I think it's crazy how Steve Kerr is a head coach when some of his former teammates are still playing. His matchups against the Spurs this year must be fun for him.
I remember this game. The score did not indicate how badly Dallas was severely kicking their ass. Kerr came in and I was not old enough to know any of the former Bulls players, I honestly thought he looked kinda wimpy and didn't expect anything from him, my dad was like watch this guy, he is a deadly shooter if left open. History made, man Kerr had been one of my favorite bench guys since this game and now he coached my favorite team the Warriors to an NBA championship! Man I love this guy!
i like how people think its some kind of coincidence this guy went to the warriors and they turned into the greatest shooting team in history. kerr is the all time leader in three point shooting percentage.
+TheAngryCanary He is train by the 2 best coach in NBA history .. Bulls coach and Spurs.! you tell me how is Warriors not going to win this season and next ?
Give credit for The Logo for Curry/Klay/Dray. Jerry West is the man behind 3 of the greatest NBA team ever: '72 Lakers, '00-03 Lakers and the 2015-now Warriors.
Boqor nope. Mark jackson never seen the potential of DG, Klay, Barnes. He used to start David lee and iggy. There were no ball movements like they have no. It was all iso plays.
+Zibbit He learned it from Bodiroga....Dejan Bodiroga is the first player to ever do that move, Shammgod just copied it...look it up...and Bodiroga used it all the time as well...one of the best european basketball players ever, just doesn't get the recognition becuase he chose not to play in the NBA...
+truongnd1 ikr. Tries to act like no one knows. It's a move in basketball, someone somewhere invented the crossover, the behind the back, the between. You don't have to tell the origins
I cry every time I watch this. I just love Steve Kerr as a player and coach. That game, the Spurs needed something, and he stayed ready. The whole game complexion changed with his dead-eye shooting and hustle (You can't discount Stephen Jackson, who hit some killer 3s as well.). That guy was the classic NBA overachiever.
It turns out Kerr was taking a ped for his breathing that enhanced his energy for a while but made you crash after.....who knew...it has since been banned from the nba due to health risks and cheating ....whatever it takes to win right
Coach Pop always understood how important the team (the *entire* team) is - and he also managed to make the Spurs *truely* embrace that concept. That's why the Spurs seemingly have such a "deep bench" - because Pop gives everybody a chance to shine where other coaches only see "benchwarmers" and continue to almost exclusively play around their star players.
not really....it was about time some one hit open shots of his passes from double teams.....Duncan avg 25 ppg 13.5 rebounds 5.5 assists 3 blocks and 1steal a night that year.....24 and 14 5 4 and 1 in the postseason.....look at the roster...and the stats..manu sucked and avg 7 a night as a rookie......the roster sucked and was old slow and no one harldy played besides the starters....that title team was built on timmy being 2 time nba mvp doing work vs everyone nightly and parkers ability to get to the lane..but even tony wasn't yet t parker...he could get you an easy 10-12 but that's about it..everyone besides parker timmy and Stephen Jackson on that team was very bad at scoring....that's why they didn't avg 10 a night and timmy carried them to one of the best postseasons a player has ever had....again they played off him...otherwise they couldnt create shit..or get good looks.steve kerr aint doing that unless he has duncan...look at his game 6 of the finals to win it..21 20 rebounds 9 blocks and 8 assists lol..thats nuts..almost a quad double!.......they were built on defense and slowly working it from timmy posting up...and getting offensive rebounds form him and the admiral..duh....that was the way they played..
I'm a Bulls fan and was in 6th grade back then. I remembered Steve Kerr as being a part of our championship teams during the 2nd 3-peat but he was used very sparingly his final year I often forgot he was still on the Spurs. This game seemed absolutely hopeless for San Antonio, it felt like a game 7 vs Dallas a guarantee. Steve Kerr came in outta nowhere and completely swung this game in the Spurs favor with his unexpected barrage of 3's in the 4th. There weren't many dynasty era Bulls left in the NBA by this point so it was pretty cool for me to see Kerr shine in such a big spot 5 years after the Last Dance showing he still had the marksmanship he was always known for.
