When Fortnite og came out nearly everyone at my school and job were talking about Fortnite again and one month into chapter 5 absolutely no one was talking about it 💀
when chapter 1 came back everyone in my class was so hyped that they somehow incorporated it into school every day, one of my friends made a group for a class competition that was just called Fortnite OG. After chapter 5 rolled around no one cared anymore
They just turned the game from a creative, charmy, Memorable game. To a large ad for the "Metaverse" with no soul after chapter 4. Ive been playing chapter 1 season 2 and recently quit because of how awful the game looks, and I cant recognize it anymore for the vibrant silly battle royale / story mode game I was addicted too.
Literally same. I started playing in Ch1S2 too, and I now think this game is unrecognisable from what it once used to be. There isn't even a shadow left of the thing it once was. fortnite may not be dead, but Fortnite is indeed dead.
I agree it’s way different and the graphics the feeling of the game and the mentality I have while playing is way different to when I played in Chap1 S6 I was like 12 back then I wanna go back I loved it back then now it’s “Fortnite Chapter insert number” Not Fortnite 🥲
Thank god og Fortnite is coming back permanently, because I have no hope for the future of the game outside of that. Epic has slowly ripped away everything that made it unique until now where it’s lost its charm and identity. The game is one big cash grab now, with collab after collab.
'You can't neglect what made you Epic' Yeah try telling that to the Save the World players, the ones left behind with an unfinished game mode, abandoned like a relic of what could’ve been The Fortnite. Epic didn’t care then, and they’re not above doing the same to Battle Royale when it suits them. If it meant chasing the next big trend, they'd leave it in the dust without a second thought. It’s a reminder, when a game forgets its roots, it risks becoming just another product, slowly erasing what made it stand out in the first place, aka the Save the world aesthetic that was present for the golden era of Fortnite.
That is an extremely valid point. I have barely played Save the World, and I should clarify; when I said that line that you quoted, I was referring to how Battle Royale really took over the media and online gaming as a whole. Yes of course STW was where it all started, and the little that I have played I have thoroughly enjoyed. I imagine it is super frustrating to be playing an unfinished and rarely updated (to my knowledge) game mode. I would be lying if I did not agree that Battle Royale's original art style and mechanics and mostly everything else came from Save the World. I hope they start changing Battle Royale's trajectory before it's too late and it either becomes unrecognizable, or meets the same fate as Save the World. Thank you for sharing!
@HarryKaberry I truly hope they do too! I intended to share that Epic games are in fact NOT afraid to trample over what they've created, if it means they get to make more money of course.
@NethanielBee No it isn't lmao. The story randomly stops at the end of Canny Valley with many unanswered questions and no actual conclusion to many of the plot points that were started even back in Stonewood. Like, where did the storm come from? What is the Nothing? What's the significance of the Rifts? The only story you get outside of the main campaign are the short stories that come from events and seasonal questlines and they're usually just throwaway plots with no actual story significance.
The example i always put out when people tell me that i'm just nostalgic and don't want the game to evolve is Chapter 3, especially Season 1 and the launch. The map looked like Chapter 1 but still felt fresh, with New fun mechanics, that's what i mean by wanting epic to stay in the fortnite spirit, the game felt like Fortnite but wasnt just Chapter 1 copy pasted, i wish they didnt mess up Chapter 3 the way they did man.
Amazing response exactly people act like we’re nostalgic over everything when that’s not true epic just makes way too many unnecessary changes and people will say Fortnite players don’t like change well the thing is there’s nothing wrong with change as long as it’s good change which a lot of the new stuff clearly isn’t
I completely agree with you homie. Of course there's some nostalgia and that is more than okay. But in this case, it's more than just the nostalgia talking. I wish they didn't end Chapter 3 how they did too. It was pretty weird and confusing.
I wanna mention that the "metaverse" modes aren't being worked on by the BR team, Festival is worked on by Harmonix, Rocket Racing is worked on by Psyonix, and I don't know about Lego, but I do agree, if Epic used the same amount of effort they put into shoving collabs down out throats and put that effort into BR, then they'd be at the top of the gaming industry.
@AnythingLounge Yup. Also, this idea that people should never complain about things they love that got worse is insane. Probably a bad faith argument anyway. He's just salty someone is pooping on a game he likes. Maybe try asking yourself if the criticism is valid? Crazy idea, right?
