      Yes, even an in-person course I took can not keep up with this. Partially because I was completely new to photography, partially because video is a better medium to visualize pictures than photocopied handouts in b/w are, but surely because the lecture is well thought out and consistent in every detail.
      Maybe slowing down a bit while talking would make it even better: The passion to cram a lot of information in a short video is graspable, but we'll watch this if it's a minute longer.

      Right? Nice pace, concise and practical information for the beginner, but also great for filling in gaps (Ty: metering and histogram) for the intermediate student.

    I've spent three weeks in an in person photography class being confused. I wish I'd found these tutorials before I signed up as they've been a lot more helpful. The info in tutorials 2,3,4 have not been covered in class, and they contain aspects I've been wondering about for a long time, and which I feel are incredibly helpful before moving on to shutter speed and aperture control. Thank you very much! You seem to fit so much into these tutorials, you must have been thinking and planning them for a while before making them. What a lot of work has gone into them, with the end result being something so simple and easily understood. Amazing!

    • @ChrisBrayPhotography
      @ChrisBrayPhotography  9 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks! Thats great to hear! And yes you're right, each of these sections are pretty info-dense and refined as much as I could over about 7 years of teaching this same course in person, always tweaking and improving .... until I decided to stop doing them in person and just put it online for free! Was best move ever, now people from all over the world can see it and some still come on photo tours or buy my course booklet in support etc =)

I've always been at a loss whenever I heard the term "middle-grey" (thinking of grey as a color and never in terms of brightness or darkness) in any of the photography videos I've previously watched here but now that in this (above) video I learn that "middle-gray" means mid-brightness (middle point from the darkest to the brightest) it is all clear to me now and much easier to comprehend. Also, this video has contributed a lot to understanding how my camera processes exposure. Thank you.

    Great set of videos. Really love the presentation. It is technical enough but very practice-oriented and not too condensed. I like your approach where you coax your listener to actually try things instead of getting too focused on minor details. Truly inspiring.

    Have recently watched a few of your videos and I find them very good. Much I already know but I have learnt bits and pieces also, so keep up the good work...
