If you never heard of the movie was for a very simple reason: It isn't an american production. It was actually from Spain.
Fantastic Factory was a very curious experiment on Spain back on the early 2000s, when Filmax (One of the main distributors/producers in Spain) wanted to expand its market of Horror Movies, making our own movies.
I have 3 of the 9 films: Faust, Dagon (Which is a weird adaptation of "The Shadow over Innsmouth" with a pinch of "Dagon"), and Rottweiller (A Sci-Fi/Action adaptation of a spanish 70s book about a prisoner who is being chased by a Rottweiller whose last order of his owner was to hunt and kill the prisoner).

M: I know something that could have gotten you out of this situation...
    Faust: What was that?
M: not making a deal with me
Faust: you’re right but I don’t have to be happy about it
    M: that’s fair

I love this movie, as I love every flick Yuzna was involved with, which btw, you forgot to mention Dagon, for which he was the/a producer if I remember correctly, and not only is one of the best adaptation ever done of a Lovecraft tale, even though weirdly enough, Dagon is not the adapted tale but Shadow over Innsmouth is, but it is a great little horror flick with fantastic practical effects.
Anyway, I was pretty sure you already Faust, so is it my memory being a bit scrambled? Is it you doing things twice? 😅 Or are we witnessing your own first Mandela effect? The plot thickens..

I love Brian Yuzna. His films are always entertaining and bizarre in all the right ways. I agree that Dagon is one of the best H. P. Lovecraft film adaptations out there. That is one I go back and watch again quite often. Society is another. I love showing that one to unsuspecting viewers. lol

I really want someone to make a movie where the Devil/Satan/whatever stand-in for it is rightfully depicted as the good guy after offering someone a deal that they explicitly stated the consequences to without hiding anything, and the person trying to weasel their way out of it despite having full knowledge of what they agreed to is the villain.

I wonder if Yuzna would be interested in my script. It’s written with Jeffrey Combs in mind, playing a hard boiled bachelor who follows his puppy around with a roll of paper towels cleaning up all the messes the pup makes.

Glad to see your thoughts on this! I was a fan of the comics before this movie came out and was excited when it was released. Wish it had been a few notches better but there’s some great performances and effects. That line and shot you used in the stinger is directly from the comics.
And yeah, it pales in comparison to the gore and violence in the comics. I follow the artist on IG but he can’t post much without getting flagged.