Coming from someone who started all the way back in season 3 of Chapter 1 I can say it was better. It was simpler, there wasn’t 100 different mobility methods and the vehicles were simpler and more fun! Even though hoverboards, grapplers and shopping carts weren’t the fastest ways of getting around it didn’t matter. It was fun and gave Fortnite an identity that separated it from other games of the time. Plus the map was so much simpler, the graphics WERE Fortnite. Modern Fortnite’s graphics imo look and feel terrible and the game has lost its cartoonish charm and style to it and is unfortunately opting to go the PUBG route with more realistic graphics. Then you have the weapons, they were simpler and cartoonish (unlike modern ones) and they WEREN’T overpowered. The game felt balanced without all the medallions, bosses and mythic weapons. You landed, looted up and that was it. All in all the game WAS more enjoyable and actually felt like Fortnite and not a metaverse trying to make as much money as they possibly can.
Now that chapter 2 remix is out, I can tell that it just doesn’t feel the same. Season OG was done so well, and had very little in the way of flaws that made it bad or unplayable at times. Remix, however, just doesn’t feel the same. Chapter 2 felt like chapter 1 with extra trimmings. The map was really good and fresh, the loot pool, whilst still similar, was revamped. Remix doesn’t feel like that, though. There’s something different, and it may be sprinting, or the taken over poi’s, but that’s only 5% of the map. There’s an issue, and I believe that most people right now have elected to ignore it for the sake of nostalgia. I think fortnite has shot themselves in the foot with everything that chapter 5 and season OG was and represented. Marketing to higher ups who will never play the game, nor will be ever satisfied. The players are no longer the main priority, which has just lowered everyone’s moral. I guess it feels plastic. All of it just feels fake, like a picture of a beach instead of an actual beach. It isn’t the same, and it never will be.
@@TomOrSMTidk Oh my goodness I could not agree with you more. I was really upset by the event and the trailer for Chapter 2 remix, because it felt like they were disrespecting the original work of the team that made Chapter 2. I will admit- playing the game all day yesterday felt miles better than chapter 5 in pretty much every way lol. But I fully agree that it just isn’t the same- and doesn’t feel like the same amount of work was put into this throw back as opposed to Chapter 1 OG. I love your analogy about the photo of the beach versus the actual beach. Really good stuff. Thank you so much for sharing Mr. Tom:)) It’s encouraging to see someone engaging with the content and views in my comments. I hope you have a good day
I feel like the season seems like a big ad, ice spice (like what?!?) snoop dog, and Eminem. I wish we could have just gotten chapter 2 not chapter rap.
@@Carter-cd2fi Oh don't even get me started. My next video is going to be on Chapter 2 remix, as well as the event leading into it. But I will let you know now- I completely agree that it feels like a giant ad. Subscribe so you don't miss that video when it drops! I'll try to remember to show your comment in the video:)
@@HarryKaberryhonestly i Like Remix im already lvl 50 but i only Play it this much BC its genuienly Miles better than ch 5 its Like First tasting spoiled Milk and then drinking fresh one but yeah i can guarantee you Snoop Dog , Ice Spice and eminem probably dont even Care Abt FN They are probably Just Happy with all The Money They get although im Sure Juice would be happy
I remember hating the jungle at the end of Chapter 4 and wanting it to be gone, just to wish we still had that map 1.5 months later lmao. Chapter 4 was so underrated. I remember thinking it couldn't get worse after Chapter 2 and I was right for 2 years, until they decided it's time to hit a new low.
This is such a good quality video! I agree for me, nostalgia played a big factor on getting back onto Fortnite OG 1, it brought back the games with mates and the whole lot of fun with it! Looking forward to when they bring back Chapter 1 Season 1 permanently.
