      To me Healey has the better voice. But Sayce has the better guitar chops. Although I will say and doubt the way Healy plays guitar in general is incredible and unique only to him. I could be wrong a master dobro player may prove me wrong but I don't know of any dobro players playing like that so I'd say Healy is the master of that technique at least.

    what Phillip Sayce and Jeff Healey, rest his soul, have in common is a rare skill among bluesmen - the ability to good songs that stand up by themselves.

    Back then in 2000.. I saw him together with my heavy metal band... right just after a concert we had performed in the same area.... We went to the Jeff Healey concert and to have more Beers...then this guy was introduced by Jeff... and we all laughed and commenting that he looked like the Hanson Brothers(which he did).... Our laugh became to shame.. when he started to sing and play... We knew after 20 sec. that he had something even I thought that he tried too hard like showing of... but he was and still is very talented. Just recently found out that Philip Sayce was the Hanson Brother we saw back in 2000. he he

    • @atta1798
      @atta1798 Год назад +1

      For sure this is his best performance pure raw expression.... he still has the energy but does not improvise and focus his creativity like this on the videos I have seen....such as SRV would do every concert or Hendrix... but definitely here it is a classic for him to stay in history.. for sure

    I have seen that tour here in Canada and during all of Jeff Healey's solo the band would bring the sound down(just like they did during this video)and Sayce would play all the loud part.Jeff did a horrible solo on this one but he used to be as loud as Sayce way back when he started. I guess he mellowed down quite a bit as he grew older.I also remember seeing him drink tons of beer during the gig.

      Jeff Healey developed a "Retinoblastoma" as a small child and has been blind ever since. Unfortunately, he died much too early of the consequences of this illness. If you have never heard of him, I highly recommend "Jeff Healey Band & Phillip Sayce - My Guitar Gently Weeps". In summary, one of the greatest and most puristic guitarists who ever lived.