Before that the Spurs played great D for 24 sec, forcing Nash into a bad shot. Then Kerr diving to floor to save ball. Championship style two way basketball.
Even though the Spurs played slow back then, I never understood why people thought they were boring. Young Manu was as exciting as anyone during this stretch.
Steve Kerr is that guy. I remember when he played for the Bulls and MJ told him to be ready. Steve Kerr said, I will be ready. Talk about not wasting his shot! He has always been clutch!
one of the greatest teams in the NBA in my book always built players and made them starts bright enough to shine and had unforgettable moments like this
Well look at Popovich as head-coach. He can find talent in every player. That is why Spurs usually do not have ups and downs during their seasons. They keep good level of basketball for the whole time. Robinson era-> Duncan/Ginobli era-> and now Leonard. But still role players were always great in San Antonio.
+Cabal Online - Tonberry Yup. A good and quick ball handler to bring the ball upcourt, quick on hassle defence against other small but quick PGs. Then there is his shooting.
Omg ton... This is Vincento311. How am I watching this old video randomly and saw your comment years ago about my favorite coach of the NBA? Hope all is well, and we miss you very much.
I remember watching this live. The Spurs stopped my Lakers from 4-peating then with ginoblis 3, jacksons 2 3's, and kerrs 4 3 pointers... it was good night in big D lol
That's what he's supposed to do - he rotates to double Timmy, someone else is supposed to rotate over to take Kerr, when Nash drops off the double, he rotates to the open man.
I was living in Tucson when Steve Kerr played for Arizona. I remember when his college career was over Dick Vitale said he would never make it in the NBA.
As much as I loved Steve Nash and this 2003 Dallas Mavs team, it was this series that made me appreciate just how amazing the whole Spurs organization was. To this day, I still have mad respect for the San Antonio Spurs whether or not they are playing my team. Class act organization all around. It's no wonder why the Warriors are the team they are today.
Man this was good basketball. Love the ball movement. This is the beauty of the game. They tried to speed the game up by outlawing handchecking but they actually slowed it down because it encouraged hero ball
I know Steven Jackson was feelin' it from beyond the arc this game, but Michael Finley @3:58 bit so hard on that pump that Steve Nash had to leave Steve Kerr to stop what would've most likely been a dunk by Steven Jackson cutting through the paint. After that he frantically chased Jackson from behind instead of shifting over to cover Steve Kerr, who happens to be the best three point shooter of all time statistically (emphasis on statistically we know Steph is the 3 Point GOAT). I know it's a tricky situation because both players are lethal from beyond the arc and San Antonio during this time had the best ball movement I've ever seen from any team, but leaving Steve Kerr wide open there, especially after he hit 2 3's in the past couple of minutes, is mind-blowing. After that at @4:49 Steve Nash lost his mind, and left Steve Kerr wide open to attempt to steal the ball from Tim Duncan. Not only was the idea of trying to steal it from Tim there stupid but that was the weakest attempt at a steal I've seen in quite sometime. For whatever reason, as a basketball fan, I had to get that off my chest. That being said, epic comeback and performance by an aging Steve Kerr to send his team to the Finals.
+Mick A If you watched the Bulls (and this game), Kerr was more than a shooter. He can quickly handle the ball up-court and can keep up with small but fasts PG's for defense. That trait alone makes him "needed", let alone his 3 pt accuracy.
+jpogi gtxcr1 I didn't see those qualities from Kerr. I saw a guy who played off the attention paid to others, primarily Jordan, Pippen and Kukoc. Maybe you are speaking of John Paxson, who was a quality starter.
Kerr was a fantastic role player. Most guys in the NBA think they are superstars but the ones that know they are role players truly shine because they are not fooled by their pride.
the splash father
you sir! deserve a thumbs up!
NICE ONE!
Dion that's Mark Jackson my dude
Mark Jackson wasn't very good from outside the arc. Let me guess you are one of those who cry black man job stolen by white man.
hello there wtf
Jordan's sharpshooter, Pop's veteran slinger, GM of the Run and Gun Suns, Coach of the Warriors Dynasty.
Kerr had a hella career.
I think it's crazy how Steve Kerr is a head coach when some of his former teammates are still playing. His matchups against the Spurs this year must be fun for him.

