Damn, 200+ episodes and I've never done an Andy Sidaris movie? I better fix that quick!
Just been binging your old videos. Keep up the good work
I love you senpai-ness Brandon!
So what's the deal with like 90% of your shirts having three little metal studs on the left shoulder?
Hey Brandon how are you doing with the Corona virus outbreak?
GUNS is another one he's done, and it's just as corny with lots of T&A! Lol
Andy Sidaris movies are everything a 12 year old boy would want in a movie: spies, gadgets, explosions, and attractive women not afraid to get naked for little or no reason. Clearly I've never progressed past that point mentally!
Thanks Cinamax, for staring my porn addiction.
You can say that again and really couldn't do these in our times since now it's advanced Internet, smartphones and everything went PC. Those films were made in a time before things went PC.
rcdwhiteley 1 I don't think Andy Sidaris mentally progressed past 12 either. And made a career of it to boot.
That's also another possible scenario since you can never get away with this or any of his films if they were made today.
and it has b0000bies
and ninjas
You know what would be interesting? A movie where a guy declares he's on the last hour of the last day before retirement, and he's the only survivor by the end of the movie
I think that happens in Falling Down and Cellular. It's like their last day. Seven might even count.
I'd watch that.
But then it wouldn’t be “retirony”
So, you probably mean a short-film... With just 60 minutes !!! Or isn´t him surviving everybody alse, not even the peak of the dramatourgy??? Is there instead, additional 30 minutes, where the old hawaiian cop turns into the movie´ only protagonist ????
Watch Falling Down... that is very much that movie.
Huh - Goodbadflicks also just posted this. Obviously this means the universe is willing everyone to watch this! :)
I literally just watched that review right before this.
@@geraldbrooks2763 B movie inception type ex machina reboot cannon. If I miss any other buzzwords, let me know.
I know right?
@@geraldbrooks2763 Same here :)
Also the two reviews both complement each other with them going with different jokes. Nicely done!
It IS a "blow-up" doll, after all...
excellent
Nice
Mid air kill was cool, blow up doll was comical, blowing up the snake became a running gag. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
"You practically raped me last night."
"That was last night, sweetheart, this is today."
Awesomely inappropriate and probably more accurate than we want to know.
Andy Sidaris was actually famous for having been a pretty decent guy on that front. His movies were a family business, every actress that worked with him only had good things to say about the guy, and Sidaris' wife was a major collaborator. For once reality is kinder than fiction.
Ok, someone needs to make “Cocaine Palpatine” a thing. Band name, song title, whatever.
*Manic Pixie Fangirl * it’s how they made the decision to bring him back for 9
"This guy's name is Chang, and he's called that because he's half-Chinese, half 100% white." I can't stop laughing at that riff.
Sound like Chen to me, as a native Taiwanese.
“That’s snake has been infected by the deadly toxins of cancerous rats”
😂😂
He was Ad-libing you could tell by the stutter lmao
Your expression after the rocket launcher scene had me laughing for 5 minutes 😂
5:20 it was really nice of Andy Sidaris to show the audition tapes for this movie in the actual movie. Not a lot of directors do that.
10:23 in, THE BEST PART OF THIS VIDEO. That reaction in gold!!
dude i saw that on tv when i was a kid and i couldnt help from laughing so hard at it...luckily my uncle and aunt has the same sense of humor lol
I really think the director/writer is taking the piss out of 80's Hollywood. This movie is so fucking over the top awesome and downright hilarious.
I saw this about 25 years ago during one of those "free Showtime weekend" events, and completely forgot it existed. Thanks for reminding me!
Coincidence? GoodBadFlicks and Brandon Tenold both put out "Hard Ticket to Hawaii" videos about an hour apart...
No complaints. Love seeing different takes.
I am guessing you won't see this Brandon, but just in case you do. I love your show and recently showed it to my wife and she has been laughing so very much. With everything going on lately, it is a breath of fresh air to hear her laugh like that and I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I'd always wondered what flick the "launched-skateboarder bazooka-death" scene came from, and now I know. Thanks!
10:30 Should have said "That blow up doll was just 2 weeks from retirement.'"
Wow. I literally just finished watching the Good Bad Flicks review of this movie.
Same here!
Yup me too
Same
Me also!
Ditto.
OMG i so remember this flic... I was in the Marine Corp and saw this on video wile floating in the Mediterranean. We were actually rooting for the snake, we named it Jeff.