21:20 real as shit tbh, fomo and sunk cost Fallacy got my corpse stuck on this godforsaken game for eternity like a trapped soul on the flying Dutchman 😂
I’ve been playing since Chapter 1 Season 4. I’ve seen a lot come and go in BR, for better or for worse. But, it was just after the OG season ended that I realized how Fortnite is fundamentally different now than it was back then. It used to be about the calm scenery, intriguing story, and the amazing live events. But now, it’s just crossovers after crossovers. It was during C5S2 that I made the decision to retire, and I will hang up my boots after the current C2 remix ends. I don’t regret my time with this game, but it’s just changed so much to the point where it’s nearly unrecognizable. I loved the storyline with the Seven, and I’m still upset how they did them dirty at the end of Chapter 3 and have forgotten about them since. As much as it will sadden me to leave, I have realized that it’s just not the same FN anymore.
I totally understand and respect your decision bro. I know it's not the same, which was inevitable realistically. And even if something was or is inevitable in hindsight, that doesn't mean that it isn't upsetting or a bummer. Thank you for sharing homie
I also started in Ch1 Season 4. Were you a Switch player? ❤ Either way, I quit a couple seasons ago. I did come back for "Remix", but I'll probably move on after that. The game is just too different now. The realistic graphics, bullet drop weapons, weird skins and focus on other modes is just too much. Not to mention collabs being slapped onto literally everything they possibly can. When I played OG, it just reminded me of how amazing the game once was, and that I wasn't crazy or "blinded by nostalgia". It really was just simple and better. And the wild part is that OG wasn't even as good as actual Ch1. A lot of stuff was missing. Some stuff was nerfed like Quad boosting, fuel limit on planes, and trap spawn rates. Not to mention AI bot players.
@@John6-40 yes, I am a Switch player! Yeah, the excessive collabs are one reason I’ve chosen to retire. It was cool for Chapter 2 Seasons 4 and 5, and it made sense lore-wise. But now Epic is just shoehorning in anyone they choose for no logical reason other than money.
SImple fortnite graphics like chapter 1 or even 2/3 would work great i wish they would switch it back chapter 5 graphics were horrible imo... They need to make fortnite feel like fortnite
I completely agree it looks like a train wreck no pun intended, there’s so much to say about the unnecessary changes to the game and how epic doesn’t care about creating a fun/exciting for all players and the shift in focus with not centering battle royale was a huge mistake opinion, I genuinely don’t understand how you can stop working on your main game it makes no sense it’s like if another one of your favorite games decided to halt production on the base game to create other useless side games inside of the main game??!!
I'm not a fortnite player, and this vid just got recommended to me. This reminds me of what they did with the UE marketplace. They removed it and entirely replace it with "Fab" for no freaking reason. Importing assets in UE is now a pain, and they broke so much stuff by doing this. Just why.
wow. i think you perfectly put into words my feeling about the game. i’ve been playing for 6 years and i can still remember when epic used to listen to the community and tried constantly to make the game better than it was before. i just don’t understand why they refuse to listen to the community now. issues where the whole community bands together and agrees, like the new movement animations, they just completely ignore. and the new ui, i don’t understand why they fixed it. it was totally fine before. i’ve been optimistic for the past year but i keep being let down by the “mini events” and then the horrendous prelude event. i’m sure the finale event will just be another concert and nothing like what events used to be. i really hope chapter 6 will at least a little bit be another concert improvement over chapter 5.
I’m glad that you found my thoughts on the matter relatable:) Yeah I really hope one day we get good, original events again. I’m hopeful for chapter 6 in some ways. I plan on making a video about Chapter 6 and what we can expect, so if you wanna see that video be sure to Subscribe;)
@@HarryKaberry THEY NEED TO ADD BACK OLD MOVEMENT AND AN OPTION FOR NORMAL MANTLE BUILDS OR MULTIPLE WALL CLIMBING BUILDS (BUILDS WITH THE WOODEN LOG THAT MAKES IT LOOK SHIT)
ngl I started at chap1 season 3, and by the start of chap 3 I would just log in first 3 day of each new season and be like "wow cool a new marvel collab" then log of for the rest of the season, and since the start of chap 4 it did not even came in mind for me to log in, last 3 event were absolute shi because the designer or whatever his name is left the team. we really went from fighting a whole alien armada, fliping the island, an epic fight with a giant robot and a kaiju, to a fight with a lebron james sized npc who occasionaly punch the air and a png explosion after a 48h cooldown. what a downfall
Maybe the best video I've seen surrounding this. Playing Chapter 5 and the new Remix season I've realized that we should have been more grateful of what we got in the past. Though I really hope Epic for once listens to the community for Chapter 6, focusing more on battle royale. If not, Chapter 6 might aswell be the "death" of fortnite, it's indentity atleast.