What do you mean not old enough to know former bulls players. Are you aware he played with the bulls in the nineties and won three chips with them?
AschMu he wasn't old enough to know that kerr was in that bulls squad before. damn, are you stupid or what hahah
AschMu Shut up you illiterate
his looks was deceiving, just like curry when he was just starting..

That Shammgod move by Ginobili starting @2:14 is absolutely ridicilous!

Stephen Jackson really lit shit up this game too

Props also to Jack for making those threes
I remember watching this game, Kerr was on fiyah!!!
It turns out Kerr was taking a ped for his breathing that enhanced his energy for a while but made you crash after.....who knew...it has since been banned from the nba due to health risks and cheating ....whatever it takes to win right
Asmosis Jones did it direct his arms to enable him to shoot too🙄🙄🙄
Miss Brilliant Why Tf did Kerr have to use that if he already didn't get Alot of minutes he had plenty of natural energy
One of the most unforgettable games I’ve ever watched. The two Steves rescued us that game. It was electric!
Coach Pop always understood how important the team (the *entire* team) is - and he also managed to make the Spurs *truely* embrace that concept.

playing off prime duncan in the post and his passing ability helped

Love it ❤️ Classic Steve Kerr Heat !! And old school Steven Jackson 🖐🙌🏼💪
3:57-4:08 11 seconds of flawless basketball
I noticed that sequence too. Love it, and I'm not even a Spurs fan. Or Kerr for that matter.
Before that the Spurs played great D for 24 sec, forcing Nash into a bad shot. Then Kerr diving to floor to save ball. Championship style two way basketball.
stevie looks good in that spurs jersey
Wow. Steve was well spoken back then as a player, too.
Even though the Spurs played slow back then, I never understood why people thought they were boring. Young Manu was as exciting as anyone during this stretch.
young Manu can start on any nba team
Easily one of my most favorite moments in sports history.
4:53 top of the screen
Jackson with the
" I ain't even gotta look.."
Ginobili is my fav athlete of all time, 2:15 is one of my fav plays by him ever
El latigo or shamgod as the States call it
Totally agree
He makes it look so easy with style. Prime Manu right there
2:15 My God, what a move from Manu.
David Robinson's reaction at 4:57 after Kerr hits the last three is fantastic.
young steve nash couldn't even guard 37 yr old kerr
The "Steve Kerr Game". Look at Duncan in the bench amazed for Kerr's performance.
Ginobili's move at 2:17 was nice!
+Joe Cole god shammgod move right there
Manu has lost a lot of his speed and athletic ability now. But check out the move at 2:15 ! Now I can understand why he was an allstar back then.
Gabriel Leung he hit them wit dat SHAMMGOD!!
Gabriel Leung but despite him not being agile he is still a force to be reckoned with
Steve Kerr is that guy. I remember when he played for the Bulls and MJ told him to be ready. Steve Kerr said, I will be ready. Talk about not wasting his shot! He has always been clutch!
Manu with the sham god..damn

