I picked up a rando KV-32FS210 Trinitron off of the street and even using Composite on the Snes, the picture is freakin beautiful. It is so clear compared to any other TV's I owned in the past when I was growing up. I want to get a component for Snes but the cables are so expensive. Can't even find an SD2Snes or good Everdrive that emulates all games and does not cost a fortune.

I was looking up the successor to the SD2Snes Pro to emulate like 99% of games, I think its the FX Pak Pro, but that dang thing is nearly $300 and is sold out too! I still have a Super UFO Pro 7 or something from like 2002 when I purchased it online for $90 from a shady website (and it miraculously showed up in the mail), but it has no usb ports and takes hard floppy disks for rom transfer lol
I've been thinking about doing a video on the PS2. I think it's got an undeserved reputation in the retro gaming scene. Recently a soft mod was developed to play ps1 CDRs. Have you tried it out?
@@riggel8804 oh yeah. I acquired a phat ps2 to go along with my original slim, so I've done both the smb and hdd route. I use a powered usb to sata cable to connect to my pc. Don't have a ide to sata adapter yet for the og adapter so idk that process yet. If you need program recommendations I can give them. I use a version of this one script that let's me put ps2 isos in it's folder, And then it copies them over. That modded script let's me add over multiple copies of the same game, so I can have the normal version of Rez or Ibara, and then the deinterlaced 240p patched versions. Then I have to use a program like hdl dumper helper gui if I want to erase games, or have a list. With the ps1, i use pfsshell to move my popstarter vcd game files over. The hardest part about those is knowing where to put the files for POPS hdd loading but isn't that bad. *edit* Forgot to say this but ive used mechapwn on my slim. Works great for loading burnt ps1 games. I burn the .cue file, stick it in my slim ps2. And it works. If it doesn't boot I just reboot and try again. Didnt work with my pack of old cd-rs but I get full speed eith these verbatim discs. It might be for the other systems by now too hopefully. I haven't played too much 240p emus on the ps2 but I was able to have a blast with m.u.s.h.a in the genesis emu.
@@robbyjvc You got Ibara working in 240p. I would love to do this. Beautiful game. I spent hours trying to get forced 240p working on the PS2 but I gave up. I was using an old version of FreeMcboot that lets you force resolutions. It worked but games would be cropped really weird and the 240p just didn't look right. I gave up. I am not interested in using popstarter because it uses an emulator.I might as well play PS1 games on my crtemudriver setup. However, recently, Bob from Retro RGB demonstrated a way to play ps1 CDRs natively on the ps2 without using the POPS emulator. I haven't tried it out yet. I use a fat ps2 as well with an external HD.

Batcher specifically is the modded version of hdl hdd batch but ignores file names and names it whatever the iso is named. This won't get rid of the bilinear filtering but imo it's not that bad. Music sounds a lot better than it sounds in the mame core. Yeah but then again pops was developed by Sony. ;) I'm the same way though. Once I got my pc hooked up I've been using that. Whenever I want a portable set up though a ps2 works really well.
I bought a sony pvm 1942q for $150 a couple weeks ago and I love it, but these wegas are waaaay easier to find and have like 80% of the sharpness of 600 tvl pvms and have a larger screen size. The only thing that sucks about them is the geometry and corner convergence.
I might pick one of these up. Maybe throwing it in the garage for fun. Agree with you on all these grids, I’m sure my PVM is all off, but it’s good enough. Most of us played games on slightly off geometry no one cared all that much.
Yeah, as kids, we all played on CRTs that probably had visual flaws like misconvergence, bowing, and we never noticed nor cared. I never knew these flaws were even there, just enjoyed playing the games. It’s only as middle aged adults that all of a sudden the flaws are there and stand out.
Nice set! Is this pretty comparable to the 32-FV27? Other than the screen size difference of course. Only ever had a curved Sony Trinitron crt, which makes me very interested in the flat screen models.

That picture looks amazing. I have a question though. In America it seems these 36 inch 4:3 CRTs are everywhere. So many videos on RUclips of these sets. But you do not find them here in the UK at all, it's all crappy widescreen. How the hell do you move them? You always see Vids of people showing them off but you never see Vids of them moving the TVs 😁 I have 2 large 29 inch arcade monitors and they are difficult to lift with the frames to hold on to. Let alone the handle-less casings these Sonys have.
You can see a black Mitsubishi in the beginning of this video. It weighs 275 lbs. It is a problem to move it. I have a rolling cart that I glued carpet to the top of. You can see it in the beginning of the video with the 36fv26 on it. That is really all you need. That and one other person to help you lift them. You have to make sure you do not set them on the ground. As long as you are sliding them off furniture onto a cart at waist high it's not a big deal. Getting a 275 lbs tv off the ground is another story. 27 inch sonys are no problem. One man lift off the ground, whatever. Most Shadow mask tubes are one man lift as well, up to 32 inches. 32 inch Sonys and 36 inch shadow mask tubes are where you start getting into the big bois. And yes. 36 inch Sony Tvs where freakin everywhere 2 years ago. On craigslist, the curb, thrift store, everywhere. They are much harder to find now.
how do you manage to record the crt screen so well¿¿ every time I focus weird patterns apear in the screen , like weird colored curves.. I thik it´s caused by thos tiny RBG "pixels" in the crt screen
Have you ever noticed any Optical imperfections in any flat screen Sony on mine there's this spot on the screen that makes certain colors brighter in that one spot especially White

Hi I have 2 sony triniton tv and pasanoic the big ass , so I am not sure if these are the best tv for my old consoles the playstation 1&2 and nes sega snes etc !!!! One of my sony triniton tv has only the button of VHF /UHF , so it is kind hard to plug it to my console unless there is extra cable in between!!! Any idea if these 3 tvs are the best option in terms of having perfect picture of gaming !
There actually is a Wega 1 model. It is the first one. I would like to get my hands on one. They look more like an XBR200 than a Wega. They are grey and more square looking.
Oh yeah. The vast majority of 27 inch and larger crts have some convergence issues in the corners. I sugest learning to live with it or look for a 14 inch tube.
I had a 300 but I broke it fidling with it. Kinda a bummer because I think I could have fixed it now. Oh well. Part of the learning process. I've ran across 3 310s in the last year or two but they cost 200 bucks and I like picking these up cheap. It's part of the fun... I guess I'm kinda a collector. Wegas have gotten harder to find in the last year. I might not ever get my hands on a 310 at this point but rest assured if I do I will definitely do a video on one... Maybe I should advertise to borrow one in my are to do a review. I'm sure someone has one.

I've got reviews ont he fv 12 and fv15. Can't remember if they got tilt correct or vm on/off. I doubt my fv12 has tilt correct. It's a 27 inch and I only see tilt correct on 32 inch and up.
I've got a review of the fs12 on my channel the fv 16 is going to be closer to that model. At the end of the day there is not much of a difference between any of the Wega models. There is more variation within model numbers than between models.
I've really been enjoying this channel lately, I love looking at other people's CRTs since according to my wife we are at maximum tube TV occupancy.

The larger flat screen sonys with component are the best crts ever made imo.

I don't know. You could try doing a white balance calibration or if your really adventurous you could try doing a rejuve on the tube.
