Honestly I just love that Gillian version, funnily enough the producers of the film found it too intense, and in April 1972 drafts of the screenplay this part of the song has a note telling Ted to sing it an octave down, less intense. I'm glad he didn't, because his version rocks too!

John Legend was such a terrible casting decision. Definitely doesn’t have the correct voice to play Jesus. Amazing performer, just not the role for him.
