    Tokyo Gore Police is absolutely bonkers and it's awesome for it. There's a reason why Nishimura is called the 'Tom Savini of Japan.'

    • @michaelccozens
      @michaelccozens 2 года назад +4

      I can see the comparison, but there seems a difference in approach. Savini went for realism. This... doesn't seem to be doing that. Still cool; just different. Sorta "Day of the Dead" v. the Crazy 88 fight in "Kill Bill".

    Back as a kid working at Hollywood Video/Games Crazy an older gentleman who was a film buff and co-worker always had the best recommendations. He suggested I rent this film and Old boy on the same day. After that I would just tell him to pick out 3 movies for me to watch and ring them up for me at the end of my shift. I will always be grateful to him for being my early guide into the world of foreign cinema.

      @@Devilsblood I had already seen Ichi before I got that job, I was crazy about "Old Boy and the two other films in the Revenge Trilogy. As a comic book guy I later went on to read the manga, but I will always love the film. I personally would recommend anything comic (especially comics) or film by Alejandro Jodorowsky. The Holy Mountain is my all time favorite movie, and if you like Dune (old Dune and books or Syfy 2000 special) then the Metabaron comics are for you.

    12:27 "He injected himself with the DNA of various serial killers" as a serial killer expert I can say only one of those names listed were serial killers.
    Ed Gein only had 2 confirmed victims and to be a serial killer you need to kill at least 3 seperate occasions

    it's a lovely, entertaining movie that makes no apologies for it's content and yes, I agree is a tad long. The director is the low budget version of Stan Winston or Tom Savini and it's always nice to see a special effects artist transition to writing or directing films, even if the end product turns out to be a little silly. Remember trying to watch this with one of my best friends, didn't get past the wrist slitting scene in the police car before he asked to turn it off because he was feeling sick lol. 10 minute failure

    Hey Brandon. Have you ever thought about reviewing The Keep ? It's a sort of cult classic and stars a few well known actors in it and has a steller soundtrack.

    I'll never forget this movie. I saw it at midnight movie showing at the local artsy film venue we have here in Tulsa. You don't forget this when you sit in a theater with 30 to 40 other people as the penis monster comes out. Also the chair thing... and just all the things.

    Well! That was….unexpected. And yet somehow, it was exactly what I thought it would be, just WAY more extreme. I’m not nearly imaginative as these particular movie makers. Kudos to them for being so over the top! This film looks like tons of gory, weird, wild fun. I’ll have to check it out! Thanks for making us aware of this gem, Brandon. Your content is so very educational!🖤

    Was wondering when you'd get to this one. Without a doubt the funniest film I've seen in some time. The dick cannon was just the cherry on top of this bloody sunday. The guy with the swords for legs and arms reminded me of Metal Gear Solid mixed with Voldo from Soul Caliber.

    it was way too long though, I actually became bored by the end of it. if you want a real throwback, the gimp looks like the slayers from the suffering if anyone remembers that game.