Why Jeff?
@@jeffreyskoritowski4114 I have no Idea, this was 1987 i think? It was just the name some one threw out and it stuck. But man did we laugh.
That's how the best nicknames happen.
Must have some great stuff there in the Mediterranean 😉
(semi- kidding..as a Marine you probably gotta stick to drinking but personally I feel whatever happens in your off hours is your business... Thanks for your service ❤)
Fun fact. The actor playing Chang didn't use a stuntman. He actually jumped out the window for agreeing to be in this turd.
That bazooka scene is so stupidly awesome that it's worth the price of the movie collection all by itself.
My local arthouse theater had a screening of this last year! The place was packed and everyone, both guys and gals, had an absolute blast with it! Think I may have also heard someone make the same Tommy Wiseau joke! Truly, an epic masterpiece of 80s cheese and sleaze! 😁
I don't know why they had to kill the guy at 10:17
I mean, did you check those sweet 1980s skateboarding moves? Those are some radical tricks!
They had to kill him so that they could use the rocket launcher on him as he flew up in the air from the impact with the jeep.
…. Or because he was shooting at them?
those skate tricks were from the 70s the guy was a little behind on what was happening in skating at that time but he did have some really cool vans on.
Alas, poor Skater. We hardly knew ye.
@@bootleggodzilla1 The real irony is that the guy doing the skate board stunts is a 70s skater legend that held the world record for longest hand stand on a board, most free standing spins, and some other thing for like 30 years and now, in his 80s, still goes to skate events.
15:27 “Next time he’s gonna kill someone using a hacky-sack grenade.”
Nah, pretty sure the next would be either a softball mace or roller-skate buzzsaws.
Watching your reviews has given me a better appreciation for these types of movies. Thank you for this 😃
you know snakes with the ability to transmit cancer would have improved Snakes on a Plane
Two RUclipsrs do a review on the same movie on the same day. nice
@asian dude good bad flick and Brandon Tenold
Man, thanks to you Brandon, I've got an ever growing list of shit my friends and I haven't seen. You've helped turn lots of my off time into super enjoyable Mystery B-movie theater 3000. I appreciate ya man, hope all is well on your side of the border. Excellent work as always
Andy Sidaris films were a perfect fit for the golden age of the video rental store. The covers were bright and colorful, they had beautiful women on the covers and they delivered on all their promises
And you could watch them alone at home without making eye contact with other people.
Brandon, you've made a lot of good videos, but I think this is one of your best.
I'm from Shreveport, Louisiana, where Sidaris is from and where he made some of his films. A friend of mine was a boat dealer, and scored a cameo in Return to Savage Beach by loaning Sidaris some boats to use for the film.
-“How’s Brandon’s movie collection.
-“He’s got four copies of Waxwork and Waxwork 2
-Four copies that’s not so hot?!
Spending my lockdown finding the movie's you have reviewed and watching them so thanks for giving me something to do.
Good thing he flew in slow motion long enough for that guy to open the case and get that shot off! ;)
Brandon's Cult Movie Reviews + Good Bad Flicks = Shared Universe...?
Poor Ron Moss. He goes from singing in a group called "Player", to playing in a soap opera, to playing a DEA agent who's also a player. I wonder what actual DEA agents have to say if they've been forced to sit through this.
They'd probably say that it could use more tits.
my mom watches young and the restless and i remember thinking "i swore i saw him as a agent or something in a movie where a skater floated in the air and was blown up by a missle laucher" lol
My Ex is a DEA Agent in South Florida.
He'll tell you - like Sonny Crockett - unless these guys came from family money there's no yachts or Ferraris or expensive rocket launchers or fancy house boats with pet alligators.
You use your own car whatever it is in stake outs and undercover work and you get gas mileage.
The ladies with the plane and the hot tub might be a little more believable since they can somehow deliver extremely large crates AND two adult humans in that private plane with TARDIS like storage from one island to the other.
Something I've never heard a reviewer mention about it.
The death frisbee and victory fist pump kills me everytime I see it.
Goodbadflicks did this same movie today, NICE!!!!
and made the same Weinstein joke.
Brandon is back, the coronavirus has a silver lining. Brandon, you are my favorite reviewer!
"So is Hard Ticket to Hawaii any good?"
No, it's great.
No as in "it's not good" and great as in "Great googly moogly".