21:38 it’s places like this that make me remember old fortnite; me and my random squad, i was wearing a moisty merman skin; we all were putting sprays on that wall by the truck and dancing; fortnite needs more iconic skins and such but that wall was the wall i always thought of when i saw fortnite sprays
Ima be honest your points are valid as a player but me growing up being in college for culinary arts now and having work and no longer being a kid going into chapter 2 rewind and playing it I’m realizing my games I love so much is growing up too chapter 5 will go down as the most controversial AND EVENTFUL season yet. I’m so glad that epic is still here giving us updates and trying new things especially with the last two seasons of chapter 5 being some of the most impactful. I can also already say the chapter 2 rewind is so so so good never did I think that this game could represent some of these icons they have in game and it’s proving to me that BR is back to being priority not the others.
Honestly tired of the “nostalgia carried season og” argument, there were arguably more changes and bigger and worse changes to the og map vs the remix map which was all cosmetic changes but still no one complained about the chapter one og season. Literally the basic chapter one style gameplay and look is simply better than everything thats come out since then
I believe fortnites biggest problem is quantity over quality. Where fortnites main priorities are"what sells more,, what can we get rid of, ect. Oh and also horrible employees. They got rid of everything that made people love it, as if they were ashamed of what they once were. Where it seems as if they tried really hard to make battle roayle unpopular as much as possible with meta verse. They got rid of the story, the iconic skins, seasonal events, live events, anything they need to get rid of in order to save more
The OG season was insane. It was the first time I had touched the game in 3 years and it felt like I went back in time to 2018. I was talking and playing with friends who I hadn’t seen or spoken to in years like nothing happened
Hey, I’m not sure if you knew, but the reason the live event felt like an ad and there was no br, was because from what I know, that was the last thing Donald worked on (I think.) he didn’t know what would happen to the game, and he gave us og as a parting gift. Anything after OG Donald (the ceo btw) wasn’t responsible for. The ceo was some dude who worked on god of war and I forgot what else was in his resume. But I just wanted to let yk abt that
Og wasn’t Donald’s last thing. It was ch3 s3. Also, Donald was not the ceo, he was chief creative officer which meant he worked on the storyline. The ceo is Tim Sweeney who has worked for epic for a long time before fortnite.
Donald was out the game more than a year before and he didn’t have the opportunity of closure, that’s why chapter 3 ending feel so rushed. They divided chapter 3 in 3 and 4 to made chapters yearly.
Im personaly rlly enjoying thus season the event was mid but hopefully the finale is good Ive just been messing with the cars and jumping to max height
My wife and I started playing Fortnite at the tail end of chapter Fives Season 2. The wrecked season was lame but the chapter as a whole has us captivated and forever fans.
I started playing at the tail end of Chapter 5 Season 1, I already miss the map plus the characters.. especially Hope. I wish I could've played Chapter 5 Season 1 entirely :(
The other thing i really want fortnite to do, even if they don't update or maintain the game anymore is keep some focus on save the world. Save the world is the heart of BR, it's really sad how that's also gone. BR and save the world is dying, imo. I used to love epic but after chapter 3 ended i just slowly gave up loving it.
I’m a new-gen player, so I’m definitely not qualified to talk about this subject. With that said, I can definitely understand why you feel the way you do about Fortnite now. Even though I didn’t play the first 2 chapters, I remember hearing a lot about the game. It was only when I started playing did I see how different it was back then. It 100% had more passion and care to it in the gameplay, story, art direction, etc. And remix, while a half-baked version of ch2, has helped me see a little of what BR once was.
Hey! Don't call yourself unqualified! You provided a really cool perspective that a lot of people don't have. Thank you for sharing. It's so interesting that a newer player is able to see the loss of passion and care in Battle Royale despite not being a part of it. While I will be discussing my thoughts on Chapter 2 Remix in my next video, I am very thankful that it is allowing players like you to get to experience at least in some ways the more heart-felt Fortnite through it
First of all, all the extra modes have their own teams working on them. Its not like battle royale isnt getting effort put into it, the content is just bad. And the reason the extra modes dont have that many players is Fortnite is a huge download, and aint nobody downloading it just to try an extra mode (the numbers are aight tho, compared to some steam games). Thats why its good that they have planned to let people download only what they need, but thats coming next year. I'm also in support of the metaverse stuff, but the execution hasnt been great. They tend to just throw it at your face and see what happens.