I will never forget this unforgettable game with Steve Kerr. 2003
I remember watching this game, in my college in China, with other 50 people, in front of one 29 inch TV.
kerr was one of the greatest role player you could want in your team.
+Cabal Online - Tonberry Yup.
A good and quick ball handler to bring the ball upcourt, quick on hassle defence against other small but quick PGs. Then there is his shooting.
Curry is the modern day Kerr with more usage
SanctumGaming Q Except Curry has a quicker release, shoots off-dribble, and in-traffic a lot more.
Omg ton... This is Vincento311. How am I watching this old video randomly and saw your comment years ago about my favorite coach of the NBA? Hope all is well, and we miss you very much.
"Kerr Again!" Is one of my favorite calls in NBA history!!!!
The greatest moment in the history of life.
ginobli had so much hair....crazy how so many of them are still playing...
Great video... epic western conference playoff battles.
Kerr is one of the best 3 point shooters of All time
I remember this so well. I thought we were toast.
I remember watching this live. The Spurs stopped my Lakers from 4-peating then with ginoblis 3, jacksons 2 3's, and kerrs 4 3 pointers... it was good night in big D lol
Steve Kerr looks like a head coach even in his uniform. Lmao
Steve Kerr's statline for his 13min: 12 points on 4/4 from 3, 2 rebounds, 3 assists , +21 +/-
Steve Kerr is the Iceman when they leave him open kerr will make easy 3 point shots
Yeaaaah young Kerr! Kerr was underrated big time. Never knew he had 5 champ rings back then
2:18 Godsham! Manu
You mean shamgod.
Shamgod** bruh
El Latigo .
mmp11 bruh. i said the same thing.
People forgot how cold Capt Jack was
I remember watching this live. Old Man Steve was so gassed at the end. But he did what he had to do
Kerr is the Iceman clutch shooter Steve Kerr is on Fire
I love my Spurs!! Those were the years man... Those were the years!!!!
Steve was always ready on or off the bench, He played with Mj
4:50 what was nash doing? he just left kerr and didnt even try to get back to him when he got the ball
I think their defence was focused on double teaming Timmy
That's what he's supposed to do - he rotates to double Timmy, someone else is supposed to rotate over to take Kerr, when Nash drops off the double, he rotates to the open man.
I was living in Tucson when Steve Kerr played for Arizona. I remember when his college career was over Dick Vitale said he would never make it in the NBA.
Now we know why Steve Kerr is such a great coach: he learned from two of the games greatest masterminds: Phil Jackson and Coach Pop
This gm still hurts...its up there with game 6 of finals and losing to GS in first rd. Freaking Kerr
91-99 plus 92-94 and 2003-2010 man 2011 as a mavs fan must have felt so good!!!! lol...especially beating kobe durant and wade and lebron ....
0:14 Steve kerr doing the Brian Scalabrine's ritual
you mean, the GOAT's ritual.
That escalated quickly
Its sad Steve Nash never won a title. He should have atleast one...
Hard to win a title when you have zero defense skills.
He is with the warriors staff so still he won a title. 😁✌
DrLight66 DrLight66 I’m not too familiar with Nash. Was he really that bad defensively?
Edmond Lau.... yes he was, but he more than made up for it the way he ran the offense.
He got back to back MVP's (which should not have happened ) so i guess he made the most he could!
That was a HELL of a game!!
That was sick!
I remember playing NBA live 2003, this Mavs team was so hard to beat LOL
Watching the Lakers crying on the bench after beating them the series before, was even sweeter.
Kerr.....AGAIN!
People who just started to watch the NBA in 2015 haven't watch this game in real time and doesn't know this for sure. 😂
One of my all time favourite game..
Uuuuh that Manu Shamgod at 2:16. Nasty
5:26 IS THAT MARK CUBAN?!?!?!!
Michael Jordan yep, looking like he belongs in a boy band. LOL
look like drug addict
As much as I loved Steve Nash and this 2003 Dallas Mavs team, it was this series that made me appreciate just how amazing the whole Spurs organization was. To this day, I still have mad respect for the San Antonio Spurs whether or not they are playing my team. Class act organization all around. It's no wonder why the Warriors are the team they are today.
Stephen Jackson was on fire too!
Man this was good basketball. Love the ball movement. This is the beauty of the game. They tried to speed the game up by outlawing handchecking but they actually slowed it down because it encouraged hero ball
steve kerr was the man and still is
Oh my Goodnss Coach Kerr Gota love him.!!
Steve had already won three championships in the last three years: He’s been here before and he knows what it takes to win.
Capt. Jack!!
this spur team is comprehensive team, i like the players
the steve kerr game. remember watching this.
I love my Spurs!

Kerr again!
5:22
Who knew Steve Kerr would be Steve Nash's GM down the road...
I remember this when I watched this today, on youtube.
Gosh I didn't even recognize Nash
captain jack was part of that spark also
Stevie Kerr!!
reason why nash has no rings
The birth of modern NBA
I was at home watching when this happened. Hit 4 in a row. He killed my Mavericks.
Spurs rotating the ball and sharing it finding the open man is Steve Kerr
Forgot what Ginobili looked like with hair. He looks 40 years older now.
Just a shooter, but you need em'.
+Mick A If you watched the Bulls (and this game), Kerr was more than a shooter. He can quickly handle the ball up-court and can keep up with small but fasts PG's for defense. That trait alone makes him "needed", let alone his 3 pt accuracy.
