  • Our 2023 project truck didn't stay stock for long! After realizing the new 23+ Ford Super Duty platform received changes to the radius arms and sway bar for added tire clearance, we got inspired to build the ultimate work truck, with a Carli Suspension Pintop level, and 37" Nitto Ridge Grapplers on the stock wheels. This isn't a setup that would have worked without wheel spacers previously, but now it's possible to clear a 37/12.5 tire with ZERO rubbing and no trimming!
    This build is the perfect OEM+ setup with massively improved ride and handling, factory payload and towing, and a classy yet still aggressive look. If the bubba truck look is your thing, this is your setup!

    Love an OEM+ look. Got a 22 Ram 2500 mega cab and did the carli level kit with fox shocks, and 35 inch toyos on the stock wheels with 1.5 inch hub centric spacers and I love it. I think it looks way better than my friends with aftermarket wheels and/or bigger lift kits. At 45/40 psi the ride is a night and day difference compared to stock. I work at a CJDR dealership and see a lot of custom trucks and imo an oem+ look is hard to beat

It’s hard to decide which way to go on a build when there isn’t any out there yet. This is a great for all of us with a new 23’. And the bed steps and bumper steps are great! I’m 5’7” and they are great for working out of the truck. I had a GMC 2500 work truck and the bumper steps were very useful. I’m glad Ford added these! Any idea on a Tremor valance? My dealer sold me one, but it turned out to be a 20’-22’. I returned it and they couldn’t fine one for a 23’.

    I want a great ride on road so my family doesn’t hate the harshness. Question are this (1) Which Carli lift gives the best ride for the least amount of money. Is there a company that has anything close to the Carli lifts but costs a lot less? (3) what mud terrains give the best ride, sound levels and longevity. (4) what are the best AT tires that will see a lot of snow and clay mud like you find in Ohio, NY, etc.

    Can you guys help me, please. I installed a carli backcountry lift on my 2023 f250, some warning lights are coming on now.Who is responsible for resetting my sensors? The people who did my install told me to take it to a ford dealership. Another thing, I put fuel vapor offroad wheels and the rear caps won't fit, the hub won't let it happen. Is there a fix for that?

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  9 месяцев назад +1

      If the install went correctly, there should be no warning lights, so you'll want to work with your installer to figure out why and what's going on. As for the rear caps, you'll want to reach out to Fuel for deeper caps to fit the larger axles on the new Super Duty trucks.

  • @MrChadx1

    @CJCOffroad Love this. I plan on doing a pintop on a SuperDuty F250 when I get around to buying next year. Do you have a system that is not "leveled"? I want the full rake so when I have a load, the rear isn't lower. Half the year, I run a slide-in pop-up pickup camper (1600lb dry/2000lb wet plus add in camping and recovery gear) and would do Deaver full leaf pack to get rid of the leaf spring blocks and get full suspension travel. Might I need a custom leaf pack to get the lift I want (and sprung to take the camper all summer but not shake me to pieces running empty all winter)? Alternatively, do you have a front spring that is only 1" lift to match the 1" rear lift to keep the rake (but still provide better than stock ride and longer suspension travel up front)?
    Also curious if you can show this truck and lift with 35"? I'm torn between the 37" and 35" tires. Would prefer the 37" for trail/offroad driving with the camper on, but am concerned about increased component wear and tear and the even bigger mileage drop compared to 35" tires. Plus, in the winter time, I like to run dedicated snow tires and 34.5 - 35" is the largest diameter those tend to run, hence why I'm considering only a 1" lift all the way around if a 2" looks odd with only 35" tires. Images of this truck with 35" would be a great help. If it doesn't look odd, then a 2" lift would give me the better offroad performance and 35" a happy medium on tire size and more tire choices. Thanks!

    Hello Cody,
    I have a '23 XLT with snow plow & camper prep package with the sport appearance package & XLT ultimate package. I tried putting 37x13.50R17E on Black Rhino Warlords 17x9 8x170 -12 matte black with dark tint rim. Did a test run thought it only needed a little trim on that plastic molding on the bottom inside of the fender. Realized it requires some aluminum trimming which I'm hesitant to do & still make it look good. I'm thinking same rim in a +12 will resolve that problem. Can you confirm. Measuring from the ground to the center of each wheel well gives me 41.5 to .75" in the front & about 43" in the rear. Thanks for your input.

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Год назад

      One more question how little is little, when you speak of trimming, as the first time my tire man tried on one tire we did the passenger side, he said it would be the same on the the driver's side, though I had vaguely remember that for whatever reason the driver side is a hair tighter on a left turn. He didn't have me turn it past the plastic molding & then back. I really want to totally exhaust the potential of 37's without much trimming on the plastic molding pieces. I'd like to keep them for that neat tie in of the wheel well liner & fender. Even on the -12 offset if you didn't mind say a 15° angle cut off the 90° of the aluminum and maybe have to loose that plastic piece as you'd likely one get one screw in it on the outer fender piece, but I couldn't get my head around that. I want something that gives that "protection" & helps it look factory finished, & not jury-rigged. I'd a good job trying of the excess plastic that allowed both screws to be used & that's what I'd like to be able to maintain.

    • @markcall6799
      @markcall6799 Год назад

      I’m very aware that it is a leveling kit as I have a 2022 F350 Platinum that I installed a Carli Commuter leveling kit on. I know from my experience that this kit raises the front end 3.5” which makes it higher than the rear so I had to replace the factory 2” rear spring block with a factory 3” rear spring block like what was used on the 17-19 model trucks, and which is the same 3” block that is used on the Tremor model trucks. This is why I asked this question to CJC Offroad so they can tell me if they used a different block, as I’m sure they had to, and which one they used.

    With the exception of this truck (so he says), all the other 2023 super duty’s are experiencing some rub with the 37 x 12.50 x 18 tires on stock rims that are on RUclips, and they are leveled as well. Why ? 🤔

    • @CJCOffRoad
      @CJCOffRoad  Год назад +1

      We've done multiple of these and have had multiple of our partner shops do them as well with no rub issues on 37/12.5 tires on the stock wheels. You have to be smart about what tire you use though. For example, and Toyo MT runs over the stated size. A Falken or BFG runs under. There's a lot of variance so it takes a little know how to pick a combo that works.

      We're using ForScan to shut that system off and removing the sensors as the readings are not accurate once you alter spring rates with new rear leaf packs. That said, there will likely be a solution to retain them coming, it's just that these trucks are so new we're still working on it! Sadly the load level Limited and Platinums are just trickling out from the factory, so it's been hard to get ahead of the curve on R&D.

    Just wish Ford would stop using light grey pillars and headliner in the lariat. A $90k truck should have matching coordinating materials. If in order the lariat with the tan leather inserts, ford install the black headliner.
    With the massive union pay increases and management costs.. with EV losses I expect Fords president (another Harvard elitist) continue to reduce options for buyers, restrict production and collude with the competition to keep prices high and above the rate of inflation.

    Has anyone towed a fifth wheel with 37’s? This transforms the SD from lawn mower guy truck to 🔥

      It's no big deal. These trucks have a very smart 10 speed transmission that's pretty much always in the right gear regardless.

    Don't the springs lift it 3.5in front? I have the same truck and I am seeing 2.5in rake between front to back.