"This guys name is Chang and he is called that cause he is half chinese, half 100% white" 😂
This is my 2nd favorite Andy Sidaris movie. "The Dallas Erect...", errr, I mean "The Dallas Connection" is by far his most over the top movie ever. Any movie with Julie Strain and the udderly (sic) fantastic Julie K. Smith will be, by definition, over the top! Plus Sidaris blew his budget on location shoots in South Africa (or possibly that was just stock footage of rhinos, lions and water buffalo), more killer, remote-controlled toys, guns of all shapes and sizes, and fabulous, expensive sports cars from either borrowed from Hollywood friends or leased from some rental agency. Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" movie characters were heavily influenced by the female agent/assassins with code-names like Black Widow, Scorpion and Cobra. Julie K. Smith (aka CoBRA) should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress in 1994,..or maybe her brassieres should have been nominated for Best Supporting of an Actress. You gotta review this one Mr. Tenold!
PS. Julie K. Smith burst upon the scene in 1987's "Pretty Smart" starring Patricia Arquette and Tricia Leigh Fisher (Carry Fisher's half-sister by her father Eddie and her step-mom Connie Stevens). Ubiquitous 1970s-80s B-movie/TV star Dennis Cole plays the slimy heavy. Another co-star by the name of Lisa Lörient never made another movie, but she actually out performed Julie K. Smith if you can believe that! "Pretty Smart" would also be another cinematic classic you might want to check out.
How awesome is it that 2 of my favorite channels just popped out reviews on a movie i used to love!?!
17:31 those are some nice leggings she's wearing...
The best thing about the 80s was the spandex and the leggings imo.
Thanks for pointing it out.
:)
yes thank you
AWESOME!!! Please do the rest of the Andy Sidaris "Lethal Ladies" movies...
“ I dunno, Kevin Hart.” Brilliant!
Nice since I’m stuck out home cause of the lockdown...
Stay safe Brandon!
"He could have put another B word in there"
Me: Bagina???
Boners, maybe?
Butts?
Bush?
We all know what's the good answer! "B00BI3S"!
@@alexandreturcotte6411 Yep, _Bewbs_
OH, I REMEMBER THIS ONE!!
I saw a clip of this movie on WatchMojo yeeeaaars ago and I was laughing my ass off on the skateboarder death lol. 🤣
Brandon Tenold this is an awesome review, I was wondering if you can do the 4 Watchers Films that were based off of Dean Koontz's book Watchers from 1987.
What third RUclipsr should review this movie on the same day?
4:01 GGGAAAAAAHHHHH, I just got that song out of my head from the GBorBB review!
I remember discovering this Gem on late night TV, I saw Ronn Moss because I recognized him from the bold and the beautiful, this is an amazingly fun movie!
Dude, what the hell? I already saw this film GBF this morning!
Do the werewolf woman in 1976, the island of Dr Moreau and Super gator next
@Brandon Tenold Man, I just discovered your channel, and your commentary has me rolling. I'm dying of laughter here!!!
I was in the middle of binge watching a bunch of your old vids and this pops up in the notifications.... awesomeness
Two videos on hard ticket to Hawaii in 1 day! Let's see how you handle the scene with Jimmy John?
Whoa GoodBadFlicks just posted a video talking about this movie. What timing
Holy smokes, blowing up a snake with a rocket launcher after it explodes out of the toilet! AWESOME!
The Rocket Launcher, vs. Blow up doll scene never gets old!! Lmao! 😂😅😊
The director and provider of this movie are my heroes. Forever! Heroes...
They are good people.
All of the best dumbest parts of the 80s all in one movie. You had me at Bazooka shot to the sex doll.
"Mr. Chang, that's very stupid."
Can you look at Rock & Rule it's an animated movie from Canada🎸
Goddamn, that skateboarder/blow up double kill was movie masterwork. It reminds me of playing Saint's Row 3 and doing stupid tricks to entertain friends.
I thought Andy was David Sidaris's fun uncle
😂😂 i got this movie and three others from the big lots store 3 years ago
3:41 The shortest short shorts who ever shorted.
Alright, Sask-a-boy! About dang time!
This is my favorite of Sidaris's 3Bs movies. I used to watch this every time it came on the pay channels. I had huge crushes on Hope Marie Carlton and Cynthia Brimhall. :)
A Julie Brown and Toto/Dine reference.? Pure awesome
Been so looking forward to you reviewing this. This is one of the few movies you've reviewed I've actually seen... SEVERAL times! I first heard of Andy Sidaris via "FEMME FATALES" magazine. He was like the cheaper, Greek version of Cubby Broccoli. He once famously compared his films to the "007" movies, saying, "Our girls are prettier-- and they SHOW THEIR STUFF!" How can you not love that?
