You folks don't make things easy for this yank. For the longest time I really thought Utah was my favorite Retropower build. It's simply superb. Then along came the Morris. That little car just blew me away. I absolutely love it! It temporarily replaced Utah as my favorite. Now that Churchill is in paint, I find myself saying, "What Morris?" Between Stu's artistry in metalwork and that glorious blue color, it's going to be extremely hard to beat. It's already a true work of automotive art, and it's not even in the assembly shop yet. You've raised your own bar so high, I don't know how you think you're going to top it. I have a sneaking suspicion, however, that you're working on it as I type this.

30:58 The Norton is an early post WW2 ES2, a pushrod 500cc single, roughly 1947. I judge that particularly by the front fork sliders, which have the centre bridge stays for the mudguard vertically in line. After the first couple of years of telescopic forks, these bolts were across the slider, instead. Before anyone says it's a Model 18, the cheaper model was always rigid rear, not plunger suspension as on this bike.
    Nice machine.

Glad to see that you have come up into the light! This has always been a good show to watch- huge skills, lots of vision and a dogged passion for "make it right"; Retropower has found the way to fuse personality and art- the cars speak for you all. Btw, the new camera work and the ever closer he can get without disturbing your ongoing projects is intense- Tom welding up the Jensen exhaust was a portrait of how things get done. From as nearly perfect parts you make outstanding cars. As to the "orphange" aspect of your new hires; all I can offer is "Absent Comrades". You will have to get them to do an intro sometime- tell us what their learning experiences were, hobbies, all of that.

Definite skill in blasting. I used to use a guy to blast my shells. He came to do a firebird and mfb roadster shell for me. I gave him the loose panels for both bar the aluminum bonnet the mgb had. He said he could blast the bonnet no problem. Sure enough he did it with no damage whatsoever. Proper skilled guy. That wasa y ago and now I can't find anybody I could trust to do the same. Dipping is great in principal but poor in practice?

Strong magnets are sn interesting solution but maybe just check how strong?
For example long term close proximity to a strong magnet may not be recommended for people woth certain medical devices fitted.
They may also erase data from magnetic material, though that is perhaps less of a problem these days than it would have been in the era of cassette tapes!
I assume you have already considered the case of proximity to powered window opening and closing mechanisms?
Or am I over imagining the amount of strength in your use of "strong"?

Instead of spending days developing "new heat shields" visit a very high performance car dismantler, spend an hour or so rumaging through their spares pile and for a few hundred pounds( or even free? ) you will get all the best results to carry on with, after all most cars are build down to a price when new and had no quality stature of any significance in their day, modern cars have to deal with safety issues as well exstream heat sources like cattalitic converters hence very well design heat shielding😊

40:57: Can anyone of your design team recommend fusion360 over Rhino 3D or vice versa ? out of personal experience with both - for someone wanting to learn a tool for car body design ? (leaving everything aside but the programs capability to model and design complexly shaped body panels and their detailing) .....OR any reader of this comment ?
I searched thoroughly, but could not get any trustworthy traceable information: by someone obviously experienced with both - therefore I would be thoroughly delighted for being enfranchised.
I dare asking since those two CAD programs are relatively easily accessible and: I hope and guess, I am not the only one watching, whose desires of learning such skills is being boosted by your videos contents.

One option for the edges of those crinckly ally heat shields is to use a thick adhesive (ie sikaflex 522 etc) bead that gets folded into the seam made when you fold the material back over itself. This provides an obvious adhesive effect and adds damping to the edge of the sheets meaning they buzz less. You can also use this to stick a two sheets together at key "flat" points on the shields, and this prevents buzzing as it not only increases the beaming stifness by about 10 times but also, again, adds damping to the system that actually absorbs vibration energy ;-)

It is good to see how design interacts with the workshop in a positive way. When companies get too large this just becomes too difficult to do. I doubt this will ever happen here though

    Great episode as always 👍🏻
If a customer came to you with an unlimited budget and absolutely no preference, what car and spec would you want to build ?
PS, I’m not that customer, sadly 😂

Wow, you flew the Escort all the way to Mexico just to do a bit of on-road tuning? THAT'S dedication!
