- This was a brilliant show and I could watch this episode over and over. Unlike other celebrity shows of its nature, this show was built upon the idea of NOT furnishing the celebs right the answers ahead of time. Contestants bet on what the stars actually knew, and Alan Sues is asked to provide the literal translation of the Italian phrase "Tutti Frutti."
Now why would HE know that? Hmm.....;-D Развлечения
I remember watching this show when I was home sick from school. I thought there were more celebrities on the panel than just six.
R.I.P. Alan Sues, Carol Wayne, and Nipsey Russell
Debralee Scott & Pat Cooper too :(
R.I.P. Alan Sues (1926-2011)
At long last! It's about time somebody put up something from this show! I've been looking forever!
I've been waiting for eons for a clip of Celebrity Sweepstakes to come up. Thanx much.

During the 1970's and 1980's Alan Sues and Paul Lynde were basically on every game show there was...CELEBRITY SWEEPSTAKES AND THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES. along with Jo Anne Worley and Fanni Flagg.
I think at various times.....every cast member of Rowan and Martin's Laugh In appeared on this show.
In Paul Lynde case, I don’t know about the 80’s. He died in January 1982.
Excellent picture for something that hardly exists. Thank you for posting this. I have never seen this before.
Just saw that Alan Sues died earlier today of a heart attack. He was funny on Laugh In!
Carol Wayne was being quite cruel here- basically calling Alan a fruit.
but truthful
She just meant to be playful since he was famous for camp comedy. She was a nice lady.
Never knew the translation until now of tutti frutti.
And Debralee Scott.
The really loud buzzing from bad tracking on videotape is a nice touch.
great vid of Celebrity Sweepstakes opening from 1975 on youtube with Carol Wayne, Betty White, among others. Type in "Wave Channel 3 Celebrity Sweepstakes "( notice how YOUNG Betty is an how HOT Carol is...lol )
Sadly Carol Wayne was overcoming a cocaine addiction and went to Mexico with that sleazebag Ed Durston who was also with Art Linkletter's daughter when she jumped out of a window while high. They got into a fight and Ed left Carol and went to the airport. They found Carol floating in the shallow water on the beach at Manzanillo the next morning. No one knows how she died but she could not swim.
You left out Debralee Scott.
@coolhandrob Agreed. Long-term drug addiction virtually assured her of an early death. She died far too soon.
CAROL WAYNE. DID SHE REALY DIE IN A ACCIDENT?
@coolhandrob Carol Wayne died at 43 years old in kind of a Joren Van Der Sloot circumstance in a Mexican resort after arguing with her companion Edward Durston. With a little luck she could have been a lot more famous.
what are the chances you are with a woman that dies of mysterious circumstances? and Durston got away clean both times??
Alan getting tutti fruitti? I just shit my pants.
what is this guy sues famous for
Louis Tenore..Rowan and Martin's Laugh In.
Funniest gay guy since Paul Lynde!
Let's not forget the wonderful Charles Nelson Reilly (1931-2007). I love all three of them.