Look, I hear you. I was a late adopter- I joined fortnite during Vibin' because of zb, but I still know how it feels, to see the game change and to worry about it getting worse because of the directions of the suits. But I honestly believe that even if, yea, the game has become kiiiind of an ad fest, I think the core game is still fun. The gameplay is fun. At least I have fun playing it... I think people are very concerned (I'm not trying to diss you or anything) about the "feel" and the "aesthetic" of the game when truly I think what defines fortnite is just how fun it is to play. Jumping between lobbies quickly, goofing off with your friends in the game (and I'm mostly a solo player), to me fortnite has always been mostly a "vehicle" for socialization and bonding. And I think it still works wonderfully for that purpose. But still yeah, I hear you man. I can see your points. I have hope for the future as well, I believe C6S1 could be a banger. Let's hope. Nice video 💕
very good video! Was anxious because smaller RUclipsrs often don't have the greatest mic, but you sound good, the quality of the video is great and you brought up valid points. Looking forward to watching more from you.
As someone who actually had never touched the game before OG last year I can say without a lens of nostalgia it really does feel so different. I agree with you in the sense that nostalgia isn't the reason people feel this. I noticed not one month into a game I had never touched how different and how less fun it felt. I do hope to see more of the soul from that OG season return, it was truly so much fun and exciting. Lowkey even got me into listening to lore videos, so hope to see that return too. Kinda fire ngl 🔥
Its always the creators with low subs pulling up with the best vids. Keep it up bro dont quit we need more creators talking the truth than nick eh 30 typical gamer fake reacting for views
Fortnite’s whole vibe used to be entirely different, it has its own style, and it was honestly quite quaint. Now, Fortnite seems to hate the word quaint, and can’t stand having its own identity. It really is a shame.
It makes me sad. I have so many memories of the original chapter 1. I remember watching my friends play, I remember my first day of my favorite seasons, and I remember my first victory royal in Lucky Landing. I don't miss the feeling; I miss making good memories of a fun experience
13:31 this isn’t necessarily true. The new gamemodes have seperate teams to work on them, so the amount of effort being put into making these new games does not affect Battle Royale’s development. It might’ve affected it during Chapter 4 last year, but it certainly doesn’t now.
I can understand what you're saying. The only thing that I feel challenges it is that Chapter 5 has been seriously controversial online now that it is over. More controversial than any other chapter. And when you look at the timeline of major changes in Fortnite, accompanying the launch of Chapter 5, we saw all of these new and extra game modes. Especially after seeing what they did Chapter 2 remix, like it or not, the 4 big collabs featured in this mini season are only furthering Epic's desire to become a metaverse. Also- at 9:47 I do note that of course there is still work being put into Battle Royale. I guess a better way of putting it is that there isn't less work, but the quality of that work is not as high. Thank you for sharing!
Yes it does, I can almost guarantee you that Epic moved Battle Royale employees to work on the new game modes. They did big layoffs around the timeframe of the new game modes last year so I don't think they hired more people. Another thing is they're also allocating money and resources into those modes that could of gone into Battle Royale instead.
@@HarryKaberryI don’t even remember the difference between the chapter 5 seasons maybe that’s because there wasn’t any events but I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t there
main issue that i have is that for every season there is a colab, that colab has an associated item, the marketing team obviously wants the weapon to be stronger than an average weapon therefore the weapon 90% of the time is some overpowered weapon that is usually a splash/simple weapon that becomes the meta that will break builds and deal insane damage. im a good builder but the meta of making a box and holding is is so boring, i miss gas grenades that i can throw as an aria denial, the handcannon/ heavy sniper, tools that take skill not just pressing a button to win in addition the rarity of weapons has been drastically diluted, remember in the first couple seasons, if you had 3 of your weapons being purple or gold between your duo by top 10 you were loaded it feels since chapter 3 if you dont have atleast 2 gold weapons personally by top 25 your broke.
