Scott Henderson, Landau, Ginmbale, and many other amazing guitarists live and they are all special. This in no way takes away from Philip as I'm becoming a big fan of his as well. Cheers,

wow that gibson les paul signature bass looks and sounds hot!! it must be from the 70's. the model later on in the late 90's became the epiphone jack casady, which i own and love!!!!

Probably the most underrated blues player right now.

Strats always sound best when you beat the life out of 'em and this guy knows how.

Amen! He really leaves it all on the floor.

Philip sure knows how to light the crowd up.
He is giving 110% every night and that's a fact. A true master.
Just heard Philip Sayce for the first time about a week ago and been passing the word around. Can’t wait till he comes to Denver 👍
That stage is too small for that talent. There are some very, very lucky people in that room.
Yes, but its more vibe)
Yes yes
this guy attacks that Strat like nobody I've seen since SRV
cant agree more
I've said it and I'll say it again Phillip is one of the best guitarist walking the Planet. I can't wait to hear and meet this young man !
Wow...I naively had thought that the best blues muscians have been and gone, this is true eargasm stuff. Brilliant!
I was there for this show. He's as nice a person as he is a brilliant musician.
Sayce plays a Strat like a MONSTER!
Jimi would have loved this cover! Philip ROCKS!!!!
Those high notes give me goosebumps and chills every time.
My god unbelievable .I love it
When you get Jeff Healey as a teacher and mentor this is how good you become....... gotta love Phil and rip jeff👍

I know bar gigs are fun to play sometimes, but this guy deserves world recognition, and should be playing huge festivals. Just my humble opinion.
And what fun would that be?
Philip played in Jeff Healey's band back in the day.
This has always been one of, if not my favorite Jimi Hendrix song. Nice job!
Jimi was always known for being very polite and a tad shy - if he heard this dude he would say “ darn ! I’m gonna kick his white ass all the way to Alabama 😂
Holy cow! This is definitely the best cover of this song ever! Jimi would be proud!
Love that maple neck strat! Beautiful guitar
Bass player and drummer are COOKING too!!!
I saw that too brother 💯
Yes sir!
eyes closed, head back, going for it, pure feel. all blues. so good.
That by far is the best version of that cover I ever heard. Him and Eric Gales are the two best guitarist in the business I'm my opinion.
I’d much rather hear this than Eric gayles

That tone! Damn that sounds good. Especially with that Texas blues riff and smacking the hell out of the strings...
Ill tell you what is fun ...watching the bass player. That cat is having a blast!
So much energy. Just WOW!!!

my mission, to see this cat live!
One of the best places I ever heard or saw!
Has all the SRV mannerisms down pat
I have a feeling he's seen Live At The El Macambo a time or two
Samuraiguitarist brought me here, and boy... was he right. This is awesome!
Fuck, can’t wait to see this cat shred once concerts are allowed. Most underrated guitarist in the world. Damn.
Great bass tone as well!!!!!
Best three piece going, more people should know these men's names!
Jimi lives on!
Wow that was amazing
What made Stevie so great was not just his fantastic guitar playing but also his sweet and honest vocals
always wondered how SRV would sound if still alive today, now I know, just awesome
amazing wish I was there !!!
The last 300 views may be mine. Man this guy can rip!!!
I really thought It was a Jimi Hendrix cover! This guy is awesome!
It IS a Hendrix cover!

Massive friggin sound
My new favorite musician
My favorite new player
FUCK YEAH
Face......officially melted.
Wow that drummer...is also tearing it up..
Sounds like Hendrix's "Who Knows" being played by SRV.
Great comment
But better - in my opinion
Huh, funny. To me it sounds like Hendrix's "who knows" being played by Philip Sayce. The man's a legend in his in right
He actually sounds more like Gary Moore playing Hendrix than SRV ruclips.net/video/h448aMqexuo/видео.html
Just when you think your SRV chops are getting good then Sayce blows ur mind
I hope the incomparable SRV is smiling down on this cat!✊ I love it when he goes off on those super fast runs!!!!
Fantastic stuff !
Just when I think all he guitar talent has sagged on down stream.........I find this guy. Damn right!!!!!!
I agree, this dude is a talent!

Fantastic wow 😳!!!!!!

And three great guitar virtuoso in one man.
That is some heavy heavy soulful blues right there
Drummer @ 8:39
"This is why I play with him LMAO"
Phil and mother are as one
Brilliant !
Очень классное исполнение!!!👍👍👍
majestuous!
Now that's playing with purpose. he made this his own.
So SRV and Robben Ford had a kid? didn't know that 🤔
yeah !
I wanna know what strings he's got wound on? Gotta be titanium carbon unbreakable blend?
Best i have heard for a.
Long long time, randy hansen was the last time.
One cool jam!💥
Can we get Josh Smith, Kirk Fletcher, Mike Landau, Joe Bonamassa, and this guy on the same show, please?
This guy should have his own show. Those other people aren't even close to Philip.
Joe actually has a cruise ship vacation called Blues at Sea. I think Kirk Fletcher and Phillip Sayce are going to do it.
Philip Sayce is the modern day SRV.
Top of the fuckin' NOTCH!
Canada's pride
he reminds me of SRV !
philip to band : lets jam C# i will set it up.........Nails IT!
Wow! 👍👍🍻😎
Special thanks for the pan down at the pedal board! 🤣
