  • Jaylen Brown has torched the Pacers through 2 games of the ECF, and when he's playing like this the Celtics are nearly impossible to beat.

    Love the breakdown. He's been elite in transition for years, and at times it feels as if he never misses a contested shot 😂 the Cs get a bit too JB-centric offensively sometimes though, and I hope against (likely) the Mavs they have Tatum/other more reliable playmakers initiate and let Jaylen's offball game shine.

    @Mitch_Feral 22 дня назад +6

    I appreciate including all the potential assists - that's something Mazzulla hammers home to our media, bc sometimes the ball doesnt go in, but what's important is getting good looks. It's not a common talking point in basketball at large, yet. Brown's potential assists in this series have been ridiculously high, but White, Al, and Hauser have all been cold as ice from downtown for the most part.
    JB is running wild against Indiana, if Boston takes care of business, I'm excited for both potential match-ups - Brown cooks Luka whenever they play, and JB vs Ant has been consistently thrilling.

    One thing as a Celtics fan I especially love about JB’s game like you said is how much pressure he puts on his matchups off the catch. He’s so athletic that he’s tough to stay in front of without guessing his next move before he makes it, so if you either guess wrong or try to just react to him, you’re getting cooked.

    This Celtics team is tough, you double team Brown, and Tatum is cooking you, and vice-versa. Also, if White or Holiday are the open man, they're burying 3s all day. Tyrese Haliburton is so bad on defense it’s not even funny, a 6’6 guard should not be a defensive liability it should be a advantage when guarding other guards and etc, that’s the next step for him idc about the scoring aggression over playmaking conversation anymore. For him though I think defense improvement starts with footwork/technique and then more muscle so he can hold his own against strong players. That’s where I hope he has the right people around him telling him these things because him having defensive improvement would be a big for the team defense, and possibly more winning for the Pacers

    I have been saying since at least last year that the Celtics run better on offense when it’s Brown initiating the offense rather than Tatum. He may not be ask skilled overall but he is a better attacker and slasher, he kinda plays the style that LeBron did during his 2nd stint in Cleveland. Tatum has the demeanor of a 2nd option as well. If they don’t win this year I think they should consider trading Tatum for a top tier guard and depth.