The reason because there are less effort in BR is because they lay off a 16% of their talent, because OG showed them that low effort content could work as well or better than polished one and because battle royale genre is dying in the videogames industry.
From a business standpoint. Innovation and change is growth. As someone who’s played since 2017, I loved chapter 5. Yes Fortnite wouldn’t be as big as they are without chapter 1 but they also wouldn’t be where they are now had they not made all the risky creative decisions over the years. The game would not be anywhere as good or big as it is now if Epic stayed in chapter 1 or didn’t take the leaps they have.
I started playing Fortnite when I was in second grade with my friends in chapter 1 season 5. I played every day up until season 8 because I just lost interest and wasn’t really having fun. ( I couldn’t win a single game)
Collabs, bots, mythics, bad map designs, overcomplicated loot pools. All destroyed the game. Once a game focuses on collabs, they never go back. The greed takes over and the game suffers as a result
This was a really good video as someone who started in ch1 season5 I feel almost the exact same way you do about whats happened with fortnite. Funnily enough though this seems to be an unpopular opinion but i would say my absolute favorite chapter had to be chapter 3, it was really the funnest to me. I loved how it was kinda like a morphed version of the chapter 1 map, also the fact that it was the backside of the chapter 2 map was really neat to me.
Y’know harry it’s crazy how Fortnite took the internet by storm but because of corporate greed and stagnation is slowly started to fade and it’s relevance started dwindling. I remember playing chapter 1 and 2 and being so excited because it was so damn fun to play.
One thing I’ve never understood is epics hatred of save the world. I mean they refuse to even take any skins from heroes and make them cheap item shop skins.
Yeah so the original development team is all but practically gone now except for like one person which really just implies why the changes have been made so drastically, also shows why save the world was left to fester and rot.
I was always so invested in the story of fortnite. But now the story just feels hollow and I feel like it’s just being put aside for advertising. I genuinely hope that they start focusing on telling a good story going forward in chapter 6.
0:11 its funny how Chapter 5 is supposed to be Similar to Chapter 2 and i had the same exhaustion that i had during the end of chapter 2, lets hope the next chapter feels refreshing like how Chapter 3 felt
If i ever hear anyone say "oh this gaming community complains alot more then that one" I'm showing them this video about how whiny fortnite's community is.
7:21 yo bro can you tell me what music is playing in the background here? It has that donkey Kong country sound that I love so It’d be really nice to know!
19:10 i enjoyed this video and basically everything you said is correct but I feel like giving up on the story/Donald leaving kinda spiraled us to where we are now.
what are your thoughts on the new leaks confirmed by leakers of the old map/seasons from chapter 1 coming back? I feel like after chapter 5 we deserve this
I started playing fortnite the last 3 days of ch.3 S4 and was kinda thrown off by what the game was at first. Coming from playing cod it was odd playing a BR for the first time and not knowing what to expect but I knew I loved it. Then on the 4th day it went down and I was like wtf is this? When did games start going into offline mode? Then suddenly we have a new chapter and season and I'm like wtf is this new map about, I just got used to the old one... 😅😅 man oh man the entire next year was peak joy... then we get hit with the new chapter and that's where your video starts. Truly if any of us would have known what was to come we woulda all been singing it's praises.
You thought the big bang event going into chapter 5 was like a big ol ad? Well, brother, I'm from the future... I have some bad news about the ch2 remix event... 😅😆 Also yeah, the pngs on those trailers! Like what?! it was just key art pngs not even in the same poses! 😆 looking foward to ch6 though. Great video with some good commentary! 😎👍🏻 The Mario Galaxy music really hit me hard at the end.
I heavily disagree with your point about battle royale receiving less attention and care from Epic. Chapter 5 introduced so many new mechanics (wall climbing, weapon mods, flying, hurdling, medallions, etc), brought a new biome with unique pois every single season (while still keeping around the biomes introduced in prior seasons, which is one of my biggest problems with the chapter 2 map), added super interesting and fun items every season (wings of icarus, chains of hades, the harpoon, the chainsaw, etc), gave us the best halloween event we've ever had imo, had a mid season mini event almost every season with unique items and a mini-pass (tmnt, avatar, pirates of the carribean), brought back live events after we didn't get any in chapter 4 & actually had some interesting lore with characters that got voicelines and stayed around for more than a season. To each their own, of course, but chapter 5 was the most fun I've had with the game since chapter 1. I genuinely loved it. Edit: Just in case you are unaware: the 'metaverse' modes are all mostly developed by different teams, that didn't work for epic games before. rocket racing was done by psyonix, festival was done by harmonix & lego was done by lego. I genuinely do not believe there are less resources being put into battle royale than there were before.