Most of the women in his films are actual PLAYBOY PLAYMATES, and there may be some PENTHOUSE PETS in later ones.
I rented his first 4 movies back in the 90s, so I've got uncut (but "fullscreen") copies on VHS. "STACEY", "SEVEN" (which starred William Smith), "MALIBU EXPRESS" and "HARD TICKET TO HAWAII". He got screwed over financially by his distributors for the first 2, and the 3rd film was actually a FUNNIER remake of the SAME story! I understand "SEVEN" was recently reissued on DVD, but "STACEY" may still be in limbo. I've always meant to get more, and now I understand most of his (starting with the 3rd film) are available in a single box-set. CAN'T WAIT!
The climax with the killer really did veer right into "HALLOWEEN" out of nowhere.
I was laughing hysterically when you ran the skateboard-bazooka death 6 TIMES.
You skipped over the FUNNIEST part of the movie: the "LIVE" tv interview with the football player. They asked how he ran this one play, and what he said was so OBSCENE, the interviewer feared his tv career was OVER! "No, it's okay, there's a 30-second delay..."
How ironic, Good Bad Flicks just did a video on the same movie that came out earlier today.
Dude...
I fucking love your channel. LMAO
5:13 At first I thought that chick just teleported out of the movie.
You had me at "good guy shoots bad guy in mid air with a rocket launcher".
I remember seeing this movie in the 80's, don't remember it being quite so fucked up.
Cocaine's a helluva drug.
Quite possibly the greatest movie ever made. The shoot down of the blow up doll in mid-air....priceless. 2 thumbs way the hell up.
I would have loved to see a full reaction on this movie
Awsome you just made this quarantine a lot better
So-o-o-o this was prequel snakes on a whatever form of transportation?😯😳
Sweet, finally here early. Gr8 to see a new vid mate
“Just when you thought it was safe to take a pee.” Should have been on the box cover for this movie.
I'm going to go screen cap your expression from that on scene. it is a thing of beauty.
Good bad flicks just posted there review of this too. It played right after your video and I was like "damn Brandon is changing his format!"
That guy is like a surgeon with that rocket launcher! Sure, almost anyone can blow up a chopper with a rocket, but it takes PRECISION to blow up a guy hit by a car, or a snake!
Louis Duarte Not only that, but he managed to blow up the snake's head without touching the rest of the body.
I'd love if Brandon reviewed *The Lost Platoon* , it's about vampire soldiers who've traveled the world since time unknown fighting in various wars with their most recent adventure having brought them to a conflict in Nicaragua where they have a run in to old acquaintances; one is a War Correspondent who was a soldier they saved in WW2 while the other is the mastermind behind said conflict who has mysterious connection to their leader.
This movie is awesome when you're 16 years old.
I remember seeing it on the late night movies on TV when I was younger. :)
I've heard Andy Sidaris' output described as the perfect movies for the Al Bundys of the world and I completely agree - I love this film, it's stupid as hell and it's not only aware of it, it revels in it without cynicism. Gloriously dumb fun.
13:48 As Softcore goes, in my experience in adult media, is in the chest or as Japanese offbrand call it, is paizuri. Though I do agree in the Tommy Wiseau was definitely in the belly button, as many softcore directors agree.
FINALLY! An Andy Sidaris movie! Looking forward to your follow up on the rest of his movies (just wrote the exact same comment on GodBad flicks LOL
lol I saw this on VHS back in the day, I remember the rocket snake scene
10:25 YES! That's the face the director wanted us to make!
@19:44 best samurai sword movie EVER!
10:26 Yeah that was pretty much my expression after you showed that scene.
as an 18 year old kid in 1986, this was a hilarious study break movie. it is so stupid and over the top, great brainless fun
You got me on this one. That sternum line🤣
The head bad guy is totally giving We Have Malcolm McDowell at Home vibes 😂
''I really,care about you,Charlotte.''
''You practically raped me last night....''
''That was last night Charlotte, this is today.''
The dialogue is on Shakespearian levels here, people!
Also, the main male protagonist is Ron Moss, the OG ''Ridge Forrester'' from ''The Bold & the Beautiful'',holy shit!
My granny used to watch that all the time.
