I really need to hear Boy and War, one of these days. Out of the full albums I know (aside from compilations) my ranking is:
    6. All That You Can’t Leave Behind (still love this album)
    5. No Line On The Horizon
    4. October
    3. The Joshua Tree
    2. Unforgettable Fire
    1. Achtung Baby (easily my favorite)

I like a lot of their music even though I don’t own any other cities. (I guess I should’ve included them on your last video!). My favorite song by them is “she moves in mysterious ways.”😊

I agree that Unforgettable Fire and Achtung Baby at the two 10/10 albums
I think "Gone" from Pop is an excellent song, massively underrated, also "Fez / Being Born" is great

War has to be my favorite the only one I liked. Drowing man has the killer Bono vocals!!!! perfect album it is!

Rattle and Hum is my favorite, it's kind of all over the place but that's what I like about it.

It’s hard to beat those first four albums for me. I was a U2 fan from 1983 to 91 but I was wavering before that. I have caught up with their albums since 1991 in the past few years and they are ok but I still can’t get into Achtung Baby although I like The Fly now, despite hating it when I first heard it. I also remember hearing With or Without You for the first time and thinking it was so boring. Still I got The Joshua Tree and it somewhat grew on me. I also didn’t care for Rattle and Hum at first but I grew to like that more. I liked Desire and All I Want Is You. In the 90s I heard Lemon, Numb and Discotheque and thought they were ok. Around 2000 my nephew bought me a various artists compilation album which had Beautiful Day and I didn’t like it at all - songs like that and many off Achtung Baby are too commercial for me.
    My favorite albums are:
1 October - never knew about the stolen lyrics when I was listening to it in high school (You might say junior high in Canada… I was 13) and knowing that now doesn’t change my opinion of it.
    2 War - my first U2 album.
    3 The Unforgettable Fire
    4 Boy
5 Under a Blood Red Sky
    6 Rattle and Hum
and the rest…. Zooropa and Pop are better than I expected. A friend of mine was a huge fan and he had Wide Awake in America which we thought was cool because it was an import but I never had it. He used to buy all their singles as well and he got to go to their concert with his older brother. We were jealous because we weren’t allowed to go. I saw them with BB King - disappointing show but BB King was excellent. I think by the time they got to Australia they were tired because I think it was the end of the tour.
    Top 10 songs:
    1,Tomorrow
    2 Bad
3 I Will Follow - I prefer the Under a Blood Red Sky version
    4 The Unforgettable Fire
    5 Gloria
    6 Running to Stand Still
    7 Sunday Bloody Sunday
    8 Drowning Man
    9 An Cat Dubh
    10 A Sort of Homecoming
Another day I might add Fire, Out of Control, New Year’s Day, 11 O’Clock Tick Tock and of course “40”

The first few albums were awesome but, I saw them Live at the Manchester Apollo, probably around the time October was released. When Bono climbed up the speaker stack at the side of the stage and waved a white flag my inner Punk Rocker decided they were going to become Stadium Rockers! Not for me.
That said, they've done some good stuff.

Still a fan here. Its funny, you seemed to like all their stuff pretty much... so interesting you gave up on them. I will say, Pop being my first U2 album... I love that one.

I've never been a fan of U2 Larry even though I know they're good so I really don't really know their stuff,I just find all their songs sound the same,at least the ones that I've heard. Bob

I still really love War. It has so much energy and when I think of the U2 "sound" I think of that album. Achtung Baby is great and still holds up, and I would say The Joshua Tree but I'm so tired of its first three songs that I pretty much have to skip them and only listen to the rest of it.

Ironically 'trip through your wire' was the song that made me like U2, (surprised you disagreed Larry). also I did like POP. There you go. Chacun à son goût.

I'm still a Big U2 fan. My first album was October, so it still has a big place in my heart. I love Gloria and the song October a ton. 2 weeks later I got Boy and loved the whole album. War I would give a 10 out of 10. The song Drowning man is so under rated. Being a Believer and the fact that Bono has a viewpoint on God. I love his double meaning on lyrics is a bonus for me. My Favorite Album is the Joshua Tree, with Streets being my favorite song. Streets Live in concert can't be beat by any other U2 song. I still love their music. You should listen to their new song Atomic city. The next U2 Album will have more of that kind of sound. Thanks for your honest opinion on them. We all like what we're going to like. no one is right or wrong.

I think them trying to give out songs of innocence for free on iTunes was just pure desperation on their part

I agree achtung baby is the best. I liked innocence and saw them live at that time. Experience wasn't as good. I go in and out with them. Not heavy in my rotation but once in a while I will put on a concert on RUclips.

I liked a few of their songs, but I was never much of a fan. I do respect them. They just never clicked for me.

October A+. Rattle)Hum B. Actung A. Bailed after 92. But I don't mind fans of them. They're kinda American wallflower paper by now. I don't mind the Edge and the rhythm section. 🦉 Exitos? It seems they stopped being a '#re@l. Band. Perhaps its cuz other bands or artists @round were more sincere or contrasted/ with You2's whole aging schtick. I dont really k-no.

I think the free album was slightly annoying to people who hated U2, and i think the auto device download was a mistake. The reason i was a little turned off at that time was the split double concept album that dragged on way too long as far as the marketing cycle. Their politics got way too ridiculous at one point in 2017. I appreciate that bono has not mentioned politics except for honoring the fallen in the attack.

What was it about them that prompted such an exitos of fans? More people bailed on them than any other act I can think of..

I’ve always wondered the same thing. I think it happened when Bono starting taking on more humanitarian and political positions in the early 2000’s. People always seem to turn on bands when they call out injustices outside of their music. It has been truly puzzling to me.

I was angry and thought more of KISS than U2, i just can't stand people spending big money on bands any longer, friday i talked with that co-worker and he finally told us that final bill of thetwo concert, hotel, travel, and the phot op with KISS cost him 1250euros ! I got sick hearing this.

If you really think ego-tripping is only for glamour bands and pop bands, and not U2 you are greatly mistaking, and by the way U2 IS a pop band.

Hmm, very interesting! I have a love/hate relationship with this band. Achtung Baby is the only album of theirs that I actually REALLY LIKE utterly with no reservation (except for One, which I hate). Other than that, I like a few of their songs only. Bono is a total buffoon and Zoo TV really was the only time he and the band were truly ‘cool’, especially because much of the rest of their music is basically quasi-closeted christian proselytism.
    1. ✨Achtung Baby (1991) = 4.5/5 stars ✨
    2. The Unforgettable Fire (1984) = 3.5/5 stars
    3. Zooropa (1993) = 3/5 stars

    5. Boy (1980) = 3/5 stars
    6. The Joshua Tree (1987) = 3/5 stars
    7. Rattle and Hum (1988) = 2.5/5 stars
    8. War (1983) = 2.5/5 stars

Um no they’re just a band from Ireland that spoke out against war and made excellent music. Happens to be Bono grew up catholic and so in turn incorporated some themes into albums like the Joshua tree