I'm a newer fan, jump in to play as naruto with, and it was so fun to websling and driving tanks. We dropped off for a bit and came back full force when they added augments and hammers. We love fortnite when it's crazy so we fell of when chapter 5 gimmick was weapon mods that would make the random loot worse
I hated chapter 4. I hated the loot pool, graphics, battle pass, story, all of it. But after chapter 5 I'd give literally anything to go back to anything before the meta verse era. Hell, id go back to paradise if i could.
the separation of epics “metaverse” and fortnite would be a net good for everything, but wont happen. the reason they put it under the fortnite name is because everyone knows fortnite. they used the brand reputation to better their odds. but i feel now more then ever a separation would be good
“I subbed Great video by the way 👍” Couldn’t have said It better. I been say this for a while now Fortnite just doesn’t feel the same anymore I feels Corporate no creativity just a bleak barren wasteland of no creativity. I honestly believe that when Donald Mustard left Epic and subsequently Fortnite lost Its soul and even before that I could tell that It’s soul was slowly dying like the light just wasn’t there anymore. I’m having fun with Remix so far even If It’s not a one to one recreation of the chapter 2 map and It has colabs I’m still having fun at least It’s better than Chapter 5 I have some hope for Chapter 6 hopefully they fix their mistakes they made this Chapter but, I doubt It…
Well... I embrace change and I liked a lot that last chapter. The most fun I had with friends was really Season 3 with those crazy cars and less shooting, nothing like "old fortnite". I that's what I look for the future of the game, new mechanics so fun and crazy that not only "old fortnite" shines. Although I still think that those that want just construction and shooting should have a room for them, like disabling every crazy feature on Rankeds. In the end most people are happy, and those that wants the old fortnite in all their glory, waits for these "OG" or "Remix" seasons. Nothing pleases everyone :P

@xyz5691 the only last remnants is Save the world's graphics.
I've been playing since chapter 1 season 2 and I still play but if chapter 6 is a flop its gonna be the downfall of fortnite
I agree it’s way different and the graphics the feeling of the game and the mentality I have while playing is way different to when I played in Chap1 S6 I was like 12 back then I wanna go back I loved it back then now it’s “Fortnite Chapter insert number” Not Fortnite 🥲
@@xyz5691the Fortnite your talking about died a long time ago
I intended to share that Epic games are in fact NOT afraid to trample over what they've created, if it means they get to make more money of course.
idk why but "The Fortnite" is one of the funniest phrases I've heard all week
save the world is "finished" story wise.
4 seasons lmao the maps now are so shit that I don't mind it anymore.
@@XPGrindDeathking Well if Chapter 3 was given 8 like chapter 2 and they didnt shit on the map with the chrome we would've been good i think.

Either way, I quit a couple seasons ago.
Stared in Chap 1 S2 and I just Cnt with game anymore, tbh they throw too much crap into the game, it’s disappointing imo.

I agree with the sentiment that people think that it's a IP collab cash grab, but I also appreciate all the new updates and things to do
BRO. Your crashouts are SO valid 😭

After Donald Mustard retired that's when the game really fell off imo
It really hasn’t been the same. I wish they would consider his original thought process when working on battle royale more in the present day.
13:31 this isn’t necessarily true. The new gamemodes have seperate teams to work on them, so the amount of effort being put into making these new games does not affect Battle Royale’s development. It might’ve affected it during Chapter 4 last year, but it certainly doesn’t now.
Yes it does
Also, your source is trust me, bro
@@AnythingLoungesaying this yet your entire argument is "yes it does"
Yes it does, I can almost guarantee you that Epic moved Battle Royale employees to work on the new game modes. They did big layoffs around the timeframe of the new game modes last year so I don't think they hired more people. Another thing is they're also allocating money and resources into those modes that could of gone into Battle Royale instead.

@@HarryKaberryI don’t even remember the difference between the chapter 5 seasons maybe that’s because there wasn’t any events but I wouldn’t know because I wasn’t there
i remmember it a bit
main issue that i have is that for every season there is a colab, that colab has an associated item, the marketing team obviously wants the weapon to be stronger than an average weapon
therefore the weapon 90% of the time is some overpowered weapon that is usually a splash/simple weapon that becomes the meta that will break builds and deal insane damage.
im a good builder but the meta of making a box and holding is is so boring, i miss gas grenades that i can throw as an aria denial, the handcannon/ heavy sniper, tools that take skill not just pressing a button to win
in addition the rarity of weapons has been drastically diluted, remember in the first couple seasons, if you had 3 of your weapons being purple or gold between your duo by top 10 you were loaded
it feels since chapter 3 if you dont have atleast 2 gold weapons personally by top 25 your broke.
They ruined it.
The reason because there are less effort in BR is because they lay off a 16% of their talent, because OG showed them that low effort content could work as well or better than polished one and because battle royale genre is dying in the videogames industry.
i just miss the simplicity of it all back when it had its own identity it’s just too much nowadays.

I literally got goosebumps when I watched the chapter 2 start trailer in the beginning
Y’know harry it’s crazy how Fortnite took the internet by storm but because of corporate greed and stagnation is slowly started to fade and it’s relevance started dwindling. I remember playing chapter 1 and 2 and being so excited because it was so damn fun to play.

0:11 its funny how Chapter 5 is supposed to be Similar to Chapter 2 and i had the same exhaustion that i had during the end of chapter 2, lets hope the next chapter feels refreshing like how Chapter 3 felt
AND beginning of Chapter 2.
Oh my god you're a goated youtuber man
3:10 What I find wild is that, they have yet to release an Eminem song into the game since this ad
Wait that’s wild💀💀
If i ever hear anyone say "oh this gaming community complains alot more then that one" I'm showing them this video about how whiny fortnite's community is.
7:21 yo bro can you tell me what music is playing in the background here? It has that donkey Kong country sound that I love so It’d be really nice to know!
My Funky Town by Toby Fox!!
ruclips.net/video/RdHmfQkSWak/видео.html Enjoy:))
Truly if any of us would have known what was to come we woulda all been singing it's praises.
this guy deserves more subs. i just wish epic cared about their community
I appreciate that:))
Everything is too real on Fortnite now, I miss the cartoony graphics
Yea true
I love that the stupid side modes they added are failing
You thought the big bang event going into chapter 5 was like a big ol ad? Well, brother, I'm from the future... I have some bad news about the ch2 remix event... 😅😆
Also yeah, the pngs on those trailers! Like what?! it was just key art pngs not even in the same poses! 😆 looking foward to ch6 though.
Great video with some good commentary! 😎👍🏻 The Mario Galaxy music really hit me hard at the end.
@@optiTHOMAS I had no idea what I was in for😭💀 Thank you so much homie
Chapter 5 season 3 was so bad that the only reason I downloaded the game data for it was because I was going to buy the levels for the power armor
Beautiful vid
@@mrbear8654 I appreciate you homie❤️
i was your 800th subscriber remember me when your famous
put anyone whos ever actually played fortnite as the creative director for one chapter and it'll be the best anyone's ever played
I picked the worst time to start playing this game huh
TELL me what the ending song of this video is, the piano arrangement. Is it a Mario song? Why can't I remember. You gotta tell me
Haha nice memory:) It’s “Family” from Super Mario Galaxy! One of my favs:)

We lost the game, gone, reduced to atoms.
It seems that epic did not learn from the Big Bang because they literally did that but somehow worse for the new event a few days badk
the separation of epics “metaverse” and fortnite would be a net good for everything, but wont happen. the reason they put it under the fortnite name is because everyone knows fortnite. they used the brand reputation to better their odds. but i feel now more then ever a separation would be good
“I subbed Great video by the way 👍” Couldn’t have said It better. I’m having fun with Remix so far even If It’s not a one to one recreation of the chapter 2 map and It has colabs I’m still having fun at least It’s better than Chapter 5 I have some hope for Chapter 6 hopefully they fix their mistakes they made this Chapter but, I doubt It…
They killed the Hut Watch series by playstationgrenade 😭
